It was November 5 2024, election day.

I first noticed it while driving around town dropping off clients’ bills.
Election day.

Here on the west coast of the US, we have mail in ballots. There is no need for lines of people at polling stations.
In the past this has never stopped groups of supporters standing on street corners encouraging people with posters on a stick to get out to vote.
Last minute endorsements of candidates by enthusiastic boosters crowding the intersections has been a part of election day for as long as I have lived in this city.
Freeway overpasses are usually filled with flags and large banners pushing for support and just good old American flag action.
No matter who you voted for, the cause and the message was to support freedom and our right to vote.

Checking on my accounts and visiting clients took me in a crisscross pattern along the freeway and into different business districts.
What I noticed was the quiet.
There was nothing. It was quiet.
I found this to be extremely odd.
I mean like it was very quiet.
Where were the people ? Where was the support? Where were the reminders to turn in your ballot?
Where was the American flag?

Now one of the things that rose out of the 2020 election was the Trump train Phenomena.
Not for everyone but it was pretty exciting to see truck after truck driving in convoy with huge flags flapping in their wake.
Trump was now running for president again. Wouldn’t those supporters still have those huge flags to bring out?
Nothing. It was strangely quiet.
There were people going about the day as if nothing was different.
A momentous day in the history of the world and people were acting as if nothing was happening.
Now on the individual level I can see how family and friends were keeping it tight especially to curtail any disagreements.
But for the public motivators? It was extremely quiet.
And this quiet was speaking volumes.
Is this the sound of the silent majority?

I know groups of people were gathering in homes and coming together to watch the election as the night played out.
Again here on the west coast we get to experience the time zone factor.
While polling results are coming in fast and furious from the rest of the nation, we may not even get our results until the next day.
And our electoral points don’t factor toward the outcome as the race results are typically known long before we know our states standing.

On this Tuesday November 5th 2024 at 11:30 pm Pacific time the presidential race was called by the Associated Press when Donald J. Trump exceeded the 270 electoral college mid count.

In my county, the race was tight but Trump prevailed with 50.5 %. Harris was at 46.15 %.
Statewide Harris won by 58% to Trump’s 38.9%.
In my neck of the woods we were at odds with the rest of the state.
This will surprise no one living here. But the tightness of the race gives an idea of the split in opinions.
And for our state as a whole the differences couldn’t be more obvious.

I have one client that voted for Trump. One out of many.
My working world has just been hit by a sledge hammer.
These people were invested and even wore the t-shirts.
Their world just took a new direction and I don’t think they like it much.
So far the response I am seeing from them is nothing. Not just nothing but noticeable quiet.
Then there was a glimpse of despair. But mostly I think they are in shock.
I don’t know exactly what news they were listening to. But my sense is that they really really didn’t know they could lose.
And the news is a shocking blow to their psyche.

The morning after the election, I took a pulse of the collective in meditation which is a thing I do.
What I heard was a very unusual quiet.
I decided to touch base with my Trump supporters and we did individual high fives via text.
But the response was still subdued.
I checked with truthers and found one report that they too felt a huge underplaying of celebration.
There was a police officer on tik tok that posted about the quiet. It’s too quiet, he said. What’s that all about?
Some felt like even President-elect Trump was subdued in his reception speech.
Well, it was 2:30 in the morning so yeah, that could be.

There have been some very nice celebratory postings.
But where is the champagne popping, firework display exuberance?

This has been a different election than ever before.
Even with a win we know it is not over.
And with those bolstering the loss, they seem to be in shock.
Overall all parties seem to be quiet. Too much so.
What’s going on?

Some results of the Trump victory are 3D obvious.
The stock market hit an all time high on Nov 6th.
Every head of state of the international world congratulated Trump and declared their support and willingness to work with him.
Except Iran and Putin, but that’s probably just bravado.
Hamas declared an end to the war and Zelensky asked for Peace. Germany is on the verge of collapse as a key minister exits.
Interest rates dropped by a quarter point and Biden gave a coherent speech in a press conference.
Biden’s promise of a peaceful transition of power was very uncharacteristic and actually the best representation of Biden I have seen in four years.
An anchor on CNN gave his colleagues a come to your senses speech. While the gals on the view simply went into a tailspin.
And I think I actually witnessed the grocery store lowering prices. Going to definitely keep an eye on that one.
What the blazes? In 2 days the world spun on its head.

But what does it all mean for us Spiritually?
I think the first thing President Trump said was the most important. It is time for us to heal.
It’s time for the world to heal.
In an instant we have World Peace.
I think that’s what just happened.
That alone is the beginning of great healing.
We have a ways to go but it has begun.

Go ahead and take time to breathe.
There will be much more work ahead, but for now, right now, take a minute and be in the quiet.
This is the end of the day after the hard work is done and being still is necessary.
This is the settling of the spin. The realization that the noise was drowning out our own minds.
This the mountain air when the wind quits blowing.
The quiet that permeates the dawn.
Stillness that calms our soul and grounds our being.

What do you hear?
What can you heal?
When we rest, we heal.
We rest so that we can go again.
From the ashes, we rise.

Is it possible this election was the burning of the Phoenix?
The world seems to have suddenly shifted.
It has begun.

The Phoenix rises.
