Deeper Into Spiritual Consciousness

 Deeper Into Spiritual Consciousness

by Owen Waters

Post on 2026/07/12

I was encouraged by Saint Germain to produce my latest book, The Spiritual Meaning of Life, as a timely message in these days of rapid change. The outside world is changing fast and the inner world, inspired by transformational cosmic energies, is changing even faster. All the more reason to skip the news each morning and spend more quality time in meditation!

The Spiritual Meaning of Life book goes to the very root of the meaning of life, so it becomes a source of contemplation into the will of the Creator. It is purposed as a concise guide to the deep, underlying principles used in the Creation of the universe and the different human races in this galaxy.

I remember, when working on the book one day and documenting the critical key to transformation, Saint Germain surprised me by suddenly concluding, "We're done!" He really did want it short, sweet and action-oriented with no filler or fluff like you find added into many books.

Feedback from readers of the book has been most encouraging. I had to research some background information when a theological friend of mine compared one of its concepts with the Ground of the Soul idea coined by Meister Echkart (1260-1328), which refers to a place in the soul where one can realize union with the Divine. Times must have moved along since then. The version I was guided to write suggests even more than just a place in the soul - more like an open port, ready at any time to access a flood of cosmic inspiration!

So, if you are ready to go deeper into the realms of spiritual consciousness, be sure to read (or re-read) The Spiritual Meaning of Life.

It's available on Amazon as a Kindle e-book or paperback and also as a regular pdf e-book download. If you order the pdf version from us, it comes with a Sharing license statement instead of the standard copyright, so you can pass along copies to personal friends. If you have ordered the Amazon e-book and would also like a pdf copy, click Reply and let me know.

And... Amazon reviews are always appreciated. They help others to move ahead into a world of clear and concise metaphysical principles.

3 Surprising Reasons to Meditate as You Age

3 Surprising Reasons to Meditate as You Age

Jasmin Bilali,

November 5, 2025

Meditation restores your calm, sharpens intuition, and eases control. Thrive in your later years with this simple, effective daily habit.

By the time we reach our later years, we’ve weathered a lot: job changes and financial curveballs. Illnesses and aging. Broken hearts and losing those we love. We’ve also lived through decades of alerts and notifications, breaking news, and a “more, more, more” culture. No wonder many of us feel drained or anxious.

Meditation won’t stop the challenges of aging, but it will make you far more resilient to them. I’ve seen it transform my clients’ lives—and my own—in ways no other practice has. If you want to preserve your energy, clarity, and joy as you grow older, here’s why it’s worth making meditation a daily habit.

Think of Yourself as a Battery
Your mind, body, and emotions are all connected. Drain one, and the others suffer. Living causes drainage. Left unchecked, any depletions can begin to accumulate and show up as poor sleep, anxiety, brain fog, and even health problems. Meditation is the cable that helps you to restore your full charge before burnout sets in.

Here are three major drains to look out for as you age—and how meditation helps mitigate them.

1. Your Calm Switch Wears Out

Your vagus nerve is your body’s built-in “calm switch,” controlling heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing. Prolonged stress can jam that switch, leaving you stuck in fight-or-flight mode even when you’re safe.

Meditation Fix

The slow, steady breathing that you experience in meditation resets your vagus nerve, easing tension, lowering stress hormones, and helping you return to your natural state of balance. You’ll feel younger.

2. Your Inner Compass Gets Foggy

As we age, poor decisions take more of a toll because there’s less time to bounce back. Your best decisions come from a blend of logic and intuition, but constant mental chatter can override your gut feelings.

Meditation Fix

By neutralizing overstimulation, meditation creates the mental space that allows you to hear your intuition clearly so you can make choices aligned with your authentic values. You’ll feel a greater sense of satisfaction.

3. Your Urge to Control Takes Over

When life feels overwhelming, it’s natural to cling to plans and control. But when control isn’t possible (and it often isn’t), stress and anxiety can spike, and your world and your options can feel smaller.

Meditation Fix

A regular meditation practice trains you to stay present, trust in the moment, let go of the need to micromanage your life, and allow for more peace and thereby possibilities. You’ll feel an increased ability to create new things in your life.

You weren’t meant to simply “get by” or be “okay”—these are terms of survival mindsets. You were meant to thrive, and thriving has no age limit. Meditation isn’t sexy, but it is simple, ancient, and effective at keeping your battery charged as you age.

Start small: Commit to just five minutes a day. Sit in a comfortable position in loose clothing. Pay attention to your breath. Observe when your attention darts off, and gently bring it back each time. Perfection is not required.

I guarantee you that your future self will thank you.

Pathways to Spiritual Unity

Pathways to Spiritual Unity

by Owen Waters

Posted on October 5, 2025

In “The Book of Secrets,” Deepak Chopra updates the Vedic spiritual paths in a way which aligns these paths with the modern Western lifestyle.

According to the Vedic tradition, each person can choose from four paths to obtain unity consciousness. The word ‘yoga’ is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning “union with God.” The four paths, or yogas, seek unity through thinking, feeling, acting and being. They are traditionally called:

Jnana (“G’ya-na”) Yoga – thinking: The path to unity through knowledge.
Bhakti Yoga – feeling: The path to unity by loving devotion to God.
Karma Yoga – acting: The path to unity through selfless action.
Raja Yoga – being: The path to unity through meditation and renunciation.

People may pursue one or more paths at once. In fact, Raja Yoga, which literally means “The King of the Yogas,” embraces aspects of all the other three paths. It achieves this by the fact that meditation transcends and includes the end result of what the other paths – thinking, feeling, and acting – are trying to reach, which is the essence of being.

You could say that meditation is a short-cut to spiritual union, or unity consciousness. Instead of working through actions, thoughts and feelings, you go right to the end result and become enlightened by inner awareness, by inner beingness.

The Four Paths to Spiritual Unity

1. Thinking

The path of knowledge begins with concentration upon a subject or an object. When long, focused attention is given to a subject or object, intuitive information begins to enter into your awareness. While intuition is your link to inner guidance, it can also provide knowledge directly from a physical object via the subtle senses. For example, if you saw a piece of previously-owned jewelry for sale, you could pick it up and feel it in your hands through your physical sense of touch. At the same time, with a little focus and some quiet time, your subtle sense of touch could enable the transfer of the object’s memory into your awareness. Intuition is the gateway to inner connection and the wisdom that it brings. By following the thread of knowledge, through intuition and then deeper into your inner connection, you experience glimpses of the unity consciousness within.

2. Feeling

The path of feeling is traditionally thought of as one of devotion to God. Deepak Chopra defines it more lucidly as love in its various expressions – the love of self and family evolving into the unconditional love of humanity.

Then, in its highest expression, the yearning heart finds fulfillment when the individual reaches for unity with God, with the heart of Creation.

3. Acting

The path of acting is traditionally one of monastic service. Again, Deepak Chopra updates this definition with a practical, modern interpretation. Right action, he says, is action guided by a force beyond the ego. Personal attachment to your own actions gives way to nonattachment through performing God’s actions, or inwardly, spiritually-inspired actions. This eventually leads to fulfillment, he points out, when your surrender is so complete that God runs everything you do.

The path of acting can be recognized in today’s popular idea of following your inner joy, i.e. your inner, spiritually-inspired path of action. Your ‘dharma’ brings your destiny. Dharma is your inner path based upon your inner nature, your pattern of existence over many incarnations. If, deep down, you are an artist, a musician, a poet or a scientist, then that is probably your dharma, your inner pathway to spiritual consciousness – the one that you explore in every incarnation when the opportunity arises. It is vital to know your personal destiny, your personal path. Meditation will reveal it, and keep filling in the details, as you follow your unique personal path back to spiritual unity.

4. Being

The path of being, Deepak Chopra says, is a cultivation of self beyond ego. A growing awareness of the “I Am” presence within, your pure and simple inner sense of existence.

There is a renunciation aspect to this path, and he redefines that as renouncing your old perceptions, rather than renouncing your possessions. These days, let’s face it, it would be a little hard for most people to get to work with no car and no clothes!

Possessions, he points out, are only an outward expression of what occurs within. Even the ancient tradition of wandering as a monk with a begging bowl is, after all, an outward expression of what has transformed within. When you renounce the belief that the outer world has power over you, then you begin to create your life from your inner joy.

States of being along this path include the realization that your life has a purpose, that you are a unique individual and that you are guided and cared for by your inner self, by your connection with all that is.

These inner realizations dawn and develop when you practice regular, daily meditation. The practice of meditation, as Raja Yoga points out, is the fast track to spiritual awareness.

Build the Habit of Showing Up

Build the Habit of Showing Up

By Leo Babauta

Posted on August 19, 2025

So much becomes possible when we just show up regularly.

Some of the best people I’ve known are people who just show up for others, regularly. They show up, take care of things, do their best. And the lives of others get changed.

When we’re struggling with our lives, often it’s a struggle to show up for our lives.

So today, I’m going to recommend the idea of building the simple habit of showing up. Simple, but of course not always easy.

If you can show up regularly, things will start to change.

What Does Showing Up Look Like?

Showing up can be applied to any area of our lives:

Fitness: When I wanted to start running, my mantra was to just lace up my shoes and get out the door. I didn’t have to run if I didn’t feel like it — I just needed to show up. Eventually I ran my first marathon this way! The same thing applies if you want to work out at the gym, or do yoga regularly, or play a sport. Just show up, and you’ll see progress.

Finances: For me, this looks like opening my budget app every day (You Need a Budget is what I recommend) and sorting through transactions, making sure I’m on plan, making payments and adjustments to the plan as needed. It takes 5-10 minutes a day. For someone else, it might be some other small steps — but showing up regularly can make a huge difference in getting finances in order.

Meditation: Practicing mindfulness through meditation can have a huge impact on your life — but only if you’re showing up regularly and practicing. I’ve gone through many periods where I struggled to show up, mostly because I always feel too busy. But if I can remind myself that all I need to do is get my butt on the cushion, then my meditation practice starts to happen.

Big project: A writer friend of mine told me that he just needed to get his butt on the chair at a certain time and the book gets written. That’s what showing up for a project looks like.

Clutter: If you have mountains of clutter … can you take just 10 minutes a day to clear out a little of it? Slowly the mountains shrink to molehills.

Email: Overflowing inbox? Have a session every day where you clear out the less important emails (archive, quick replies) and try to reply to a few of the more important ones.

Learning: We learn best when we’re consistently showing up. Whether it’s reading through a textbook or studying Anki flashcards, you’ll see great progress by just showing up regularly.

You get the picture. A habit of showing up regularly changes any area of your life — including relationships, your career, your pile of small tasks that can feel overwhelming, and more.

How to Build the Habit of Showing Up

So how do we build this as a habit? Well, intention and practice.

Start with the intention: pick one area (any of the areas above would be good) and have the intention to just show up in that area every day (or at least, most days). It’s not about perfection. Just start with the intention. Write it down.

Then practice:

  • Set a reminder so you don’t forget. Also put it on your calendar.
  • Start with the smallest amount you can show up. Just lace up your shoes. Just get your butt on the chair. Just open the document. Don’t get ambitious.
  • Each day, when you practice, see if there’s something you can enjoy about showing up. Can you find a little bit of fun, play, curiosity, gratitude?
  • What could be lovely about showing up?
  • Acknowledge yourself each time you do show up. Drop the habit of self-criticism and discouraging yourself, and instead practice encouraging yourself.
  • Appreciate what starts happening after a week or so of showing up regularly.

It’s an underappreciated skill, but I think showing up regularly changes everything.

with love,

Spiritual Growth

Spiritual Growth

by Owen Waters

Posted on August 17, 2025

Spiritual growth is the growing awareness of a higher level of consciousness.

A higher level of consciousness brings an expanded view of reality.

The more your view of reality expands, the more you are able to integrate any conflicting issues within yourself.

Why It Matters Today

Spiritual growth has become such an urgent issue today because the frequency of everyone’s consciousness is rising. People may not be aware that they are growing. They may resist it. They may be in denial that today’s great changes affect them. Nevertheless, these are the days of great change, an era called the Shift.

The Shift is a steady rise in consciousness which affects the entire planet. It is similar to the cultural shift of the Renaissance, only amplified several times over. The Renaissance was merely a practice run for today’s transformation.

The Shift into higher consciousness is propelling today’s search for spirituality and meaning in life. Spiritual growth involves gaining a deeper sense of inner awareness. Deeper awareness ranges from light meditation to a complete and blissful union with your true, inner self.

Exposure to the deeper states of meditation have the long-term effect of raising your everyday level of awareness. The higher the frequency of your consciousness, the more likely you are to see the synchronicity of events in your life and gain intuitive insights into these.

The universal theme playing out on Earth today is shifting from one of separation to one of integration. Integration means learning how to love and accept yourself, and others, completely and unconditionally.

Deeper awareness opens the door to an inner sense of the connectedness of all life. You begin to see other people as different expressions of the same Infinite Being. Not better than, not less than, just different than yourself. In the deeper awareness of spiritual growth, the universe is seen to be within, not something separate and outside of yourself.

Inner integration is a process that causes issues of separation to arise so that they can be resolved. In society today, issues are coming up so rapidly that society appears to be in turmoil or chaos. This turmoil is actually a great society-wide healing, with issues becoming resolved one after another.

People are becoming more sensitive in many ways as the frequency of consciousness rises. The search for lighter diets is just one manifestation of this new lightness of being.

The physical senses are becoming more acute. An example of this is people’s sensitivity to the smell of cigarette smoke in work places and restaurants. Back in the 1970s, people smoked everywhere and very few noticed any discomfort from it. By the 1990s, however, the majority of people’s sensitivity had changed so much that they couldn’t wait to get smoking banned from indoor gathering places.

With the rise in consciousness comes a rise in personal empowerment. People are no longer willing to tolerate abuse or inequality in any form. Many forms of abuse which were traditionally ignored and tolerated have now come out into the public view for examination and reform.

David: Icon of the Renaissance

The Renaissance movement was inspired by the icon of Michelangelo’s statue of David. The statue portrays David, strong-willed and ready, at the moment that he decides to engage the threat posed by Goliath. This icon of personal empowerment resonated with the cultural shift of the time. People wanted to explore their potential, taking personal initiative in their lives.

Before this, they had seen life as a sequence of events caused by a pre-ordained destiny. Up until that time, people had resigned themselves to a flow of events which they saw as being outside of their control.

When people shifted towards the attitude that they might also be pre-ordained to take some personal initiative, everything began to shift. The floodgates of possibility opened up as people began to explore their true potential.

In that same era, people on Earth still thought that their planet was the center of the universe. The Sun was seen as orbiting around the Earth, and the stars were merely a decorative backdrop in the Creator’s sky.

Today, it is known that the universe measures billions of light years across, contains countless billions of galaxies, with each galaxy typically containing billions of suns. The number of planets in the universe is so large that it makes such an expanded view of reality almost impossible to grasp.

When you consider that all of those trillions of planets were created by one Creator, there is an obvious need for today’s concept of God to expand to fill the new reality. Faced with such a massively expanded view of the universe, how are people supposed to grasp the concept of such a huge Creator in a way that makes sense today?

What would David have done? As he faced the looming Philistine giant Goliath and readied his slingshot, to whom did he pray? Did he invoke the power of an external God for his protection? Possibly, but not likely. As portrayed in the Michelangelo statue, his face was set, but not with a need for protection. It was set in a defiance born of inner strength and determination.

The Power Is Within You

Everyone possesses such inner strength. That same source of incredible personal power is available within everyone, and the source is your inner self. Often referred to as the soul, your inner self is the permanent part of you. While the physical body can pass away from the physical world, and later the spirit body can pass away from the spirit world, your inner self is the real, permanent you.

It is the part of you that is permanently joined with your soul family in vibrant love and harmony. The more you contact your inner self through meditation, the more you can tune into this source of strength, love and harmony.

People’s connection to the Infinite Being always has been through their soul, or inner self.

Inner contact through meditation is the most peaceful, and the most productive, part of any day. Everyone deserves quality time. When quality time becomes the first priority of the day, then meditation will happen regularly and the benefits will automatically be yours.

Put meditation at the top of your To Do list for each day and watch your spiritual growth unfold.

What is Cosmic Energy and How to Harness It

What is Cosmic Energy and How to Harness It

By AtmashreeYogaRetreat

Posted on June 4, 2025

Cosmic energy is the source of energy that comes from the vastness of space to the smallest particles of matter. It is considered the energy that animates life to maintain balance and harmony in the universe. The concept has its roots in various spiritual and ancient traditions, as it is related to ideas such as prana in Hinduism or chi in Chinese philosophy.

The origins of cosmic energy can be traced back to the creation of the universe itself. Here, the immense amount of energy is transformed into different forms, including celestial, life, and spiritual energy. The transformation underscores its role as a fundamental force that sustains life and connects individuals to a larger cosmic framework.

As a universal life force, cosmic energy flows through unique pathways known as chakras in many spiritual practices. Similarly, it influences physical health, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth.

The Role of Cosmic Energy in Spirituality and Wellness

Cosmic energy plays an important role in bridging the spiritual and material realms. It acts as a conduit for anyone looking to harness harmony between their physical existence and higher consciousness. In spiritual practices, cosmic energy is considered the life force that transcends the limitations of the physical world. The connection develops a sense of unity and purpose that enables people to transcend material concerns and gain insights into their true essence.

One of the contributions of cosmic energy is its ability to enhance self-awareness, cultivate inner peace, and restore emotional balance. When you engage with this energy, they experience an elevated sense of clarity about their thoughts and feelings. Self-awareness allows them to identify and address negative emotions or limiting beliefs that may be holding them back.

Moreover, cosmic energy’s impact extends beyond the spiritual and emotional dimensions. On a mental level, cosmic energy increases stress and anxiety, clears mental clutter, and improves focus. It rejuvenates the mind and enhances creativity and problem-solving abilities. On a physical level, engaging with cosmic energy supports the body’s natural healing processes by restoring energy flow and balance within the body.

How to Connect with Cosmic Energy

Cosmic energy is a special kind of energy that helps us feel calm, happy, and strong. Below are some fun and simple ways you can use to connect with this magical energy:

Meditation

Meditation is sitting quietly and listening to the world inside you. Close your eyes, take slow, deep breaths, and imagine a warm, glowing light filling your body. This light is cosmic energy! It can make you feel peaceful and happy. You can try thinking about your favorite place or listen to a guided meditation to help you focus.

Yoga

Yoga is a fun stretching game that helps cosmic energy flow through your body. When you move into different poses (like pretending to be a tree or a cat), you help your body and mind work together. Don’t forget to breathe slowly while you do yoga; it’s like giving your body a little energy boost.

Visualization

Visualization means using your imagination to connect with cosmic energy. Close your eyes and imagine a bright, colorful light all around you. See the light coming into your body to make you feel strong and happy. You can also imagine yourself in a magical garden or on a mountaintop and soak in the energy from nature.

Spending Time in Nature

Nature is full of cosmic energy! Go outside and feel the sun on your skin, the breeze in your hair, or the grass under your feet. Walking in a park, sitting under a tree, or listening to birds can help you feel calm and connected to the world around you.

Breathing Exercises

Breathing is super powerful! Try breathing in slowly through your nose and then out through your mouth. You can even pretend you’re blowing out birthday candles or smelling a flower. This helps your body relax and opens up space for cosmic energy to flow in to make you feel refreshed and full of life.

These above-mentioned are a few of the methods. If you are ready to embark on your journey to spiritual enlightenment and connect more to cosmic energies, you can directly book our 200-hour yoga teacher training classes.

Conclusion

Cosmic energy is all around us and can help us feel calm, strong, and connected. As you use simple practices like meditation, yoga, spending time in nature, and breathing exercises, you can bring this energy into your life. It helps us feel better, stay balanced, and grow as a person.

Cosmic energy is a gift from the universe that anyone can use. By connecting with it, we can live happier, healthier, and more peaceful lives.

Collective Energy Purge

Collective Energy Purge

By Ascension LightWorkers (AL)

Posted on May 24, 2025

Over the past 48 hours and continuing through the weekend, there is an extensive collective energy purge and release taking place. This is supporting the influx of high planetary frequencies received during the recent Portals , Starseeds may be experiencing feelings of lethargy and lack of motivation in certain areas of life as well as feeling lost or possibly confused.

We are now in the 10 Days of a Solace period, a time for reflection, meditation and conscious evolution. Over the next 10 days we are taking an in-depth look at all areas of life and making a conscious choice to level up. This is a time for honest evaluation in self free of any guilt or shame. Emerging in the frequencies of opportunity to clear any lingering past self residue. The ascending collective have shifted into higher dimensional timelines.

Shadow work is the process of exploring inner darkness or the “Shadow Self”. Shadow work uncovers every part of you that has been falsley conditined, misgrogrammed, disowned, repressed, and rejected. This is the only authentic path to genuine ascension and enlightenment.

There may be out of the blue bouts of anger, sadness, resentment and anxiety for some which can result in feeling overly emotional and crying randomly and spontaneously, experiencing deep sadness in self Additionally, irritability and annoyance may arise for no apparent reason. This is a temporary state of being, as the old outdated ways in self continue to collapse and breakdown, a great deal of change is taking place in many levels of conscious awareness.

Those ascending and clearing anxiety often experience something called “Waiting Mode”. This means you find it difficult to accomplish tasks because you may be distracted by the awareness of upcoming appointments, causing anxiety, impatience, and sensory overwhelm for a time.

There is grief in releasing the past version of self, feeling loss and sadness for a time is understandable. There is no short cut to this stage of the journey. The biggest investment is made within the self.

As your frequency upgrades and your intuition becomes stronger, you notice how much other people’s energy actually does affect you. The more spiritually attuned you become, the more sensitive you are to energy in general. Keeping circles that are genuinely pure, sacred and small.

For some Ascending souls the current energies may feel heavy and difficult to navigate. However, for others they may also feel light and inspiring. There is a sense of rebirth and the opportunity for brand new beginnings. The external disharmony has caused imbalance within for some individuals.

This is all normal and part of the natural Ascension process of purging and releasing negative energy to create energetic space for higher vibrations. By feeling, sensing, releasing, transmuting, and receiving, we become better aligned with our true self.

Identyfing the source of any disharmony as it arises, whether it is related to love, work, or the inner child. In order to grow and heal, it’s important for us to consciously release misprogrammed beliefs, stagnant energies, expectations, and blockages created due to past pain and trauma. Recognising that the transforming self is a powerful being and energetic creator.

The higher self that is the eternal and unlimited version of you is now taking over ,It ignites your soul with the desire to achieve your true potential here in the material world. By accessing your higher self you tap into the power within you that will guide you to fulfill your life’s purpose. Trust in your higher self and let it serve as your guide towards achieving your goals and becoming the best version of yourself.

Healing is never linear. Healing can feel messy. Some days you may feel okay and other days you may not feel ok. Taking each day as it comes. Trusting in the Ascension process helps to navigate these changing times here on our transforming planet.

In loving and devoted Ascension service
