Shift Your Response to Uncertainty

Shift Your Response to Uncertainty

Daily Inspiration

By Kate Spreckley

January 14, 2026

Sunday’s New Moon, the first of 2026, will bring a foundational shift that will ignite a significant internal and external restructuring of the core building blocks of our lives. It will help us to clear the last remains of the previous year, and as such we may find ourselves shedding and releasing the vestiges of what no longer serves us. A major aspect of this shift is the movement from superficial or ego-driven definitions of success to more soul-aligned ambitions that support the well-being of the whole.

The days leading up to the New Moon may feel heavy as doubts and insecurities surface. You may feel an internal pressure building forcing you to face what is no longer sustainable. This can feel like a tug-of-war between where you are and where you think you should be. The not knowing and uncertainty about the future can be destabilizing bringing a crisis of confidence. While your mind may want certainty of the future, the reality is that change is constant and the nature of life is dynamic and unpredictable.

Remember that uncertainty is where growth and opportunity reside, and where new possibilities and creativity can emerge. Much of your striving for certainty is an illusion of control. The key to navigating these times is managing your internal response to it. The present is the only truly certain reality you have. Anchoring yourself there dissolves much of the anxiety generated by worrying about a future that hasn't happened yet. By accepting that uncertainty is the default state of existence, you move into a more flexible and resilient mindset that embraces the ebbs and flows of life. Focus on building your tolerance for ambiguity by being open to the unknown. Intentionally shift your response to uncertainty from one of fear to one of curiosity and possibility.

Much love

Kate
