To be alive is to be Love

To be alive is to be Love

Here in the non physical realms, where we know ourselves as Love, as Reality, we are watching with delight as humanity’s collective awakening process continues to reveal to you that even in your illusory unawareness you do have a deep sense or knowing that you too are Love, and only Love, and this deep inexpressible knowing is guiding you in every moment.  Even though you appear to be living in a painfully uncaring and unloving world, where harshly judgmental comparison and competition seem to be the driving motivation within so many people, you are awakening.  And you are beginning to be aware that the only wise and meaningful way forwards for humanity is through loving acceptance of one another, and a willingness to listen to each other so that you may begin to truly understand and honor the wonder that each of you, each human is demonstrating and expressing just by being.

This is an absolutely amazing wonder for us to behold.  It is showing us very clearly the Power of Love, as It gently and most beautifully points out to you and – each and every one of you individually because of your deeply ingrained sense of separation from one another – lights your paths forwards towards your awakening.  Often you follow that guidance as if in a trance, wondering why you are thinking and behaving in this way in this moment.  And yet, deep within yourselves, you sense that you are being divinely guided, and so you are coming to trust that this seeming uncertainty that you are experiencing will, nevertheless, greatly assist you in dealing with whatever personal issues are arising for you.  And everyone presently incarnate is dealing with demanding and or painful personal issues, issues that need to be resolved so that you can awaken.  And your success in doing so is divinely guaranteed because you are One with Source Who supports you in every moment, and therefore no other outcome is even remotely possible.

It also delights us now to see how many of you are accepting the divine and unalterable Truth of your Oneness with Source, even though as you live your human lives personal evidence of this is mostly not apparent.  It is all about Trust – total Trust in God – and daily more and more of you are starting to Trust fully in God’s infinite Love for you, and coming to awareness that only God is Real and that each of you truly is in every moment One in Union with Her.  These are magnificent signs of your collective awakening, even as the world around you seems to be erupting daily into more chaos and confusion, chaos and confusion that will pass as you move into a permanent state of Love, of Peace, and of Bliss, the true, eternal, and unchanging state in which you were created, and which you will then once again fully experience within yourselves and in the world around you.

To be alive is to be Love, however, owing to the fact that your physical state of form is so vulnerable, while you are in form it is therefore extremely difficult for you to accept this truth, because Love is unconditionally accepting and trusting, and your experience as physical beings is that trusting another can be, and often is extremely dangerous.  Your egos, which are essential aspects of your lives in form, are the apparently separate aspects or illusory identities with which most of you completely identify yourselves, and which you established at the moment that you chose to experience the unreal – a sense of freedom, autonomy, or independence – separation from your Source, Mother/Father/God.

This is terrifying for you to accept when at the depths of your being you knowthat there is only Love.  If you are not Love – and as humans it frequently does seem that to be Love is impossible – and if you could be separated from It, then you would cease to exist, because there is no other state of existence.  Deep within yourselves you know this, which is why the sense of individuality you experience as humans terrifies you, and why you need to have egoic identities to convince you that you are real and alive, and then, even as separate beings, you desperately seek confirming recognition from other ego-driven humans that you do actually exist – you need others to see and acknowledge you.

Therefore I want assure you yet again that there most definitely is no separated state apart from God, a state in which you could undergo an individual life threatened by and even experiencing the unreality of death.  Death is an illusory belief in the possibility that your lives could be and will be terminated when your bodies have deteriorated to a condition in which even the divine life force can no longer maintain them as working and operational vehicles.  Yes, your bodies will cease to operate, and you will lay them down as you move into the freedom that the total lack of any form of limitation offers you eternally.  Life is forever!  Bodies are but temporary containers for your beingness while you choose to continue experiencing the illusion of limitation and termination.

That choice has now been collectively reversed, as humanity’s awareness of the insanity of your ego-driven ways of interacting with one another becomes impossible to refute, because your history has demonstrated this time and time again.  Conflict is always destructive, there are no winners, and it always delivers intense pain and suffering to the most vulnerable among you. Finally sufficient numbers of you have decided “enough already!”

Humanity has most definitely made the collective choice to awaken, and it is an irreversible choice because you made it in Love and not through the changeable ego-driven will that is a major aspect of the illusion.  You are now fully aware that the illusion is an illusion, and your holy desire is to return to Reality as your individual and collective consciousnesses uncover their deep inner knowing and the memory of your true and eternal nature from which you had chosen to withdraw your awareness in order to experience (and enjoy?) the seeming freedom and autonomy of that unreal separated state.

Remind yourselves at least once each day of your true nature, Love, and each time reset the intent to be only loving whatever arises.  Doing this is enormously powerful, and it is bringing you individually and collectively to the most wondrous moment of your awakening.

With so very much love, Saul [of Tarsus]

Where misery is little, there lamentation is great; where suffering is great, there strife is little.

Trusting in life means neither quarreling nor complaining, recognizing everything for what it IS.

The following story has been handed down to us from the time of Laotse in China:

Once upon a time in a village there was an old man who was very poor, but was still the envy of kings – because he owned a beautiful white horse. A horse of such quality had never been seen – such beauty, such pride, such strength! Kings competed for the horse and offered fabulous prizes, but the old man had only one answer: “To me, this horse is not a horse but a man, and how can a man be sold?” No, that’s out of the question.” The man was poor and had every reason to succumb to temptation, but he never sold the horse.

One morning he suddenly discovered that the horse was no longer in the stable. The whole village got together and everyone said, “You got that, old fool! We knew it beforehand, one day the horse had to be stolen! And how can you properly guard such a treasure in your poverty? You really should have done better to sell the horse. You could have charged astronomical sums for it, any price you could imagine. Now the horse is gone. Now you see what a curse, what a misfortune it was for you.”

The old man said, “You don’t have to exaggerate! Let’s just say the horse is not in the stable. That’s the only fact; everything else is interpretation. Whether it is an accident or not, how will you know? How can you judge that?”

People said, “You can’t fool us; we may not be great philosophers, but you don’t need philosophy here either. It is a clear fact that treasure has been lost, and it is unfortunate.”

The old man replied, “I stand by it: the only fact is that the stable is empty and the horse is gone. Beyond that, I know nothing, misfortune or blessing – for such judgment is limited; and no one knows what is yet to come.” He was laughed at.

People thought the old man was crazy. They’d always known he wasn’t quite right in the head; otherwise he would have sold his horse and lived in the lap of luxury… Instead, he made his living as a lumberjack. Although he was very old, he still cut down trees, brought the wood out of the forest and sold it. He lived hand to mouth, having only the bare minimum and never really enough. But now they finally realized that he was crazy.

After a fortnight the horse suddenly came back one night. It hadn’t been stolen, it had just wandered off into the wild. And not only did it come back, it also brought twelve other wild horses with it. And again the people got together and said, “Dude, you were right; we were wrong. It was not a misfortune, but a blessing. We’re sorry for blaming you.”

And the old man said, “You’re going too far again. Can’t you just say that the horse is back and that it brought twelve other horses with it? Why are you judging? Who wants to know if it’s a blessing or not? It’s just a snippet and if you don’t know the whole context how can you judge? How can you judge a book if you’ve only read one page? How can you judge a whole page if you’ve only read one sentence of it? How can you judge the sentence if you have only read one word of it? And what you hold in your hand is less than a word – life is so infinite. You have only a fragment of a word in your hand and have judged the whole world. So don’t say that this is a blessing, because who knows… And I’m perfectly content with that, that I don’t know. So please leave me alone.”

This time people kept their mouths shut. Maybe the old man was right again. So they didn’t say anything, but of course they knew secretly that he was wrong. Twelve glorious horses had come back with the one horse! With a little break-in, they could all be sold and fetch a lot of money.

The old man had a younger son – it was his only one. This son now began to tame the wild horses; a week later he fell off one of the horses and broke both his legs. Again the people got together… They said, “You were right. What you suspected has been confirmed once again. It wasn’t a blessing, it was a misfortune. Your only son lost his legs! Who shall now be the support of your old age? Now you are poorer than ever.”

The old man said, “Can’t you stop your judgments for once? You’re going too far again – just say my son broke his legs. No one knows whether this is bad luck or good luck, no one. It’s just a fragment again and we never get to see more than fragments. Life only shows itself to us in fragments, but we always make our judgments about the whole.”

A few weeks later it happened that war broke out with the neighboring country and all the young men were drafted into the army. Only the old man’s son stayed behind because he was a cripple. The people came together, weeping and lamenting, because the young men were taken by force from every house. And there was no chance that they would ever come back, for the country that was at war with was a very big country and the battle was lost from the start. So they wouldn’t come back…

The whole village wept and wailed, and they came to the old man and said, “How right you were, old man! God knows how right you were – it was a blessing. Your son may be a cripple, but at least he’s staying with you. We will never see our sons again. At least he’s alive and with you, and little by little he’ll learn to walk again. Maybe he’ll limp a little more, but he’ll be fine.”

The old man rebuffed, “It’s just impossible to talk to you people. You just can’t let it go – these judgments forever. Nobody knows anything! Just say your sons were drafted into the army and my son wasn’t. But whether it is a blessing or a misfortune, no one knows. Nobody will ever know. God only knows. (Osho, The Sufi Way, p.48 ff)

Everything serves my growth!

Everything is an event on the path to perfection that I am walking now. Rain, sun, hail, lightning, thunder alternate, but my inner state of mind remains unaffected. Because I trust in what IS now.

Everything serves me and everything promotes my growth. That’s what I trust and that’s how I stay at peace.

Far too quickly you slide into frustration and hopelessness. You are quick to become discouraged and feel drained of your strength.

• Trust what is!

• Trust that life will take care of you.

• Trust in your power.

The key to a fulfilling life is trust in life.

Events are waymarkers that provide the necessary orientation, but they are by no means firmly anchored, inevitable or even unchangeable facts – subject to the passage of time, they are one thing today and another tomorrow. Don’t hold on to it. Gain distance from it and reflect, for everything comes to you, and accept what is given to you – trust!

Whatever happens – familiar! Doesn’t rate. Don’t be misled into any judgement.

What is now has meaning, purpose and provides for your growth.

Today’s suffering is tomorrow’s joy – the transformation of the being creates space for this change.

Trust what is. The second key to understanding one’s own life is given.

Love the Unknown

As the world shifts before your eyes and finds a new reality, many of you remain stuck in habits, programs and beliefs.

Day after day, like blind chickens, they follow the trail that they already know and that obviously has nothing new in store. Thinking, feeling and acting are all based on what is known, on the “experience” of the old days, and so you attune yourself to a life that is tantamount to slowly dying.

“No human being worthy of being human is predictable.” There is also a beautiful story about Buddha, shortly after his enlightenment; he went from one village to another:

“It was summer and very hot. He came to a riverbank. The shore was sandy and wet and Buddha left footprints on the sand. A little later, by chance, a great astrologer passed by, on his way home from Kashi, the stronghold of Hindu learning, where he had just finished his studies. He could now predict the future flawlessly. So on the way home he saw the footprints in the sand.

He couldn’t believe his eyes because according to the scriptures these were the footprints of a great emperor, an emperor who rules the whole world: “How come an emperor – a chakravartin* who rules the whole world – such a poor village at one so hot day to visit? And barefoot at that?”

(*Chakravartin denotes an ideal, comprehensive ruler in the Indian religions; note JJK)

But the footprints were clear and left no doubt. So he thought: ‘Either all my science is wrong, for apparently this man is a beggar, although according to the books an emperor, even the greatest emperor in the world; So either my science is wrong or I need to track down this man. Maybe he really is that emperor and some coincidence brought him by here.”

So he followed the footprints. Buddha sat under a tree. As the astrologer approached, he only grew more confused. The first glance told him that he was looking at an emperor – but there sat a beggar.

Buddha had the character of an emperor throughout.

He was emperor like no one had ever been before. But in rags – as a beggar!

So the astrologer asked: “Please put me out of my confusion – you have completely confused me. I studied in Kashi for fifteen years; it seems I’ve wasted fifteen years learning the art of divining the future. Now I’ve just finished, I’m a qualified and certified astrologer, and you’re shaking all my art. Please tell me: are you a beggar? Or are you a chakravartin, a great emperor who rules the whole world?

My existence depends on your answer. If you tell me you’re a beggar, I can throw away all the books I’m carrying here and they’ll be worthless. Into the river with them! And I can go home empty-handed – fifteen years in vain! Or else you are a Chakravartin. Please say me.”

Buddha opened his eyes and said, “Your confusion is understandable. But as luck would have it – you have met a man who is the only exception among ten thousand. Your writings may apply to nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine people. Just not on one. But you won’t come across this one again, so keep your books, don’t throw them in the river. It’s next to impossible that you should encounter that single exception again.”

The astrologer asked: “What is your secret – how is it that you evade interpretation?”

Buddha replied, “By awareness.

I never repeat the same mistake, I never repeat the same pattern. I have become human. I’m not a machine anymore. YOU cannot predict what I will do next. The next moment is unknown. Not only for you, but also for me. He is absolutely unknown. He will surrender – no one can foresee him.” (Osho, the Sufi Way, p. 160 ff)

To be alive

The fear of the new, of the unknown, inhibits you and you prefer to trust the old patterns and remain inert – lifeless and far from the flow of life.

As the world changes, many of you make no attempt to change yourselves by being curious about new realities. That means facing life, that means living, because that’s what life brings. This development, which has undoubtedly started now, cannot be tackled with the old perspectives and habits.

The amazement, the daring, to try something new, to reinvent yourself, to look at the world with new eyes, to look anew at the path you take every day and to recognize the changes, that is necessary now, otherwise you will fall asleep deeply of the unconscious a continuation. Awareness is only possible if you open yourself to the unknown! It is to become like children and not remain like adults, frozen in the eternal ice of fixed ideas, fixed assumptions and ideas about life.

Life is alive – constant change. No moment is like the other, no day repeats itself.

But how many days do you repeat? How often do you experience the same and the same? How attached are you to your habits without breaking them?

As the people around you change, you still believe that they are as you knew them then. Your fixed images, run in and stuffed into drawers, prevent every new encounter and exclude every new observation. Even those who are really close to you, you do not believe in change, change and progress.

“He/she is just like that, you know him/her!” I hear you say that and in this way you are lost and you will not grow one iota, become conscious, clear and awake.

Thinking new thoughts, speaking words from a new mind and taking actions on a new basis, contemplating each moment, unbiased and awake, innocent and observing. This is awareness, this is life, this is love. Anything else means slow dying, years of suicide, the installment plan with death.

Life means experiencing every moment innocently, always looking at it with new eyes, even if it seems so familiar through repetition.

Trust people to make any change!

Trust that this is the only way that the changes that are about to happen can happen. Without this confidence you block this development and it scrapes your life.

1. Expect the unknown with curiosity and interest!

2. Do not fear it, for life itself is what takes care of you – not the ingrained patterns of life you have previously attributed it to.

3. Rediscover your fellow human beings! Trust them as well as you every, absolutely every realization – everything is change!

4. The flow of life brings movement, uninterrupted change, for all life is change. Yesterday doesn’t count, neither does tomorrow – only the now!

Remaining in the usual and entrenched ways of thinking and living means staying away from life. Know this and enjoy the experience of the unknown. A new life awaits you, rebirth as a fully conscious being.

Everything is change, you can ignore this, so you are destined to live a life of stagnation, but if you open yourselves to it, you will receive the insight, the knowledge of the masters. Because then you are master and the knower in one. Inseparable in unity with God.

The seventh key of life, which is exceedingly important for this time – if the door to this knowledge remains closed, life itself cannot open up to you.

Throw overboard what has so far led you to believe that you are safe. Get rid of the habits of thinking, feeling and acting and gain new insights.

Life takes place beyond that and is a daily wonder at how everything changes, how everything moves and how good it feels to trust the unknown.

For it is through these “foreigners” that God works. He, the Eternal Familiar, works through the unknown to make us grow and raise our awareness.

Once you understand that, a life principle is grasped. The principle by which every change in the universe is described, for everything is change – constantly, from the beginning to the end of time and into eternity.
