Know Yourself

Know Yourself

Thought Adjuster Is The Teacher

Thought Adjuster: “Your journey of spiritual progress will allow you to know yourself better and better. This way, you’ll be able to see more clearly where the weaknesses in your character lie. This may not be pleasant, but it is necessary and also very useful, as it will allow you to face these feelings with greater clarity and overcome them. This is part of the ‘price’ that must be paid by those who venture on the path toward perfection.

Although unfounded optimism can be dangerous, it would be beneficial for you to cultivate an attitude of hope and confidence in the face of challenges. Your fears are unfounded and completely within your control. It is you who decides how to feel about the things that happen to you. A failure — or even a success — will not affect you unless you decide it will.

Human beings, throughout their journey toward the Father, will face challenges and uncertainties repeatedly. This is a natural process in a creature who is progressively opening to more expansive and elevated realities. There is much in the universe that now seems like a great dark abyss due to your ignorance and the limitations of your current material state. This will not always be the case, but you must constantly leave behind what you consider safe and familiar to seek what you haven’t even imagined yet, relying solely on the assurance of your Father’s guidance and care.

Wouldn’t it be wise to adopt this exploratory attitude and sense of adventure while you live here in this world? Surely, this is the only way you will explore new opportunities and discover hidden potentials within yourself. You cannot grow if you limit yourself to what you currently know. That is why the Father is pleased to see His children explore and grow in the universe, for in doing so, they prepare themselves to fulfill their eternal purpose. The opportunities you pursue in this world are not as important as cultivating a spirit of exploration and the desire to strive to be better, — more like your Heavenly Father and more useful to the entire creation.”

The Gift of Loss

The Gift of Loss

By Matt Kahn

Posted on February 14, 2024

Of all the gains I’ve had the honor of acquiring, it’s the losses I am most grateful for.

Not because it’s a nice spiritual thing to say or because I imagine letting go of one thing makes space for something even better. I am grateful for each loss and its inexplicable ability to reveal deeper levels of courage, greater layers of character, and nearly invincible forms of humility.

These qualities arise in experience as a result of all the things I am willing to live without.

While there is nothing wrong with any degree of gain, it may distract from the evolution of our soul. This happens when something to receive becomes something to possess, covet, and control.

Because every experience that begins is only starting its voyage toward an inevitable ending, we learn to embrace beginnings and endings as two sides of a continuous, ever-evolving cycle of expression.

As the hand learns to remain open, allowing beginnings and endings, births and deaths, to come and go on their own rhythm of expression, a deeper grace begins to dawn.

We no longer seek highs or fear lows, but allow it all to be honored, received, savored, and taken as a journey. In this journey, only the wisdom and compassion of the soul shall live forever in timeless joy.

It is why, of all the gains I’ve had the honor of acquiring, it’s the losses I am most grateful for.

To each loss, unexpected change, and moment of death I’ve ever encountered: thank you for always knowing where to find me, so I wouldn’t dare to miss out on becoming the one I was always destined to be.

All for Love,

Matt

Embodying Integrity – Practical Application

Embodying Integrity – Practical Application

By Lisa Renee

Posted July 17, 2023

In the face of the current challenges we are navigating in this bifurcating world, it is increasingly important now to examine and live by our personal beliefs and value system.

This is a time to get to the deeper clarity on what reveals itself to be the guidelines to your truest nature.

In our context this would be consciously participating with spiritually beneficial behaviors that help to define a clear value system and guidelines, for building improved character and Personal Integrity.

Our personal values provide an internal reference point for what is discerned as beneficial, important, useful, beautiful, productive behaviors and actions, which we commit to for the purpose of developing ourselves and guiding our life.

Our personal values are what motivate and generate our behavior and actions, they are what influence the choices we make in everyday life.

Understanding ourselves enough to have clarity on what we give value to in our personal value system, is critical for building Personal Integrity and discerning whether the actions we take are aligned with those values or not.

Each of us has to choose the kind of person we want to be in this world, whether we decide to wear the mask others have provided for us, or act independently to discover what we really value and how to think and feel for ourselves.

When we are committed to cultivate higher attributes of our moral character through the practices of compassion, kindness and embodying personal integrity, we will naturally attract genuine people into our lives that hold value for these same qualities.

False Friends And Fake People

One of the most difficult and painful lessons many newly awakening people have on the spiritual path is discernment, or the ability to clearly identify the shiny glamour of appearances that is generally behind fakery and fake people.

We tend to be unaware of fake people that use false friendliness towards us when we are unclear about our personal value system and the ways to practically embody personal integrity.

We encounter many different kinds of people throughout our lives, and for those of us committed to spiritual growth and the building of meaningful relationships, it becomes increasingly important to discern when people are being genuine and when they may not have the best of intentions.

Fake people with surface smiles or people lacking self-awareness tend to attract more fakery and false friends as the result of the lack of clarity they have in directing their own lives in alignment with a personal value system.

When people are confused or unaware of the necessity to shape their own personal value system, they lack self-awareness, and tend to be oblivious of how their dishonest actions may influence others.

Fake people generally provide a reflective mirror highlighting certain areas in our lives where we also may lack self-awareness, providing an opportunity to shine a light on blind spots for mastering our egoic lessons.

If we can recontextualize false friend situations when we felt betrayed or when we discovered fake appearances in others as an opportunity for increased spiritual growth, we can convert these unpleasant lessons into a powerful means through which to gain stronger discernment in order to see the red flags immediately.

The emotional danger of connecting with fake people is that we can more easily misplace our trust in someone we thought was a genuine friend, and when that trust is broken, we may perceive that to be a significant betrayal.

Emotional and spiritual betrayals can be devastating in such ways that can leave us emotionally shattered when we experience what we perceive to be a great betrayal from someone we trusted.

In these moments, if we surrender to the painful situation as a lesson for intuitive discernment in order to be able to see people’s true moral character and genuine intentions more clearly, we may increase our intuitive ability in all interactions we have, which builds the qualities of trust.

Building trust within ourselves and knowing how to build solid, genuine and trustworthy relationships takes some personal effort directed towards self-study in exploring personal integrity made through daily self-reflection and meditation.

Through our meditations we direct compassion to ourselves and compassion to others, reflecting on the positive qualities we want to grow in our lives.

We achieve greater self-awareness by paying attention to our thoughts, behaviors and reactions, so that we get crystal clear on where we place our attention.

With this clarity we can then further refine our value system to stay aligned to what is meaningful in order to remain true to ourselves.

It may be a powerfully positive process to review your core values, so that you can see how you are evolving and transforming, as you stay better aligned to your own personal value system.

What Values Motivate My Life?

What are the most important Personal Values that motivate my life? Choose up to five of the most important core values that feel the most essential to live authentically and express your highest purpose.

Then focus upon those themes that you have chosen and evaluate if you are practicing and increasing these important values throughout your life.

Maybe upon deeper reflection or in the future you’ll find that your most important personal values are shifting, or are revealing differently in order to become more specific in their quality.

The more specific we are in identifying our core values, the more accurate and clear we can be when applying those to the behaviors that guide our life.

As an example, let’s say through deeper self-study you have identified a recurring pattern that makes it hard to feel confident in valuing yourself when in the company of intimidating people.

One of the core values that you choose is to Value Yourself equally to others, no matter what happens.

To make this an important guideline in your life will help strengthen personal behavior to value yourself while in intimidating situations, which increases Personal Integrity.

Once you’ve defined some of your most important personal values, then inquire on each one to evaluate how you can better align your thoughts and behaviors with the meaning and quality of each value.

Practical Application of Embodying Integrity

In the process of completing a personal integrity self-assessment and consciously choosing your value system based on what you know to be true for you, now is the time to take conscious steps every day to behave in ways that are consistent with your personal values.

*Identify the behavioral traits that need to be addressed and are required to change.

*Determine the underlying reasons why you have not behaved with greater personal integrity.

*Observe the obstacles and other people that are used as excuses to lie or violate your personal values or moral code.

*Commit to build authentic relationships through greater truthfulness, honesty and being open and direct.

*Compile a list of tasks and behaviors in which you dedicate to become more trustworthy and honest.

*Protect your basic human rights to be authentic and protect the rights of others, by respecting the decisions and opinions of other people.

*When possible, be of service to others and live as an example for embodying truthfulness and integrity.

*Be willing to honestly self-assess progress on your commitment to personal integrity, making adjustments along the way.

*Look for the support of others who are inspiring examples of personal integrity, and have similar goals and personal values to be honest and trustworthy.

*Develop Accountability for personal behaviors and actions, and if you make a mistake that impacts others or you break a promise, be willing to admit it and apologize.

The world is rapidly changing during these stages of bifurcation, as the negative polarity and positive polarity spirals are becoming more extreme and amplified in the external.

In order to stay deeply connected into our core self, and to withstand the massive impact of these opposing forces colliding, we must take conscious steps to embody personal integrity.

The Parable of the Back Yard

The Parable of the Back Yard

Kryon of The Magnetic Service

Through Lee Carroll

Posted on June 15, 2023

Greetings, dear ones, I am Kryon of Magnetic Service. I promised a parable earlier today and so again my parable will feature the character named Wo. If you’ve not heard of this before, Wo represents every Human. Wo is not a single gender, but rather Wo is Wo-man. Wo is both genders. However, in this case, we will call him a “he” because it makes sense in your language to do so.

In some ways, this is a story that some of you will recognize, yet in some ways it’s also fully metaphoric. Now, dear ones, parables always have a message. Parables will always be metaphors designed to represent other things. Sometimes we’ll explain what these metaphors mean and sometimes we won’t. However, as we go on this specific journey, we wish to explain a few meanings as we proceed.

I’m going to give this parable a name: Wo and His Backyard.

Right away you might feel that this “backyard” isn’t really a physical backyard and you’d be partially correct. In a moment, we’ll tell you more about the meanings. However, in my partner’s culture a physical backyard is the space behind a typical U.S. home and many listening to this message have one. Some still have the ones they grew up with.

Let the story begin: Wo had a backyard and all through his life it was really important to him. Like so many of you who also had a backyard, you might remember it clearly from your childhood if you lived in one place long enough. Many of the things that took place in that yard are very important within the memory of your youth.

Perhaps you may remember your own backyard because when you were small, it was where you played. You may remember the things that were added to it through the years and the things that stayed the same. Some of those things were your stability and perhaps you counted on them to stay the same. The backyard in this particular parable represents Wo’s reality. For you, this backyard also represents your reality, how you think, and how you handle things in your life.

Of course, your reality is shaped early on when you’re very young, and in Wo’s case he remembers it very clearly. He remembers the day his father brought the tree. The tree was already big to Wo, and dad brought a piece of equipment that now Wo knows was a backhoe. His father dug a hole with this machine and put in the tree. Wo remembers that the whole reason for the tree was for Wo! He loved that! When Wo was almost five, he remembers his dad saying, “Wo, this is going to be your personal treehouse and when you’re a little older, we’ll build that house together.” Indeed, that is what happened.

A number of years passed, and Wo watched that tree grow. The branches became larger and they could eventually support being climbed, so in time his father and Wo began slowly building the treehouse. When finished, it was a strong and splendid one!

The treehouse, dear ones, represents childhood in this parable. In Wo’s case, it was a good childhood filled with good memories and he remembered it very, very vividly. He remembered details as many of you also do. He remembered something that he laughs about even to this day – when his father built the treehouse, very slowly and ceremoniously, he found two oil barrels (more like trash cans actually) that were open at the top. His father then turned them upside down with the open end in the dirt and put them by the tree in order to support a part of the treehouse – the entrance.

Now what’s significant in this is that through the years that followed, the barrels stayed. They were convenient and stayed put even after the treehouse was gone. Even into Wo’s adulthood, the barrels stayed in the same place. This was because they were ultimately functional. They became a picnic table, an occasional table, and with a plank of wood on them, they held the food for his parties next to the tree where people wanted to sit for the shade. If Wo had a big project in the backyard or he wanted to build anything, the barrels supported the entire project. The barrels never moved.

Interestingly, some of the neighbors noticed this and joked, “Is Wo ever going to move those barrels?” Wo would tell them, “No, I don’t think so. They are permanent.” Eventually, the neighborhood joke became this: “In the future, one of two things will happen: Either the rapture will come or Wo will move the barrels.” The barrels didn’t move.

Dear ones, in your backyard, in this parable, you’ve got barrels, too. You never move them. You can’t easily move them and you never really even think of moving them, because they represent the core truths of your reality. Question: In this story, did Wo put the barrels there or did his dad? That is a metaphor for Wo. His father represents some meaningful, important person in his life. You have the same in your life. There was someone who taught you things that ultimately became your truth, your stationary reality, and a belief that you never move from. The reason? You use these stationary, unmoving barrels, this truth, all the time because it works for you and always has. The tree, of course, is your constant stability and the barrels (truths) are never far from it. It will stay the same all your life and is your core security.

Now, let me alter the story a bit and tell you about the playhouse. Here is where we get a bit gender specific and more realistic for the women hearing the story. Wo got a treehouse because that’s what boys want, but Wo also got a fine standalone playhouse because that’s what girls want. His father and friends built him/her a playhouse. Remember, we told you that Wo is a Wo-man? Wo is both genders in this parable. So, we must consider that he/she is also a small girl as well. Wo also wanted a playhouse. We are now honoring the idea of gender details in this story as well, and what children of different genders often desire. The backyard is complete with both a treehouse and playhouse.

The backyard is also representing the inner child of Wo, and all of you. It’s the place where the birthday parties were held as you grew up, marking your life’s advance. The treehouse and playhouse were where you played house or where you pretended to make meals. It was a fort, a house, a workplace. It was many things. The backyard then becomes your childhood, your life and your belief system. The tree? It keeps growing and it can support anything. That’s what you hang on to, because there are certain things in life that you must know are solid and unchanging.

Wo’s tree was there long after the treehouse was gone. He was hanging on to that tree in his life and it grew and grew, and pretty soon that tree was enormous. In fact, it was almost as big as the backyard itself! It became like a canopy as in a forest, shading the entire backyard.

Wo would go into the backyard as an adult and would grab his drink and his straw and he’d sit there in his chair. “Sigh… this is the life.” His mind would be peaceful and he would think, “This is good and everything around me is good.” He would sit and reminisce in his mind, “I love this tree and the barrels. Thank you, memories, for being there. The treehouse is gone, but the playhouse is still here. Thanks for that, too. I have participated in it all and it is my life.”

Now, Wo was realistic, and he also had negative things happen in his backyard, but he was a good, balanced person and didn’t think much about those things. He remembers the rats. He doesn’t like to think about saying, “We have rats,” and, of course, he knows they do not come from his yard. They come over or under the fence from the neighbor’s yard. Now Wo isn’t going to tell the neighbor that because he likes and appreciates his neighbor. Wo thinks, “There are certain things you don’t tell your neighbor and your friends. You don’t tell them about their rats, you don’t tell them how to raise their children, or that they are not color coordinated or have no taste. You simply love them.” So Wo always felt he could deal with the rats in his own way. They’d come and go, and although he didn’t know how they’d come under or over the fence, he always just dealt with them.

The rats, of course, represent the ugly challenges in life. They are the things that you look at and you don’t want to deal with, but you do anyway. Sometimes, in some backyards, there are just too many rats. That’s when a person may go into dysfunction and stress. That’s when Humans go into poor health. However, Wo had a good, balanced concept of life. He was a good Wo-man and dealt with the rats as best he could – mostly from not thinking about them.

Then there were the snakes. Now, Wo didn’t have any idea how the snakes were getting into his yard, but he understood that snakes would go under fences so that’s how they were doing it – smart snakes. Thankfully, there weren’t many, but when there were any at all, he became afraid. He hated snakes and didn’t want any part of them. He would go in the house and hide and call somebody else to get the snakes. Then when it was over, he would come out.

In this story, the snake represents the fear of something you can’t fix. It was the fear of death, incurable disease or the fear of whatever it is that’s beyond the rats. Wo would say, “I know how to deal with these things. I just get rid of them, don’t think about them, and then eventually return to the place where I can sit in the chair with my drink and I can sip it through my straw and say, ‘I’m okay, I’m okay.'”

The Big Shift

All was good and stable until a certain date, and then came the earthquake. Wo can remember sitting there sipping his drink knowing that everything was just fine when the earthquake hit. Oh, it rumbled and it swayed, and he felt the big tree next to him crack like a gunshot. A branch or two slammed down onto the playhouse, causing it to lean slightly. Everything was disturbed all around him and it was frightening for the moment. Wo was pleased that he was not hurt, and he discovered his neighbors were not hurt either. He looked around, and although everyone seemed safe, there were some major changes and apparent damage.

Wo looked around to gauge the condition of everything. The tree looked a little different; the playhouse was at a little different angle, although it seemed to be okay. But he needed help to know for certain.

Soon the inspectors came. These are the ones who are in charge of safety for the backyards. They make the rules. Now the inspectors in this story represent authority. But this is a parable, so anything is possible. Sometimes authority pushes you to do things that then become an awakening. Sometimes authority isn’t really as it seems. This was the kind of authority that can cause change. Now, get ready for this: Some of Wo’s neighbors did NOT have the earthquake! No wonder they were fine. That tells you a little bit about the unspoken things in a parable, doesn’t it?

You see, much like those who might be listening or reading this, Wo was an old soul. Wo was a good Wo-man. Wo had a consciousness that was ready to evolve, and he was a fine spiritual and gentle Wo-man. This earthquake shook up his backyard but wasn’t even felt by some of his neighbors. Perhaps some of you understand this?

The inspectors came and they said to Wo, “Let’s talk about the tree.” Wo immediately reacted, “If you’re going to tell me the tree has to go. then you have to go. The tree stays no matter what!” The inspectors were kind and tried to calm Wo. They said, “No Wo, the tree can stay. It’s a good tree. However, it’s too heavy to be safe.” Then they gave Wo a lesson about how Gaia takes care of its trees. They reminded Wo that in the forests of Gaia, trees naturally are pruned through fire, insects or whatever is natural to allow them to survive. However, if a Human plants a tree outside of the forest environment, that person is then responsible for what Gaia would normally do. The tree needs to be pruned regularly for health and longevity. “Wo, you should have pruned it all along, so it’s now unstable and needs to be reworked.”

Dear ones, if you are understanding this parable so far, you are seeing that Wo has gone through a shift, and that “pruning the tree” means that his reality needs to be adjusted to the energy he is living within, not the energy from his past. Depending upon who’s here and who’s listening, pruning the tree means you may have to re-evaluate your reality on a regular basis. Wo has not done that and most never do. “The tree” has always simply been “the tree”; however, suddenly it has become something that needs to be looked at.

Wo said, “I understand, but I don’t want to watch. Will you assure me the tree will still be alive when you are finished?” They kindly replied, “Yes Wo – not just alive, but in a new condition where it’s going to live for decades more, even past your own life. Wo, the tree is the tree. It’s a beautiful tree and we would never hurt it. We’re just going to prune it so it can grow better.”

When the pruning was finished, Wo came back, and he didn’t know what he was going to see when he walked into the backyard. He opened the back door and fell to his knees, weeping. They hadn’t pruned it, they’d killed it! Of course, this was not the case, but Wo had never seen a large tree after it was pruned, so he was not aware of what to expect. There was no more canopy, and seemingly there were no more branches. Everything seemed to be gone.

Of course, over time the tree continued growing and new growth replaced the funny-looking pruned tree. Also, Wo realized later that bugs no longer dropped in his drink (something that had always happened with the canopy)! There also were no more stinging bugs (who also lived in the canopy)! Wo noticed something else as well: The nice canopy shade was gone, and now he had to get sunglasses – way too much light! Let this metaphor not be lost on you right now. As you prune the reality from that which you clung to from the past, there will be more light in your life and far less irritation and stress from an old canopy of seemingly protective branches. The canopy didn’t give you shade. It was a nest for an unchanging attitude, and it harbored its own growth of negativity. It shielded you from light and wonderful new truth. It was an unpruned tree.

The inspectors, who increasingly were being seen as more wise than authoritative, then said, “Oh, Wo I hope you didn’t mind but in the process of pruning the tree, we had to move the barrels.” Wo turned green.

“OMG, you moved the barrels?” Wo cried. And they said, “Yes.” Wo looked around to see if the rapture had come, and perhaps he hadn’t noticed (the neighborhood joke). They moved the barrels!

The inspectors continued, “Wo, when we moved the barrels, we noticed something. Did you know that you had a nest of snakes in there?”

Wo couldn’t believe it. “What? The snakes were under the barrels?”

“Yes, Wo,” the inspectors replied. “They were under the barrels all the time. Did you ever look under those things? How many years have they been there, Wo? There were many things there that only live in the dark, which we needed to clean out. It looked as if the barrels hadn’t been moved for decades.” Then Wo realized that for his entire life he never looked under the barrels. That’s where the snakes were coming from all along.

Look at the metaphor, dear ones. The truths and ideas that you would never touch – the absolutes in your life – are the things that “your father” put there for you. If you had moved them, it would almost be a travesty to his memory. You just don’t move those things that are so important to you. Perhaps it’s not your father, but instead it’s your pastor or your priest or the professor that you respected so much? You see? Those barrels don’t move because that’s a tribute to their memory. Yes, under the barrel were the snakes, because the barrels were never moved.

Things in an older energy can fester, become stale, and even become untrue with new discovery and new thought. If you cling to the past, even if the ideas originated from those you love and respect, you close yourself into a closet of old thinking. The longer you never move the barrels, the easier it is to continue in an old paradigm of thought. Here is a truth: God is the same today, tomorrow and forever. But our discovery of our relationship to God changes as the light gets brighter.

The inspectors were not finished. “Wo, I’m sorry to tell you this, but that playhouse is something you’ve got to get rid of. We could fix it, but it’s going to cost too much. It would be better if we just got rid of it. It would have to be completely rebuilt. It doesn’t really have a foundation, since it was built for you as a child’s toy. It’s going to fall on you.” Wo was numbed at this idea. However, logically he understood and told them to go ahead. So they took it away and cleaned up after.

When Wo came back the next day, it was gone. He met the inspectors, who he was getting to like more and more, and they discussed how the project had gone.

“Wo, you know it was harder than we thought to remove that playhouse.”

“Why is that?” Wo replied.

“Well, it’s because you had a rat’s nest in there. How long has it been since you actually went in there? Why did you keep it if you didn’t use it?”

Wo went silent. The rats weren’t coming from the neighbor’s yard at all. They were coming from his childhood playhouse.

I want you to look at this metaphor, dear ones, for there are those of you who still have the memory of “the playhouse” and you will not go there. Someone along the line told you, “If you’re going to be an adult, then act as an adult. Stay away from childish things. Stop laughing like a kid or getting excited like a kid. Don’t get on your hands and knees like a kid. You are now a responsible adult and you must put away things of your childhood and not revisit them.”

Dear ones, listen! If you visit your inner child on a regular basis and make it part of your adult paradigm, it will save your life! Your inner child is who you are. That’s the beauty of being a child. The innocence of a child is precious and pure. Going to that inner child place and playing on a regular basis makes you younger and chases the rats of depression and anxiety away. It is the most balancing thing a Human can do – laugh and enjoy, as though you were a child again.

Wo realized he had never gone in that playhouse as an adult. Wo was an old soul and he was balanced, but he had ignored these things and just let them become stale, thinking that they were too childish. He clung to the memory, but never revisited it in his reality. He didn’t laugh much either, as he now realized. The metaphor of the rats and snakes is obvious, for without any care taking of these things, Wo allowed them to stay in the dark and allowed ignorance to grow there, which needs the darkness to exist.

The inspectors left, and Wo actually missed them. It was as though they were guides and not inspectors. They had helped Wo find himself after the earthquake. Of course, the inspectors were not authority at all, but the God within and the introspection and awareness of an awakening consciousness. It was the beginning of “oneness” where all things become visible for what they are.

Eventually over time, Wo found himself in the backyard sitting in his lawn chair with his drink and his straw and his sunglasses. The sun was bright, but this allowed him to see something else right away – color! The flowers were coming out, flowers he had not seen all his life. The new light in his yard gave him so much comfort and warmth.

Wo realized that all things were okay. The tree? He could still grab it and hang on, and it still supported him just as always. The new branches were wonderful and colorful and gave a different kind of shade. They were branches that were growing within Wo’s current lifetime. They were Wo’s branches and not the ones from his past. His security tree came from his own ideas and his own intuitive discoveries about reality. He also was not afraid to prune them regularly. This was no longer his father’s tree.

In Wo’s mind, the playhouse and the treehouse were still there. He could remember them and he could laugh and would squeal in delight as he remembered the hours and hours he played there. He even redesigned them in his new imagination to be even more stellar than they were.

The barrels? The inspectors hadn’t taken them. They just moved them. So, Wo had them removed. Hey, who wants old barrels in their backyard, anyway?

—————–

That’s the parable, dear ones.

How’s your backyard? How many of you felt the earthquake? Now let me give you another secret. The earthquake is different for all of you. It was yesterday for some; it was 2012 for some; it’s tomorrow for others. The metaphor of the earthquake is something that shakes the foundation of your belief, but it doesn’t have to be negative. You can leave this place and understand all of this before you go to bed tonight. You can also start a journey of discovery where these things will slowly be revealed. Each person is unique.

You might have a profound epiphany as you sit here. “I recognize my backyard and it’s not pretty. I don’t want an earthquake to shake me up. I just want a pruned tree to work with.” This is the statement from the wise old soul who understands this: “I don’t have to get to zero for me to get it. I’m ready for revelation now, as I have increased awareness of who I am and who I have been. Spirit, show me new light in my life.”

There will always be some who will have issues within their lives that will take them to a place where they must face things that they didn’t want to face. Some will cry out to God, “What have I done wrong? Why is this happening to me?”

I’m speaking to somebody in the audience.

“I’m a good person. I’m a good old soul, and I believe in the things that are being taught here. Why is this happening to me?”

And here is the answer: It’s because you’re way too stubborn and you know it. It’s because you need to be shaken awake by this and you’re going to come out the other side with light. It’s because your tree needs to be pruned, but not killed. You know what I’m talking about, dear one. But it’s mainly because God loves you so much that you are being given the opportunity to live longer in joy and health and to make a difference to this planet. God knows your name. This is how it is for each Human. You are absolutely, elegantly different in every single way, but all of you have a backyard and a choice to change it.

Ponder these things in the light of the changes on the planet and the changes that may occur in your consciousness. I return to the message I gave this morning: When you start to analyze who you might be on the planet and what you might be here for, the answers are beautiful and profound. Teacher Prolotheos: “You are primarily responsible for who and what you are. Early in life – between the ages of 5 and 6 – the human character develops, but only with maturity does it become truly sound. Good and bad influences certainly count, but decisions are the major factor. Character reflects some unique, unchangeable, and innate personality traits, but it also shows some changeable characteristics of the Self, formed through life’s decisions. Personal decisions can make a character good or bad, but good decisions spring from good principles. Honor your good principles, and they will honor you. Let’s take a look at some principles that strengthen a good character.

“Sincerity. Objective truth may many times be out of reach, but sincerity makes you truthful to yourself. Sincerity, unaided by love, is nothing more than a way to throw your ego or temper upon others, regardless of the consequences. Sincerity is to be honest, authentic, truthful with words and actions. Sincerity is a personal moral effort towards truth. Evil is never sincere because truth is incompatible with evil, since it springs from deceit, error and falsehood. Sincerity can be mistaken about content, but must be truthful in its intent – goodness. Hypocrisy will damage your character, but sincerity will make it reliable.

“Fairness. When on Urantia your Master said, ‘You will be judged with the measure you have judged others’ and ‘Treat others as you would like to be treated.’ God is our supreme example of fairness because ‘He is no respecter of persons.’ He perfectly consider all factors involved and renders a perfect judgment. To you, in your present spiritual development, He says, ‘Treat others as you would like to be treated.’ Practicing the Golden Rule strengthens your character with loving consideration of others, because a good and strong character strives for fairness in all dealings to its best knowledge.

“Goodness. Love is basically expressed by goodness. Goodness is the main strength of character, because love never causes harm. Rather, love always seeks the ultimate well-being of the loved ones. To help make your character strong, goodness cannot be seen as an option, it must be your passion. A character built with love refuses to consciously practice evil and always insists on making good. Goodness cannot simply be a strategic move. More than being politically correct, it strives for being divinely good, following the paramount examples of our Creator Son. Goodness is indeed the indispensable ingredient of a ‘good character’.

“Therefore, my pupil, the virtues of a strong character are also the virtues with which the Spirit Within will strengthen and grow your soul. Those are the values that will remain with you throughout your morontia and spiritual careers, even for eternity. Equally important, these values will make your life on Urantia worth living, with a clear conscience of striving for the best and showing it to the best of your ability. They will not make you perfect, only eminently sincere, fair and good – which is what is needed. This is from Prolotheos, your celestial teacher. Peace to you all.”

Brandenn Bremmer: Why Did This Talented Child Prodigy Commit Suicide at 14?

Brandenn Bremmer: Why Did This Talented Child Prodigy Commit Suicide at 14?

By Janey Davies, B.A. (Hons)

Child prodigies like Brandenn Bremmer are rare. They are astoundingly gifted in certain areas, but because of this, they are taught with much older children.

They can become isolated from their peers, have no friends their age, and be thrust into an adult world before they are mentally equipped. It’s not surprising, therefore, to learn that some child prodigies have problems adapting.

One such talented child was Brandenn Bremmer. He had an IQ of 178, he taught himself to read at 18 months, played the piano at 3 years old, and finished high school when he was ten. He killed himself when he was 14. After his death, speculation arose that he killed himself to donate his organs.

Who Was Brandenn Bremmer?

Brandenn was born on 8th December 1990 in Nebraska. When he was born, for a worryingly short time, doctors couldn’t find a pulse. His mother, Patti Bremmer, took this as a sign he was special

“Things were different right from then. It’s almost like my baby died, and an angel took his place.”

Childhood

Patti was right. Brandenn Bremmer was special. At 18 months old, he taught himself to read. By three years old, he could play the piano and after attending kindergarten, he decided he didn’t want to go back.

Brandenn was home-schooled, finishing his junior and senior years in just seven months.

Patti and his father Martin kept a watchful eye on their gifted child, but mostly allowed him to make his own decisions:

“We never pushed Brandenn. He made his own choices. He taught himself to read. If anything, we tried to hold him back a little.”

At six years old, Brandenn began attending classes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Independent Study High School. He became the youngest person to graduate when he was ten years old.

Former principal of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Independent Study High School, Jim Schiefelbein, remembers Brandenn Bremmer well. Brandenn loved Harry Potter and dressed up as the literary character for his graduation picture. The former principal remembers that after Brandenn spoke to the attending news media, he played with the other children at the graduation.

His mother said that Brandenn could talk to anyone:

“He was comfortable with a baby and he was comfortable with someone 90 years old.”

She added, he “had no chronological age.”

Ambitions

Brandenn had two loves in his life. Music and biology. He wanted to become an anesthesiologist, but he also loved composing. When he was 11, Brandenn enrolled at Colorado State University at Fort Collins to study piano improvisation. In 2004, he composed his debut album ‘Elements’ and toured Nebraska and Colorado to promote it.

Brandenn was making a name for himself on campus and beyond. A music professor introduced Brandenn to physics instructor Brian Jones, who ran an outreach physics project for junior high school pupils.

Brandenn started taking biology classes at Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte, Nebraska. He planned to attend the University of Nebraska and graduate at 21 to become an anesthesiologist.

Character

Everyone that met Brandenn Bremmer had a good word to say about him.

David Wohl was one of Brandenn’s professors at Colorado State University at Fort Collins. He last saw the teenager in December:

“He wasn’t just talented, he was just a really nice young man,” Wohl said.

Other professors have described Brandenn as ‘reserved’ but not isolated or withdrawn. His physics professor Brian Jones said:

“I never would have worried about him at all,” Jones said.

Family and friends talk about Brandenn’s easy nature and that he was always smiling. Brandenn seemed like an ordinary teenager, but it was obvious that there was something special about him

Suicide

On 16th March 2005, Brandenn Bremmer shot himself in the head in an apparent act of suicide. He was just 14 years old. His parents found him after returning from the grocery store. They immediately called the local sheriff’s department who ruled the incident a suicide, despite the lack of a suicide note.

Speculation surrounding Brandenn’s death began when Patti, clearly in shock and grieving, stated she had some comfort knowing Brandenn’s organs would be donated. She believed this is why he committed suicide.

“He was so in touch with the spiritual world. He was always that way, and we believe he could hear people’s needs. He left to save those people.” – Patti Bremmer

Brandenn had always expressed a desire to donate his organs, but he had shown no signs of depression, nor had he spoken about killing himself in the weeks leading up to his death.

You could say the opposite was true. Brandenn was making plans with friends; he was preparing the finishing touches on the artwork for his second CD. He was also getting excited about becoming an anesthesiologist.

So, why did this gifted and amiable young man commit suicide? Patti insisted her son was not depressed:

“Brandenn wasn’t depressed. He was a happy, upbeat person. There weren’t sudden changes in his behaviour.”

His parents searched for a suicide note, anything to help them understand what drove their son to make the ultimate decision to end his life. They knew it wasn’t an accident; Brandenn was familiar with gun safety. His demeanour hadn’t changed, his world was stable.

Was Brandenn Bremmer’s Suicide the Ultimate Act of Sacrifice?

When Brandenn was 14, his parents sought advice from the Gifted Development Center, run by Linda Silverman for child prodigies. Linda and her husband Hilton knew Brandenn and spent time with his parents. Linda believes gifted children are ‘morally sensitive’ with ‘supernatural’ qualities.

On hearing the sad news of Brandenn’s suicide, the New Yorker spoke to the Silvermans. Hilton said:

“Brandenn was an angel who came down to experience the physical realm for a short period of time.”

The reporter asked Hilton to expand on his statement:

“I’m talking to him right now. He’s become a teacher. He says right now he’s actually being taught how to help these people who experience suicides for much messier reasons.”

Hilton went on to explain that Brandenn’s life and death were preordained and that this ending was meant to be:

“Before Brandenn was born, this was planned. And he did it the way he did so that others would have use for his body. Everything worked out in the end.

But not everyone agrees with the Silvermans or Brandenn’s parents. His closest friends described a period around Christmas when Brandenn admitted to being depressed

Brandenn Bremmer and Depression

A female friend known as ‘K’ spoke to Brandenn and asked what he had done over Christmas. Brandenn replied, saying ‘nothing, as a family anyway’. Later he emailed K again:

“Yeah, that’s kind of what it’s like here, I mean, we’re a close family … we just don’t spend much … time … being … that … way … Yeah.”

K had sent Brandenn a Christmas gift which arrived during their email exchange. He emailed her to say thank you:

“Your timing couldn’t have been better, for the past week or so I’ve been depressed beyond all reason, so this was just what I needed, thank you very much.”

K was suitably worried so emailed immediately:

“Talk to me, I want to hear about it. Because trust me, I’ve been there, done that and all I got was this lame t-shirt. Just let me know, okay?”

Brandenn wrote back:

“Thanks . . . I’m glad there’s someone who cares. I don’t know why I’m so depressed, before it was just every now and then, and you know, it was just “bummed out” depressed. But now it’s constant and it’s just, “What’s the point of living anymore?” I don’t know, maybe I just don’t spend enough time around good friends like you.”

Brandenn expressed his frustration with living ‘in the middle of nowhere’. He spoke of a nearby family he was close to, but everyone else were ‘just plain idiots’.

Although Brandenn’s mother may take comfort in thinking her son gave his life so that others could live, his friends would say that Brandenn felt isolated and lonely.

He did not have the kind of family life he wanted and his depression was worsening. He may well have wanted his organs to be donated, but I don’t think this is why he decided to commit suicide. He lived an extraordinary life, with few friends and felt he couldn’t talk to anyone.

Final Thoughts

When someone dies, particularly if they have committed suicide and left no note, it is natural to want answers. Grieving family members and friends want a reason, they need to know why, or if there was anything they could have done to prevent it.

If Brandenn had let someone in to help with his mental health, who knows what this brilliant young man would have achieved.
