Nodal Points and The Train Station

Nodal Points and The Train Station

By Dreama Vance

Post on 10/25/2026

Although there are many in the world still functioning in an unconscious state of awareness, most of us “spiritual seekers” have, at some time in our life journey, awakened to the realization of One Source. We become cognizant of One Source of energy that animates life, that runs through all of existence, giving life, sustaining life, being Life itself.

I call this “becoming conscious.”

We become conscious of this energy and become conscious of the journey we are on in this life. This awakening period is a nodal point. Nodal points are significant events that occur, intersecting timelines and offering opportunities for branching into different trains of exploration.

Once we become conscious of our spiritual life, we begin to explore this realm. It is, in a very real sense, a time of falling in love. When in love, the world is made new. It is awash with sunlight, no matter the weather. Grouchy people, snarled traffic, all go unnoticed as we float in this happy state of new love. So it is as we begin our conscious exploration of spiritual life. Our eyes are starry as we experience the marvels of this new way of being. We stand in amazement as miracles roll out at our feet.

Just as new love changes, however, so does our spiritual journey. Although love remains, the path is not always smooth and easy. Bumps appear in the road. The observable world edges back into our reality. We run into road construction, have to take detours and may experience accidents and delays on our journey.

Somewhere in our journey, we reach the second nodal point. There are many different life experiences that can bring us to this point, but bring us it will. My sister used to say, “Until you can stand naked on the hill, you will not know yourself.” This is, indeed, the second nodal point. It is a time where everything we think we are, have, and hold dear is stripped away.

It is not necessarily a crisis of faith that brings us to this point. Indeed, it may even be our faith that leads us here. Nevertheless, it is a place and time where the external factors that we use to define ourselves are removed from us, either through our own choosing, or by other factors. However we arrive, we find ourselves standing utterly alone on that hill.

This is a metaphor, of course. It does not necessarily mean you will be alone. It means you will have to stand alone, stripped of the trappings we use like clothes. In this nakedness, only you will be able to know yourself, to know who you really are.

I was given wonderful wisdom during that time in my own life, which I pass along to you because it still, many years later, stands me in good stead:

“You can choose to focus your attention on what is behind you. You can worry about it, regret it, be angry over it, or sad about it. Or, you can focus your attention on the future. Infinite possibility stretches in front of you. You can look forward with anticipation and excitement over what is to come. It is entirely your choice.”

Hmm… look back and be miserable, or look forward with anticipation. I think I’ll choose the second option, looking forward. If you, too, choose to look forward, then this nodal point offers another period in time when we see with new vision. We see with new clarity. The world is again made new.

You can easily see that you are still on your spiritual journey. It is, however, as if you have taken a step up to another level of consciousness. The world looks different. You are different. In this next part of the journey love deepens. Our consciousness matures. Life, with its ups and downs, joys and heartaches, develops us. Through it all, it is almost as if we are driven to go deeper. That inner part of our heart cries out for deeper connection. The lotus of Truth begins to unfold our understanding. Once again we come to a nodal point.

We find ourselves again standing naked on the hill. This time, however, we stand in our power. We stand in stillness while the storm rages around us. We can look back and see the progress we have made. Indeed, we can see the spirals of our life and identify those nodes.

I am reminded of an analogy about The Shift that I heard in the mid 1990s. Someone described this period of our history as a train station. We would each have to choose the train we wanted to be on for our future. Would we choose a spiritual train? Or would we take a train remaining in the third dimension? Would factory farming and pharmaceutical drugs still reign supreme on your train of choice? How about boundaries and walls… TSA security lines and genetically modified food? Which train will you board? It is not just a political agenda.

As the trains leave from the station, they are all close together and we can choose to hop over to another one. But, as the trains go farther away from the station they branch away from each other and soon it is no longer possible to change trains. Eventually, you no longer even see the other trains.

I had forgotten this depiction, but we are now many years down the road. The train I am on seems to be taking me to a very different reality than what I knew and understood at the train station. The external world looks different to me. Structures such as governments that once appeared as foundations of integrity now seem like a mirage. I look outside the train window and it is as if I am in a foreign land. Who are these people in the news? Who writes these stories? Truth and decency seem to evaporate like mist outside of my window. Already I feel as if I no longer know this external world.

But the world on the spiritual train, this destination, the journey itself, is exciting! It is clean, and new, and bright. It is full of joy where living food and plant medicines nourish us with light. People know the truth of their being and recognize it in each other.

It is infinite possibility!

What train have you chosen? Choose the future you want now and hop on board!

Seeding Consciousness

By Dreama Vance

December 28, 2025

The New Year always brings the hope of new beginnings, new resolutions, and new inspirations for the year ahead of us. It is the time when we make choices for what we want to accomplish, set plans in motion for how we want to do it, and start with good intentions and excitement.

There really is nothing more important in life than developing our spiritual consciousness. We do this primarily through meditation, but also by reading and listening to spiritual teachings. Through the study of spiritual teachings, we learn spiritual truth, what we call the letter of truth. As we learn these principles we can begin to pull them into our experience as we begin to put them into practice. It is only through our practice of these spiritual truths that we begin to develop our spiritual consciousness and it is through meditation that we begin to shift our intellectual knowledge of truth from our head down into our heart, into what I call the Abiding Place, (taken from Biblical scripture, "Abide in me, and I in you.")

Let me just sidetrack here a moment and talk about meditation. People meditate for all kinds of reasons and in many different ways. They practice mindfulness, do breathwork, do "moving meditations," all kinds of different techniques and reasons are called meditation in today's world.

For me, the purpose of meditation is to "know God aright," to develop that "mind which was in Christ Jesus," to look within to the Infinite Invisible to experience Grace. It is all about God, learning the nature of God, and experiencing awareness of the Presence. This is the first part of meditation and I call it and develop it through Contemplation. Pick a phrase, a favorite scripture verse or spiritual idea to contemplate and focus your mind. Allow yourself to think deeply on the topic and allow ideas to come to you. Revelations will begin to come to you. Then the second part of meditation, the true meditation, is the stillness. You have settled your mind through your focus and attention and then you enter the stillness. Now instead of thinking and concentrating, you develop what I call the listening ear. You listen for that still, small voice. You probably won't literally hear a voice, but you will in some way become aware of a Presence. You may release a sigh, or draw a deep breath; you may feel lighter, as if a burden has been lifted. You may simply become aware of the stillness. You may experience what I call the "fruits of the Spirit." I often feel that "peace that passeth understanding." Feelings of love, joy, contentment, are other fruits you may experience. The fruits of the Spirit, however, begin to manifest throughout your day, not just in your periods of meditation. They are, indeed, the fruitage of your practice.

Now, just to be clear, the still, small voice does speak. Sometimes it speaks so softly that if you are not listening, you will miss it. I have received very clear directions when I was really not thinking about anything, like when washing the dishes, or riding a bus. I think as we develop our spiritual consciousness, we realize that Presence is always with us, is there for us, guides us and is always communicating with us.

Now, back to the point of the article: Seeding Consciousness.

Choose a trait you want to develop this year to enhance your spiritual consciousness. Write the word on a prayer stone or a small rock and place it where you will see it every day. I put mine on the window sill over my sink in the laundry room. The window looks out over the area where we feed the deer and I use that sink to prepare cat food and wash my bird feeders, so I am in there often during the day, looking at my stone when I am also looking out the window. Every time I look at my word, I think about that quality. Just doing that begins to seed consciousness. If you also have a daily meditation practice, just take a moment before you begin your practice and think about your word for the year. You don't have to dwell on it, just think about it for a moment and let it go.

It is such an easy and fun thing to do and it is very powerful. Next Winter Solstice, when you reflect back over 2026 you will see the work your seed word did during the year.

Many blessings for the New Year!

Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice

By Dreama Vance

December 21, 2025

December 21st is Winter Solstice for the northern hemisphere. It is my most favorite day of the entire year!

Yin energy is at its peak and calls us to settle down with a warm cup of herbal tea and reflect on the past year. It calls us inside ourselves to contemplate, meditate, and rest in the reassurance of the Presence.

You can feel this energy pulling you. The energy calls you inward. It is one of the reasons we experience so much stress during this time of the year. We are running around madly, busy as can be, exactly opposite of what the energies of Nature are calling us to do. When we are in harmony with the Earth and her energies, we move into flow and grace. Stop and rest today. Be still and quiet your mind and allow reflection.

I have been reflecting during Winter Solstice for several years now. As I reflect on the past year, a single word or phrase will come to consciousness that identifies the energy of the year just lived. It will be the theme or topic of experience that life has given me in my journey.

QiGong by Sifu Anthony

In January of this year, I started a new Qigong course with a new teacher. One of the many benefits of this class was I actually started practicing every day! It is absolutely amazing what practicing every day does, no matter what skill or habit you are trying to develop. I have been studying Qigong for many years now, but my practice was inconsistent. So I can speak of the difference that I see as a result of daily practice for almost a year now. It is like the difference between night and day! In fact, I would say I have learned more and benefited more from this past year than all of the previous years combined, just because I practiced every day!

This one concept, “Practice Every Day,” has such profound impact, that I hope you will take it to heart and apply it in your own life to what you are working to develop.

Applying this “practice every day” to daily meditation is life changing!

One of the benefits I noticed both in my Qigong practice and in my meditation practice is this: Your practice changes from something you “make yourself do” to something you love doing! It happens rather quickly, too. Can you imagine loving meditation?

Here’s the second benefit from daily practice both in Qigong and meditation: The benefits from each begin to build exponentially. Daily practice carries more impact than the same number of days practiced randomly.

The third benefit is this: What you learn and achieve begins to move out into your daily life. In other words, the benefits that you experience during the practice of Qigong or during your meditation don’t just last during that time period. Those benefits begin to grow and blossom and they start to manifest in the rest of your daily life. Your life begins to reflect more peace. You find yourself remaining calm in spite of discord. You find yourself responding with compassion instead of aggravation when others are ranting.

It is amazing really!

This concept of daily practice has expanded into other areas of my life once I figured out the many benefits. You start your daily practice with small, easy, doable short periods of practice. With Qigong, I started with two minute drills and, with meditation, you can start with three to five minute periods. This is your foundation. Soon you will find yourself naturally expanding the time without effort. You can start just about any habit this way. The key is establishing the habit. To do this, practice every day. That is the goal – every day practice – not how long you practice. Like I said, the time will increase naturally as you practice daily.

You can do this with just about anything you want to develop, like an exercise program, or journaling, meditation, or even cleaning the closet! You can even create changes in your diet, like with my favorite, starting a daily juice program!

Daily practice has been the theme running throughout my past year and indeed, the results are so powerful that I will continue to use this technique when starting anything new in my life. The energies of the year are never discarded in the new year, but instead, they add to the wisdom of our experience of life and continue to light our way.

I hope you will take the time this Solstice to go within and allow Spirit to reveal what your word or phrase has been this year so you may explore what you have learned and the wisdom you have gained.

As we reach the tipping point of inner, still, Yin energy, it begins to flow into Yang. May your word or phrase of this past year be a light to the beginning new Yang energies as they start to become active and begin to flow as we move into the New Year.

Many, many blessings to you!

Take It Slow and Easy, but Do It!

Take It Slow and Easy, but Do It!

By Dreama Vance

May 4, 2025

Last week we talked about eliminating processed foods from the diet. This one step, in and of itself, starts a healing journey for the body.

You see, the body is designed to be self-healing. Have you ever cut your finger and done nothing to help it? Did it heal? The Divine energy that is within us, that is us, has intelligence. It is what beats our heart, draws our breath, causes our blood to flow and our food to digest.

The body is designed to maintain homeostasis, or balance.

So what happens to throw the body out of balance? How do we end up with such things as heart disease and arthritis?

In the world of natural health, illness or disease is deemed to result from either 1) toxicity, or 2) a lack or depletion, usually of nutrients. We also now know that there can be a mind-body-spirit component involved, but for now, let's stay focused on the physical.

In Dr. T. Colin Campbell's book, The China Study, he divides disease into two types: Diseases of affluence (nutritional extravagance) such as cancers, diabetes, coronary heart disease; and diseases of poverty (nutritional inadequacy and poor sanitation) such as pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, and parasitic disease.

You can easily see that processed food would weigh heavily in the toxic category and would also weigh in under diseases of affluence.

When you stop consuming something harmful, your body will naturally begin to release and detoxify, start the healing journey, and find its way back to balance. This applies to both harmful foods and harmful thoughts.

I know many of you are already on this journey and are quite conscious of your diet; however, I continue to be astounded to find wellness educators, energy workers, and others at work in the healing field who appear to be oblivious to this information. I want you to know just how important your diet is, how wrongly informed we have been, and how to start coming into alignment with natural law and the wonderful results that happen, at all levels of our being, when we do. My purpose in writing these articles is to lay a foundation here for you to use in creating the life you desire. We all want health and vitality!

There are many resources out there now informing us of this healing way: Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn and his work on heart disease, along with his son's, The Engine 2 Diet, created to assist his fellow firemen. Then there is Dr. T. Colin Campbell's work and his son's involvement in the documentary, Plant-Pure Nation. These are all people bringing information to the public that nutrition and the choices you make about your food play a foundational role in your health. Disease does not just befall you. We have created it, through our ignorance of truth.

The legendary raw foodist Dr. Fred Bisci said in a one interview about people's diet today, "Humanity has fallen into darkness." It was a poignant statement. I continue to have friends, old and new, who look at me as if I'm from Mars when I suggest that diet changes could help them with their fibromyalgia, their cancers, their arthritis, or their blood disorder. Dr. Bisci's statement just about broke my heart.

The good news is you can take action because you now have information and you can help loved ones in your family. Two principles in "The China Study" are relevant here.

Principle #6: "The same nutrition that prevents disease in its early stages (before diagnosis) can also halt or reverse disease in its later stages (after diagnosis)."

Principle # 7: "Nutrition that is truly beneficial for one chronic disease will support health across the board."

It isn't that hard. We don't need a different diet for every disease! Every one of the people mentioned above have books and information available that are easily doable. If brawny firemen in steak-central Austin, Texas can get rid of meat, dairy, refined and processed foods and go plant-strong, anyone can.

All of the above people have proven success records and their recommendations are not extreme. The raw and living foods diet has a defined healing diet within it and there are other benefits that arise out of this type of diet that relate to spiritual clarity, but with the exception of serious life-threatening disease, much progress can be made by choosing whole foods and plant-strong diets, which are in the middle of the dietary spectrum.

I want to talk for a moment about Dr. Fred Bisci because I love his work for so many reasons. He is in his 90's and has been a raw foodist for over 50 years. Very early on my path of exploration into the raw food movement, I got to hear him speak to a small group of about 25 people. He believes strongly in the spiritual foundation of life. He is a PhD nutritionist and has had a long clinical practice, working with many who are sick and ill and those referred by medical doctors.

Although he is a raw foodist, he designed specific diet recommendations to meet people where they were on their individual journey. He developed what he called the Intermediate Diet with a focus on what you leave out (processed food) as well as what you include, such as fresh, raw, organic food and a moderate amount of cooked food.

I promised to list some of my own tips for making the transition, so here are a few ideas to get you started:

DO IT - Drop One, Include Two.

Drop One processed or unhealthy food from your diet. Include Two practices that promote health.

Just choose one thing to eliminate and two things to add. Focus only on this for a month. By then, it becomes a habit. The habit continues, but you don't really pay much attention to it, rather like brushing your teeth, you just DO IT!

Next month you will choose again - one thing to eliminate, two good things to add. Focus on those for a month. It becomes a habit. Slowly, over time, you very successfully and easily change.

You don't really need me to tell you what is unhealthy or what to eliminate. But here are some ideas for adding the good things.

1. Start your day with a 16 oz. glass of good, pure water and the juice of half a lemon. After a while you can add another glass of plain water so that you are getting a quart or liter of water in the morning. This helps flush the system and hydrate the body.

2. Eat some fresh raw fruitor vegetables with every meal. It is very easy to go all day without eating anything raw or fresh. By focusing on adding something fresh to each meal and eating it first, we start to pay attention to consuming live, energy-rich food.

3. Make your snacks raw. My husband decided to give up his afternoon soda pop. Being a Brit, he likes tea. So he replaced the soda with a cup of tea and an orange. This is definitely a step in the right direction! Fresh fruit, a handful of raw nuts and seeds, fresh veggie sticks all make great snacks. One of my favorite mid-morning treats when we are on the road is sliced apple with a small container of raw almond butter. Just dip and munch. Yum!

4. Have raw food for breakfast. This can include fresh fruit, fresh veggie juice, a smoothie, a green smoothie, raw granola or even chia pudding.

5. Every day, make one meal a salad meal. Have most of the salad fresh greens and add your favorite raw veggies for color. Then if you like, you can add some cooked veggies like potato or sweet potato, or steamed broccoli and carrots, or cauliflower, or add a scoop of cooked beans.

These are just some ideas to get you started or you can create your own healthy practices. The key is to get started and DO IT!

Soon, we will continue to build the foundation by taking a look at the bigger picture to include the planet, the soul and the mind!

Until then, enjoy delicious, health-promoting food!

Take It Slow and Easy... but Run as Fast as You Can!

Take It Slow and Easy... but Run as Fast as You Can!

By Dreama Vance

April 27, 2025

Evolving our diet is a process. It goes hand in hand with our spiritual growth.

As part of your path of spiritual evolution, it is best to take the evolution of your diet slow and easy, but keep moving in the right direction in a determined fashion.

The path of dietary evolution typically begins where a majority of people are, which is eating a Standard American Diet (SAD). Even other countries are now consuming this diet because Americans have managed to export it around the globe, thanks to the fast food chains and mega food companies.

The Dietary Spectrum

So, we have the SAD diet at one end of the spectrum, which promotes large quantities of meat, dairy, and packaged products that have a long shelf life, and are loaded with sugars, salt, preservatives, dyes and artificial flavorings. At the other end is a live food or raw vegan diet, which has finally, at least, hit the mainstream news, and is about as far from SAD as one can get.

In the middle of this path are terms such as the paleo diet, vegetarian diet, vegan diet, and macrobiotic diet. This is a broad overview. These are stations that people explore, usually in search of a healthier lifestyle, and/or for ethical reasons. These are usually lifestyle changes. These are the steps we explore as we evolve.

Within this spectrum are sprinkled various "diets" that people go on, usually to lose weight, such as the South Beach Diet. These "go on a diet" choices are not intended to be lifelong, but rather short term to achieve a desired effect. These short term diets are not really the topic of this article, but I will say they only work short term, and that is because people revert back to their original eating style, rather than making a lifestyle change.

So I hope you have a pretty clear picture of the spectrum with the SAD at one end and the living food or raw food diet at the other end. You can see now how we evolve the diet. You can see that it is a process. Most people do not go from a SAD to a raw vegan lifestyle overnight. In fact, it is not even something I recommend.

Many people may never want to go as far as that goal of a raw vegan diet. It is, however, a bright star to hold in your consciousness as a goal. It serves as the anchor point for your direction. It keeps you on track and it keeps you moving, at your own pace, toward improvement and toward spiritual light.

A solid starting point

Out of the picture that I have just painted for you, I want to lift out a starting point for anyone wondering how to begin the journey and, for those of you already on the journey, I want you to realize that what I am about to say applies across the spectrum.

The number one thing you can do to start and to move forward no matter where you are on the path, is to eliminate processed food. I like to say, "Eat real food." Real food is what you find on the outer edges of the grocery store, labeled Produce. It is what you find at the farmers' markets. Processed food is all of the other stuff in the center of the grocery store, along with the paper products and soap powders!

It took me 30 years of study to figure this out. But, the first thing to do and the best thing you can do is this one step - eliminate processed food. Begin with the most obvious things - fast food and junk foods - and then move forward from there to the "convenience" foods. Advance as quickly as you can.

Now, for those of you who think you are already beyond this point, let me just suggest you take another look around your kitchen. You may be surprised at what you are holding onto in your life. Like I said, it flows across the spectrum; there are many processed foods in the vegetarian movement and in the vegan movement, too. When I went vegetarian back in the 1970s, there were no fake meat substitutes available. Consequently, and fortunately, I never made a switch to those products.

Like I said, the key is to "Eat real food." You will find people now making reference to this way of eating as a whole foods diet and, when animal products are also eliminated, it may be called a whole food plant-based diet. These are relatively new terms that emphasize the importance of eating whole foods and eliminating most of the processed foods.

Out of this decision to eliminate processed food, come two results. 1) You have to prepare your own cooked food and/or 2) you have to eat live food, otherwise known as fruits and vegetables. Fresh fruits and vegetables as a meal help save time and also add tremendously to your health, vitality and spiritual light.

Connecting with the light

You will find that when you move into this way of living, particularly when following a plant-strong whole foods diet, you become very conscious of what you are eating. Awareness begins to penetrate your food preparation and when you begin to honor all who have brought this bounty to your table - the Mother Earth, the Sun, the people, the bees - then you begin to prepare food with such love and gratitude.

You will be filled, not just with nourishing food, but with peace and beauty and harmony. These qualities will come through your food to bless those you serve. We have, to a very large degree, lost this in our hurry-up, grab-it-and-go, eat-on-the-run world.

Next week, we'll go over some easy tips on how to actually take this step.

We will also look at one of my favorite teachers and discover how healing Real Food can be for the body.

Children Of The Sun

Children Of The Sun

By Dreama Vance

December 29, 2024

I remember many years ago getting an email inviting me to join a group going to Machu Picchu, Peru. It was addressed to the Children of the Sun. As soon as I read those words, it was like a bell began ringing in my head! "Oh, yes!" I said, as I ran off to tell my husband we had to take this trip.

We are, indeed, Children of the Sun. Our life on Earth literally revolves around the Sun. Winter Solstice is my favorite day of the year. It is the longest night for those of us in the Northern hemisphere and the deepest and fullest yin energy, that natural energy that draws us inward to deep reflection. Then we move, literally, toward the light. The Earth tilts back toward the Sun.

I love the rhythms of the Earth. When we first moved to Florida, we would jump up every morning and race off to the beach to walk first thing in the morning. Over time, as we did this every day, I began to notice a rhythm, not just the tide coming in and going out, but also what would come in, or appear in the shallow waters. It was like different things had a season. For several weeks there would be a type of shell, and then they would be gone and replaced by starfish, or manta rays. Also, over the years, we noticed the shoreline changed and buildings that used to be far from the shore were closer and some that were originally near the water were farther away.

For about ten years we were snowbirds, moving to our mountain home in the summer. Here, too, I noticed that each summer we would have a different type of bird that was predominant. The first year it was hummingbirds. The second year there were Steller's jays everywhere. Then we had magpies the next year, and then for some unknown reason, the following year we had dandelions all over the yard and no particular bird!

If you have ever lived on a ley line, you will also notice the migration of birds, like robins filling your back yard while there are just two in your neighbor's yard. Again, you will notice the seasons of different things... one summer stick insects, the next summer moths, the next year lady bugs. It is fascinating to behold the wonders of Nature. I'm not even a gardener. I'm just watching out my window.

In March of 2020, (remember March of 2020?) I watched a pair of tiny chickadees build a nest on a beam over my porch. I have big sliding glass doors onto the porch so they were visible when I came around the corner of my stairs in the morning and from my kitchen when I was washing dishes or fixing food at the counter. So I watched them for days. They actually built two nests. I guess they didn't like the first one, so built another one a few inches away. I got to watch them everyday. The eggs hatched. The babies were fed. The babies began to explore outside the nest and then finally there was only one little baby left. He would fly off a little distance and then come back and sit on the back of my patio chair and just look out at my acreage out back. The patio is protected on three sides and provided shelter. I watched him doing this for a few days; it was like he was gathering courage to face the world. Then one day he didn't come back. I could hear him, though, when I was upstairs in my office. (And yes, just like a mother, you learn to recognize their sound.) This was a gift to me. While the world thought the sky was falling, I watched as Nature continued. The grass still grew; the birds still nested. The buds still bloomed into leaves on the trees. Spring still arrived.

The rhythm and harmony of Nature. You can close your eyes and feel it.

Take time in the stillness and reflect on your past year of spiritual growth. A word will come to you that describes it. Just let the word come to you. You may be surprised at it. It may be an epiphany you had this year, or it may be a gradual accumulation of a realization.

Then, let a word come to you that describes what spiritual quality you want to develop or focus on for the new year coming. Print or write it out and place it where you will see it every day.

I've been reflecting on the past year for many years and there is always a word that comes to describe what I've learned. But I've only been choosing a word for the New Year to come for about three years now. The interesting thing is that, at the end of the year, the word given to you on reflection is never the word you have chosen at the beginning of the year! However, I find that what I have learned at the end of the year reflects my practice of the word chosen at the beginning.

I hope you enjoy this practice and it gives you new insight on how you have grown in consciousness and brings you inspiration for the New Year.

She Walks in Beauty

She Walks in Beauty

By Dreama Vance

March 21, 2024

“She walks in beauty, like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies;”

This well-loved poem by Lord Byron is about a beautiful woman, but for me, it has always represented Gaia. Do you see the Earth as she dances, spinning across the starlit sky? Do you see her as she turns from dark to bright?

The poem goes on to describe her attributes of goodness, serenity, peace and calmness, implying an elegant, regal nature. Is this not Gaia herself?

Many years ago while visiting Big Bend National Park in Texas, I somehow quite miraculously fell in love with the Earth. In this isolated area, within a 24-hour period, I fell absolutely in love with her. I cried like my heart was broken when I had to leave and return to my normal everyday life. During that brief time, in the way of mystery, she called me to walk the beauty path.

If you fall in love with her and whisper your heart’s desire to also walk the beauty path, she will begin to reveal her secrets to you.

Teachers will come to you to share her wisdom. If you partake of this wisdom, you will find your life entwined with her heart, just like two lovers in an embrace.

If you can be still enough… if you can quiet your mind and open your heart, she will sing to you.

Her song will play upon your inner being, revealing to you such wonders. Majesty and grandeur beyond imagination – LIFE ever living, renewing. She carries the heart of every living creature within her own beating heart.

If you are quiet, you will feel that heart beat. Like a baby in the womb, carried under the heart of the mother, we are nurtured, held in comfort and safety. We are connected as our heart vibrates in rhythm with hers, becoming one heart.

As you shelter in her arms, as you partake of foods from the Goddess, she will teach you the beauty path. You will become one with her rhythms, breathing with her breath and dancing with her divine nature. Her wisdom becomes your wisdom. Her cycles become your cycles. The depth of her spirit begins to deepen yours. Her peace soaks into your being.

Life becomes so much more than our daily existence.

“She walks in beauty,” and so will you.

There is a Place

There is a Place

By Dreama Vance

December 17, 2023

There is a place within me. I call it the dwelling place. It is a place where I can sit down and just be. It is a place where I can rest. I can let go of all the cares and worries of the world. I can be quiet and shut out the noise of the day. So sometimes I call it the resting place.

It is a place. It is a place within me where I can go and be still.

Just for five minutes I can rest and be still.

I don’t have to pray. I don’t have to ask for anything. I don’t have to save the world and I don’t have to be spiritual. I don’t have to use the right words or the right techniques to find God, understand God or have God do anything for me.

I can just rest and be still.

Oh, it is a blessed place to just be quiet and not have to do anything.

As I rest in this place within my being, it feels like the lap of water against the side of a moored sailboat. That gentle rocking motion, so soothing. It flows over me, rocking me, soothing and calming. Like a babe rocked in mother’s arms, held close to the heart, the fretfulness falls away. Peace is restored. I can breathe again, I notice, as I release a deep sigh.

The dwelling place. It renews me. It restores me. I want to live in this place all the time. That is why I call it the dwelling place. I want to reside here, dwell here. I know such peace in this place. I feel beautiful here; beauty surrounds me.

I feel nurtured here in this place. All of the broken pieces of me are knit up. I’m not broken any more. I am made whole again.

I notice the Sun is shining gently, smiling on my spirit. Everything is gentle in this place. It is a place of ease and flow. Ease and flow. I call this grace. This grace flows through me and I am part of it.

It is my dwelling place.

It is my dwelling place.
