The Real Nature of Karma

 The Real Nature of Karma

by Owen Waters

Posted on June 8, 2025

As someone who has answered over a hundred metaphysical questions on Quora.com, they sometimes ask me to answer new questions. This one just came in:

Why do good intentions not always lead to good outcomes, and what does this say about the real nature of karma?

I posted my answer as this:

With karma, intention is everything.

Karma is a creation first and a reaction second. The process is automatic, so there is no invisible judge passing opinions upon your actions.

Every action you create adds its energy to your karmic pattern, which is an aura of magnetic attraction around your body. It attracts energy and circumstances similar to those you have accumulated through your creations.

If a person were to do good deeds simply in order to appear good to others, this manipulative intention would attract manipulative energy from others. With karma, intention is everything.

Even if a person's intentions are good, the outcome of their creation can still sometimes cause undesired problems. This is the way of life. We are here to make decisions and take creative action so that we can learn from the results, gain wisdom, and evolve.

Because everyone is unique, your decisions and actions add to the ultimate goal of the universe, which is to experience itself from an infinite variety of perspectives. The more uniquely creative your action, the more beneficial it is to this overall mission of the conscious universe.

Sometimes you may pause to reflect on whether to respond differently to the consensus of popular thought, knowing that courage will be required in some way, so consider this.

The primary reason for physical human life on planet Earth is to gain courage and, with it, freedom from fear. Once the first lesson is learned, the soul is free to move on to the next level of experience, that of embracing and understanding unconditional love.

The Nature of Change

One constant that you can count on in life is change.

Change exists because life is in motion, and motion is one of the three aspects of the original consciousness that underlies all of Creation. Everything in the universe springs from two complementary aspects of consciousness – thought and feeling – set into motion.

The existence of motion as one of the fundamental components of Creation guarantees that change is continuous. The point of life is to experience infinite variations of expression of the one underlying consciousness, Infinite Being.

Changes in Your Life

Major changes in life are rarely easy, but our very reason for being is to work through changes and experiences in life.

Today, changes are being accelerated by our being in the global transformation called The Shift. Many would say that today’s changes are intense to the point of becoming chaotic. In physics, chaos is a temporary phase between one natural state of harmony and its transformation into a higher form. The transition phase between the two states becomes very choppy until the higher form is reached.

Today, we are moving through the storm before the calm.

We are so beset by change that it can become hard to discern what changes are important and what changes are just societal noise which has little bearing on the real paths that we need to tread through life. It is here that a sense of inner direction becomes an exquisite asset.

Navigation Through Life

Sometimes your own purpose in life seems like an ever-unfolding saga. Like a journey across the seas by boat, your journey through life is made safe and direct by the use of a compass. In this journey, you have a built-in compass that helps you navigate in the most appropriate direction.

That compass is your sense of innermost joy. As an expression of your inner being, like a compass, your innermost joy points the way. When you think about the one action you could take right now which would move you towards the most long-term inner joy, you are seeing that course of action which is most connected to your inner being.

Because destinations in life are reached in steps or stages, your inner compass can actually point in seemingly different directions on different days. They key is to realize that the one task you can best address at any given moment is the one which is most aligned with your innermost joy.

Each step on a journey is different; yet, all steps lead to the final destination. If you are inspired to do one thing today and to do something different tomorrow, it is because those tasks are both steps along the pathway to the desired destination. Trust in the timing of your inner guidance. It’s wisdom comes from the part of you which is your connection to the universe and to Infinite Being.

Be attentive to your inspiration and the ideas that it brings. Make a note of these ideas as they occur and, in retrospect, you will be amazed as to how insightful they were.

P.S. To deal with life’s challenges using the power of your higher consciousness, see the proven technique in Soul Inspiration by Owen Waters.

Wholeness in the New Reality

Wholeness in the New Reality

by Owen Waters

Posted on January 19, 2025

Wholeness is integrity without the "shoulds."

Integrity, according to the dictionary, can mean wholeness, but it can also be interpreted in a way that carries a lot of baggage.

This add-on baggage includes self-defeating concepts like "should," "try to," and "high" standards. All of these concepts are facets of Old Reality consciousness.

The frequency of consciousness in the New Reality is heart-centered. Unconditional love comes naturally; you need only let it flow through your heart and allow that energy to be who you are.

When you shift to the higher consciousness of the New Reality, the universe reorganizes itself around you to reflect that higher reality. Externally-imposed rules are replaced by internal, love-based choices.

To become whole is to become harmoniously fully-functional. In such a reality, you treat yourself and others with unconditional love and care. To care less than that for yourself, or less than that for others, would mean being less than whole.

The keyword of the Old Reality was separation. The keyword for the New Reality is integrity or integration, as in a sense of wholeness. An integrated self does not have opposing parts which foster a loss of self-love and self-acceptance.

The Old Reality's view of integrity was defined by people who didn't want to be whole, and didn't want you to be whole. By separating people's beliefs into opposing, arguing, self-defeating parts, there was always room for someone "superior" to be in charge and therefore maintain the social order of that time.

In the New Reality, however, the frequency of consciousness is different. When you allow yourself to be in tune with the New Reality, you no longer strive to be separate from others, nor strive to maintain opposing, separative points of view within yourself.

The New Reality is heart-based. When you see fear for the hollow illusion that it is, and allow your heart chakra to open to everyone in your life, then your actions are determined by your unconditional love for others around you and, equally, for yourself. When your heart opens up to loving yourself as much as anyone else, then you want the best for yourself, just as much as any parent wants the best for their child.

The Old Reality sees love of self as an egocentric problem. The New Reality recognizes that, if Infinite Being - the essence within all things - is infinite love, then perhaps it's time to get in tune with the greater reality and wholly respect yourself. Besides, a heart-based reality is not an egocentric level of consciousness. It exists at a different frequency. To be specific, fourth-density rather than the old third-density.

Wholeness comes with a chakra shift, a shift of focus from the third to the fourth chakra, from the solar plexus to the heart. The fourth chakra channels heart-based, unconditional love.

With the shift to love energy comes wholeness of mind, body and spirit.

The shift to love is one big step in the direction of who you are, and who we all are. Remember, deep down inside...

We are all Infinite Being.

Seven Facets of Spiritual Awareness

Seven Facets of Spiritual Awareness

by Owen Waters

Posted on June 1, 2025

Life can be a treadmill of mundane details or it can be an inspiring adventure of uplifting experiences. Through the regular, daily practice of meditation, you can start each day by raising your frequency of consciousness above the mundane, work-a-day level into the spiritual realms of consciousness.

Here are seven facets of spiritual awareness which unfold as a result of daily meditation. Any technique will work. The Ultimate Meditation technique is particularly effective.

Spiritual Awareness Facet Number One – Flow

A sense of flow attracts synchronicity into your life’s events. This almost magical sense enables you to always be in the appropriate place at the appropriate time in order to gain the most out of the experiences that the complete you, your inner self, planned for this life.

Spiritual Awareness Facet Number Two – Unconditional Love

You develop a sense of unconditional love for the inner, spiritual essence of all the people that you connect with in your life. Even the difficult people, as they are often holding up a mirror for you to understand an aspect of past habits which, deep down, you would like to examine at this time.

Your sense of unconditional love naturally includes full acceptance of yourself, just as you are, with the personality that you adopted for this lifetime of experience. You can catch those old thought patterns of self-criticism and remember that you live in a universe which is naturally full of love and unconditional acceptance.

Spiritual Awareness Facet Number Three – Abundance

Accept abundance as the natural flow of the universe. Forget those opinions about there being something wrong with money. It’s a form of energy and the universe is filled with energy. Life gets a lot more convenient when you are abundant. It gets really inconvenient when you are not.

When you follow your innermost joy, you find yourself doing work that you love and find absorbing. When you find your work absorbing, you become very good at it, without feeling that it took a lot of effort to become that highly skilled. When you are good at your work, employers and customers alike hear about you by word-of-mouth recommendation and they seek you out. The more in-demand your services become, the more they are worth. Following your inner joy is the secret to finding and developing an occupation which brings natural abundance.

Spiritual Awareness Facet Number Four – Intuitive Insight

Both men and women find that, with regular spiritual practices, their sense of intuition develops smoothly and naturally. Soon, your insights grow to become very valuable in dealing with the challenges of life.

Spiritual Awareness Facet Number Five – Creativity

A growing sense of creativity becomes apparent when spiritual practices become your daily routine. You discover new ways to achieve results because you see situations from a broader perspective.

Spiritual Awareness Facet Number Six – Wisdom

Advances in spiritual wisdom and understanding come with deep meditation. In meditation, it is important to let distracting, surface thoughts dissipate so that deeper realizations may surface at the time that they are needed.

Spiritual Awareness Facet Number Seven – Raising World Consciousness

When you detach from worldly concerns and express a higher frequency of consciousness, the conflicts of the lower frequencies of consciousness become automatically healed. When you let go of any form of conflict within yourself, you are able to rise to a higher frequency of consciousness in a state of harmony and balance.

Higher frequencies of consciousness hold a higher power. Not just a slightly higher power. The power ratio of spiritual consciousness to conflict-oriented consciousness is many thousands to one. If you allow balance to enter your life through a spiritual state of consciousness, it will manifest immediately and very powerfully in your daily life. You will also be helping to raise the global consciousness in a very powerful and constructive manner.

The Meaning of Life

The Meaning of Life

by Owen Waters

Posted on July 21, 2024

Just as there were rules to understand in the Old Reality, there are rules which are best adopted when taking action in the New Reality.

The Old Reality was about gaining courage and developing intellect. The New Reality is about unconditional love and inner wholeness.

Wholeness is personally-inspired integrity without the "shoulds" that others may try to impose upon you.

The frequency of consciousness in the New Reality is heart-centered. Unconditional love comes naturally; you need only let it flow through your heart and allow that energy to be who you are.

When you shift to the expanded consciousness of the New Reality, the universe reorganizes itself around you to reflect that higher reality. Externally-imposed rules are replaced by internal, love-based choices.

To become whole is to become harmoniously fully-functional. In such a reality, you treat yourself and others with unconditional love and care. To care less than that for yourself, or less than that for others, would mean being less than whole.

You are an expression of Infinite Being as it experiences itself from all possible perspectives. Your perspective is unique, as is everyone else's. That is the point of the whole exercise - for Infinite Being to experience life from as many perspectives as possible.

Unity in Diversity

In order to best support this primary mission of human experience, we need to both celebrate our own uniqueness and support others in their efforts to develop their own skills and talents. Unity is our spiritual nature, yet it is found through celebrating our diversity in the common cause of developing our potential to the fullest.

The One is the All and, as parts of the All, we are essentially the One. At the deepest level of consciousness, we are Infinite Being.

Everyone's path is unique because that's the way life was designed. There is no one-size-fits-all philosophy. However, we can learn about the universal laws that will help us achieve our potential in life.

Your mind is non-physical and therefore has higher capabilities than your physical brain. Your mind is immortal and it grows with experience. We are each on our own pathways back to the One source from which we originally came. To get there, we continually grow in consciousness by experiencing life.

The meaning of life is to grow in consciousness.

Beyond the Eve of Destruction

Beyond the Eve of Destruction

By Owen Waters

Posted on November 5, 2023

As the New Reality eclipses the Old Reality of war and trauma, the old guard is seeking desperately to reclaim the power they have already lost. The "Powers That Be" in this world have already become "The Powers That Were." They're just trying desperately not to admit it.

Trauma - the attempted creation of mind-numbing fear - is their favorite tool for distracting people from the New Enlightenment. However, lightworkers see right through such bullying attempts at mass mind control.
With Zen-like non-attachment, lightworkers are empowered to remember that we are in this world but not of it.

The global mind atmosphere needs the powerfully balancing effect of our focus on higher frequency consciousness. We are faced with a constant supply of news that is intended to frighten us into thinking that the latest threat-of-the-month will turn into something bigger. The best place to start, if you haven't already done so, is by turning off the news!

You need to know that there is no risk of global nuclear conflagration. When we entered the atomic age decades ago, the karmic authorities responsible for this solar system decreed that widespread nuclear destruction will not be allowed by third-density humans against the seventh-density sacred goddess Gaia.

We are not at the eve of destruction. It is a time of awakening where people will finally say "No" to the last-gasp machinations of the Old Order and embrace a New Reality of love, peace and creativity.

As lightworkers we need to raise our minds daily, to detach from the illusions being presented out there and focus on the genuine reality that lies within us. We need to attend to whatever spiritual practices suit us best (preferably something with oomph like the World Healing Technique) and combine that with a daily study of spiritual materials.

The most popular, long-standing books for inspiration include Autobiography of a Yogi by Yogananda and A Course in Miracles. The Infinite Way by Joel Goldsmith will lead you deep into the mysticism of Christ consciousness. And, this is also a good time to complete your collection of books on spiritual metaphysics from us at 60% off while this one-time sale lasts...

A Thank You from Owen Waters..

A Thank You from Owen Waters..

by Owen Waters

A big Thank You to everyone who watched my first online video with host Sandie Sedgbeer of OmTimes Media and her No BS Spiritual Books show. Any comments you post on that YouTube page are especially appreciated.

As an experienced interviewer, Sandie managed to pull out information that never normally sees the light of day! I see that the video is now titled appropriately, "From Chaos to Creative Abundance," and it displays a message announcing,

"SOLVED! The Mystery of Why the Universe was Created."

This was referring to my 2007 encounter with an ascended master and revealed why I was (and probably others were) entrusted with spreading this new information.

That was just one of the big surprises in this interview, which started out by revealing how the term "The Shift" originated. Surprise, surprise, it came back in time from the future! Then, we got into some fascinating leading-edge topics like:

The true history of human life in this galaxy, starting with The Founders who created all the different versions of human life.

How you can help nature spirits to help you just by being sensitive to their energy.

How different parallel timelines gather together for a common experience of historically important events.

How research into clean energy was derailed for over a century by a faulty experiment.

How ET visitors who travel through the soul realms are fascinated by the fact that we live in what they call, "The TimeSpace Illusion."

How, in laboratory experiments, subatomic particles quite willingly prove that you can not only change your future, but you can also change your past!

Then, there's the mathematical proof of how lightworkers perform an enormous service to the planet just by their presence within the global mind atmosphere.

Finally, after being asked if I am hopeful for the future amid a world in chaos, I talked about how the coming global ascension will raise the world to a higher density and, in addition to the heart-shift, open up your telepathic and clairvoyant abilities!

The full interview is at:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FO3gIMtqAk

P.S. Please be sure to help out by posting a comment even if you've already seen it!

Where Were You 14 Billion Years Ago?

Where Were You 14 Billion Years Ago?

by Owen Waters

Posted on June 15, 2025

Before time was time and the material universe was formed, you existed in an ecstatic and creative world of light and sound. Today, we call that level of existence the soul realms.

The Earth was in existence, although not yet in material form. She was a child of the Sun, existing in her own cosmic realm and also in two more-dense realms. In these soul-level realms, you awaited with great anticipation the chance of the next adventure.

Bear in mind that time is not the same in the soul realms. We may think of it as billions of years ago but, in soul time, it was just another version of the great Now. Souls can move back and forth along timelines, inserting themselves in at any point along the way.

The Cosmic Plan called for the creation of material that would seem solid in nature. The playful soul realms of the fifth-density universe would be compressed deeper and deeper, all the way down to first density, where gases, rocks and physical elements would be formed.

These were exciting times - ones which had been foreseen right from the first breath of Creation. Imagine, solid matter, the building block of material life. Add to that the chance to create and evolve plant life in the next highest, second-density layer of existence and continue up from there.

Eventually, with the creation of plant and animal life, the concept of human existence would one day become possible. Imagine, endless individual sparks of the Creator streaming into an existence which, for all intents and purposes, seemed solidly physical.

In reality, even the hardest substance is no more than a compressed version of a field of consciousness, but it seems so real that it provides an excellent stage prop in the play of life, as do the plants, the animals, the clouds in the sky, and all the physical bodies of our fellow humans.

The entire physical world is a creation of consciousness and we are here, playing our parts as actors in the movie called life. In the underlying reality where everything is consciousness, we are souls dreaming that we are physical.

To make the adventure called physical life even more real, we have agreed to forget our immediate connection with the soul realms and to spend our lives working toward re-establishing that connection.

Once your soul connection is re-awakened, you have access to the greatest resource imaginable - your soul's link to the Divine source and the abundant nature of all Creation.

Built into the Law of Creation is the guarantee that you will be supported in all ways in your journey back to your spiritual source.

We live in a universe that was created to be abundant and supportive in all ways. The idea that there is a shortage of anything in this life is an illusion that comes with the idea that you are less than infinite in your potential to achieve anything. Such a limiting concept is just part of the game of life.

When you wake up to your inner being and forge that sense of inner communion each and every day, you will feel the flow of support and abundance that streams into your life from the soul realms of existence.

P.S. This week is a really good time to address the financial aspect of abundance and how to eliminate blocks to your spiritual self-sufficiency. The Money Course starts Tuesday.

The Summer of Light

The Summer of Light

By Owen Waters

Posted on October 1, 2023

The Summer of Love, 1967

While 1967 is remembered for the Summer of Love, the year 2023 may very well be remembered for The Summer of Light.

During the 2010s, most leading thinkers were quite content in the early stage of heart-centered consciousness.

They had found peace by abandoning pointless ambition in favor of meaning in life and vibrant relationships with others. They were exploring the heart-empowering value of cooperation and leaving behind competition and its effect of estrangement from other human beings.

Rather than becoming what others thought they should become in order to rank high in societal approval, they were homing in on personal purpose as a rising source of inspiration. It had long since become obvious that there was more to life than competing to see who would own the most toys when they die.

The emotional effect of witnessing human helpfulness was already arousing their curiosity by tugging at their heartstrings. Don’t you just love a helpful, honest person who wants the best for, not just you, but for everyone they meet?

The urge to care and connect was continually finding more opportunities to express itself. This stage of consciousness added heart to the world of commerce, expanding its vision into something far more rewarding than simply making a greater profit than last year.

And then, suddenly, the world stopped, and it stopped long enough for people to re-evaluate everything.

Remember 2020? A world-changing event. An invisible bug, said to be spreading wildly and seeking out victims for a rapid death. Result: Mass panic!

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Human Needs

Just as people were getting settled into the Maslow Hierarchy’s heart-awakening stage of Self-Actualization… wham!

They were suddenly plunged, like it or not, into Fear for Survival mode… Maslow’s bottom of the triangle revisited!

Now, look what happened next…

After the protracted drama of the pandemic, people eventually snapped back to more-or-less normal consciousness, but with a difference. After having been settled in Self-Actualization, then beaten down to the bottom stage of Survival, anyone with a clear mind rose into a newly-empowered position, propelling themselves beyond Self-Actualization and right into the Transcendence stage!

This boomerang effect from the deep crisis brought about the New Enlightenment faster than would have otherwise been expected.

By the summer of 2023, a decidedly positive mood had dawned, along with a newly-established Age of Enlightenment. While 1967 is remembered as the Summer of Love, 2023 may very well be remembered as the Summer of Light that started this global awakening.

The dawn of the transcendent New Enlightenment opens the door to a beautiful life filled with purpose, abundance, and true inner joy. It means that we now have the readiness to face any challenge in life with inspired resourcefulness.

Spiritual seekers find the new consciousness especially helpful as actively engaging in it can be ten times more effective in gaining enlightenment than passive meditation practices!

Now, discover what gifts and capabilities the universe will bring in the coming months and years as The New Enlightenment unfolds…
