You might ask, why is Ascension gradual?
And the answer really is like the frog in the pot of slowly-boiling water. If the frog knew what was going on, it might jump out of the pot.
In our case, if we went too far too fast or experienced too much, we could die. We’ll hear the Company of Heaven, below, expressing this apprehension.
Also, most people don’t know anything about Ascension. If the process were too swift, they might panic, thinking the changes mean they have a mental, emotional, or physical illness. It has to be gradual, imperceptible.
And finally if we went too far too soon, lightworkers might leave their posts and go on to the next adventure.
Prior to 2012, only those who were ready would have ascended. When we asked to allow more time so that many more people could ascend, we were then including people who were not prepared. And so the ascent now must be more gradual.
Finally, if we lightworkers all ascended too soon, many of us might leave. We’ll hear the Company of Heaven here saying they don’t want that.
To give instances of too large an experience or of going too far too fast, I need to widen the scope of our investigation. It needs to include other spiritual experiences which also threaten our well-being or life.
My own spiritual experiences are often toned down. Here is the Mother explaining why she toned down my experience of the Self at Xenia Retreat Center:
Divine Mother: If you had seen the light as it actually is – yes, a million, billion suns – you would have simply departed. …
We don’t mean die but you would have departed the life that you have designed – yes, with us – for yourself, for the service you are providing – you would have departed and simply said, ‘I do not need to do this. I will just simply sit in the bliss of love and good luck, everybody!’” (1)
I’m quite sure she’s right – and I’d have a very good excuse, reason, and justification.
So the Company of Heaven doesn’t want us all to leave the party. They therefore have to meter out enlightenment to us to keep us here, as Michael confirmed:
Steve: You really have to meter it out to us, so to speak, so as not to send us flying off into some other pursuit?
AAM: That is correct. (2)
He talked about the need to move slowly:
Steve: Now, when an experience is truncated [toned down] how am I to look upon it? That you wish me to write about it as far as I have experienced it? That we’re illustrating things in bite-size chunks so as not to overload people? That you don’t want us to be fully ascended because we will stop serving the Mother in this particular regard if we do?
Archangel Michael: What you have seen is that you have been given bite-sized pieces of energy, of energy bumps, of input of what you can digest and handle and truly bring to fruition. If you are in the process of expansion, you don’t go from Grade 3 to a PhD in a week. (3)
Going from Grade 3 to a Ph.D. in a week would be too far too fast. Our Ascension needs to be more gradual than that.
Let me widen the discussion and introduce a different scenario, but one which further illustrates that we can receive too much and suffer a consequence. Here’s Michael saying that, if he appeared before me in his full majesty, I would die:
Archangel Michael: For my full presence to suddenly [appear] would probably cause you to drop dead.
Steve: Ha ha ha! Well, then I’d really get my interdimensionality back, wouldn’t I?
AAM: [laughs] Yes, you would. But that is not our plan. (4)
Or again:
Archangel Michael: I do not give you the fullness of my energy because it would blow all of your channels but I step it down enough so that you know it is me, you feel the energy, and you are feeling it increasingly higher, higher, bigger, bigger. (5)
That’s not the only instance in which he could do something that would have me leave the body. If Michael were to utter my spiritual name, I would wake up and leave.
As we saw above, he doesn’t want that. I turned to the Lord Arcturus to confirm my suspicion:
Steve: If I were to ask Archangel Michael my name … and he were to say it, that probably would be enough of an energetic blast for me that I would leave this body.
Lord Arcturus: Correct. (6)
Oooooh-kay! That would end my soul contract. And they don’t want that.
Therefore they avoid it by truncating or toning down our lightworker enlightenment experiences.
Have I an example of them doing that? Yes. Here, they actually tone down an experience of Brahmajnana, God-Realization or seventh-chakra enlightenment.
It was truncated or partial in that there was no bliss. But bliss is what brings on realization, which is simply seeing from the higher level that bliss takes us to.
Without bliss we may as well be watching a (spectacular) movie.
Michael and I discussed the matter. Hear it as being said to you since we’re all angels and we’re all lightworkers:
Steve: [Emptiness of mind] was followed next by what appeared to be the kundalini completing its circuit at the seventh chakra. Is that in fact what happened?
Archangel Michael: Yes. …
Steve: Hmm, interesting! Ordinarily you would experience Brahmajnana [God-Realization, seventh-chakra enlightenment] at that point but I felt that it had been muted, toned down.
AAM: When you use the term “dramatic enlightenment experiences” [as I did earlier], you are talking about Nirvana. You are talking about the unity of all with One.
It is not to say that you will not experience that, but you cannot (well, you can if you wish; it is a choice to) simply remain in that state of unity, of One, or be fully conscious, in service, in action….
So, it is a toning down, if anything. It really is the middle ground. …
You know that enlightenment is right there in front of you. It is yours to access. But if you are in service, you will not choose to live there. …
You can think of it as keeping two feet firmly on the ground. (7)

It’s all Working, Just Slowly – Part 2/2

We heard the Mother casually drop the comment, “the life that you have designed – yes, with us – for yourself….”
I designed my life? With “us.” Who is “us”? (1)
Based on what I’ve been able to piece together from other comments, that team for a lightworker angel (that’d be all of us) would ordinarily consist of the Mother, our archangel, our universal Self, our guardian angels, and any who attach to us as temporary spirit guides or mentors (who often overlight us). This design team sees ours as an enlightenment partnership. (2)
They’re steering our ship from that side; we are from this side. Michael calls himself my “wingman.” (3)
This enlightenment partnership is something that classical enlightenment sources didn’t go into very much, if they knew about it.
The Mother discusses the role of our guiding team here:
Steve: Implicit in what you are saying, Mother, is something that hasn’t been really talked about very much and that’s that the archangels or somebody else is managing our enlightenment experiences, timing, intensity… Am I correct in that?
Divine Mother: It is a Board of Directors rather than being, “managed by.” That concept, the way that you have phrased it, dear heart, implies that you are being “managed.” And that is not correct.
[Steve: Otherwise, it ‘d be a violation of free will.]
Now also know – and it is delightful to speak about this – the timing, the pacing – and when I say “pace,” I mean the sequential unfoldment – of an Enlightenment process is such that of course you have a guardian [angel] and usually an archangel that is working with you so that it is humanly and can we say, soul or esoterically – via your universal self – managed.
So very often, the construct was that things were done for you or certain things were placed in front of you. Now I am not saying that there aren’t a great many things that are put in front of you and done for you continually.
But you are far more involved and engaged in your Enlightenment process in terms of literal, actual, physical, mental, emotional engagement than you have been previously. (4)
Far more involved? So we were becoming enlightened even when we were not involved? Interesting….
So there’s a look behind the scenes at our enlightenment partnership with the Company of Heaven, as we move gradually up the ladder of consciousness. It shows from various angles why our enlightenment experiences as lightworkers and angels need to be toned down (if they do) or made to unfold gradually.
It’s all working, just slowly. It has to be that way for all of us to reach what the Buddha called “the other shore” – and not individually any more, but all together. (5)
