We see a world where wellness is the watchword of the day; where humanity has realized, oh-so-clearly, that we are wise to hold a vision of ourselves and others in the highest light - happy, healthy, vibrant, joyous, creative, and living our calling to the fullest.

We see a world where supporting sickness in others, having a vested interest in illnesses of any kind, naming, creating, advertising, and reinforcing diseases, being sympathetic instead of empathetic, being dependent on big pharmaceutical companies who have profit as their first priority, believing things are contagious, experimenting with vaccines, and so forth have gone by the wayside because we have begun to use light, to bring Spirit/Source into the picture, and to use positive envisioning and love to heal one another.

Can you imagine a world like this? It is a world where we are all living in peak health because that is all we are putting our attention on.

Long and reflective.

A lot of interesting conversations going on backstage, stirred up by Matthew’s last message.  One piece of feedback that arose was that I’m being too intellectual in trying to understand spiritual states.

While we’re all recovering from the holidays, maybe it’s a good time to push back the chair and reflect. And here I’m about to be intellectual. This is the exploration that the comment raised. Just a reflection.

For me, as you know, there are three levels of knowledge: the intellectual, the experiential, and the realized.  (1)

Let me just dwell on one part of that division for a moment.

I have no control over realization. I freely wander into cognitive dissonance to court paradigmatic breakthrough. (2) I ask for realization. I meditate. But that state is bestowed by the Mother, her archangels, our guides, the masters, etc.

I can describe aspects of it. Realization brings release plus bliss. It’s the bliss that lifts us up to a place where simple knowledge there is seen as realization here.

But I have to be careful. My excursions into higher states do not make me a spiritual teacher. Nor do I want to be one. I’m a writer.

I still feel reflective. May I unwind?

When I enter a new field, I say to you that I’m establishing a beachhead of understanding about that field. (3) The beachhead is just a landing zone and may be totally abandoned later on.

If I were a non-dualist, I’d jump for joy that I know nothing and have an empty mind. I would just allow things to be rather than establish a beachhead of understanding, which would be seen as limiting me.

But I’m a dualist this lifetime. I serve the Divine Mother. For that I need understanding and the ability to communicate. Sitting in the cloud of unknowing is not appropriate for me in this go-round.

I need to communicate. To do that I need to stay within the universe of discourse of you, the reader I serve. That can mean reducing the ineffable into the language of the day.

I won’t for instance suddenly lapse into an erudite explanation of quantum physics, even if I knew anything about the subject, which I don’t. (I think this article is erudite enough for folks who are working and raising children.)

As a writer I deal in ideas and the ideas need to be comprehensible to my readers.

But the heart of the feedback was that I was being too intellectual. In spirituality it seems either to boil down to a matter of the heart or a matter of balance. Either way you end up in the same place: The tsunami of love that flows in the heart.

If I can develop that feedback, however, it means, to me, staying too much within the orbit of ideas; never escaping and going higher. It means too often reducing living, breathing entities to ideas, which is a task beyond delicate and perhaps impossible.

The emphasis is on the “too much.”  The emphasis is on leaving the center,  the balance point, the heart and wandering off into the extremes of passion, clouded judgment, and abandoned caution.

That’s fine if you’re a young person breaking free of your parents – whoopee!  But a lightworker committed to service? I think we agree to give up those.

If I want to pierce through the cloud of ideas to the experience of it, no matter what we’re looking at, I have to feel into it with the heart.

A word about awareness and “getting in touch with” something.

In a three-month residential encounter group I did in 1975-6, even critics who were habitually driven to point out blemishes “got in touch with” what was driving them  And it turned out they were just like everyone else except starved for listening and validation.

Getting in touch with a matter frees us from it. Feedback is what assists us with the process.

Awareness has that property, as Jesus tells us here:

Jesus: You have to realize that consciousness is something very powerful. It is much more than a passive registering of an emotion – consciousness is an intense creative force. …

Consciousness is not something static; things do not remain as they are. You will notice that if you do not nourish the energy of the emotion or of your judgment about it, they will gradually dissipate. …

Awareness transforms – it is the major instrument for change. (1)

We’re talking about simple, bare awareness. We’re not talking about having a good idea or analyzing the unanalyzable (love, for instance). And we’re certainly not talking about arguing over something, which, multiplied, leads us to where we are now, in a war of exchange, reduced to arguments, compressed into memes. Not many signs of intelligent life here, as the comedian said.

As a social movement, the path of awareness became “consciousness raising.” We need to re-acquire their tools we left behind some time ago (1982, to be exact). (2)

Raise something to simple, bare, non-judgmental awareness and allow it to be while observing it and you’ll see the issue leave more quickly than otherwise, because of our awareness.

Additionally, you, sitting there passively, paying attention to it but allowing it to do its own thing, is like raising your hand when greeting. It shows you have no (intellectual) weapon in it.

You’re not wrestling with the issue; if you were, it’d remain forever. What we resist persists, as Werner Erhard said. What we allow leaves under its own steam.

Well, that was a rewarding stock-taking for me. Yes, I am very intellectual.

I’m dealing with whole-system interpretations and analyses. What experiential knowledge would look like at this level of generality, I’m not sure I know. I find myself chuckling at the assignment.

As I look at my intellectuality, turning it like a diamond in my mind, I see it has a quality of maleness to it. Pushing through to the heart of the matter, wrapping my  arms around a subject, etc. Very male.

I think someone raised female might do a better job. (3)

Either way, let’s settle back, into the task. Put on the coffee.

(2) The recession of 1982 was the first instance I’m aware of of a “jobless recovery.” The forces promoting automation used the recession to shed now-obsolescent labor.

They instantly created a buyer’s market for labor, not only comprised of large numbers of people who had lost their jobs, but also large numbers of people who had lost their careers, professions, etc. Unions collapsed.

The attitude was uncaring, much like the mood of the vaccination discourse today.

Was there ever really a time of public peace?

Here we are worrying about family and  friendship splits over political issues and we face another obstacle in communication: People communicating on two different levels and just not getting their ideas across.

For the first time in my life I became aware, mid-conversation, that I was having one of these discussions with another person.  The other person was talking from the intellectual level and it was all about right/wrong, good/bad.

I was talking from the experiential level and it was all about how does it feel? Does that feeling work for you? And there seemed no way to make the two ends meet, so to speak.

Again and again the other person recounted the grounds upon which they said they were right.  For everything that was questionable, there were self-serving excuses. You know. The ones we all have?

We always seem to want to appear to be right in our own eyes, until we don’t. Until we discover the benefits of personal responsibility rather than settling for appearing right. Then a great weight falls from our shoulders.

Until then all is image management and the most we can hope for, I think, is the ephemeral satisfaction that comes from being right. In terms of relationships, all we can hope for is shifting alliances.  She’s good. Now she’s done something and so she’s now bad. Now I hang out with these guys, who are good. Now they did something….

We settle for alliances of the good and right, as we define them, with daily updates. That’s all life becomes, it seems to me.

I’ve compared the intellectual level (by itself) on occasion to eating dry oatmeal. The best it seems to get at the intellectual level is sharing between friends where we trade our likes and dislikes and deep secrets (usually gossip).  Not much nourishment there.

We use our conversations as opportunities to hone our story so that we have “all our ducks in a row.” Never mind the truth. Once we have our story where we want it, it becomes set in stone.

Life at the experiential level at least has more juice. It’s like hot oatmeal with milk, berries, cashew nuts and maple syrup. There’s much to like.

Life at the realizational level is indescribable. At least to my pen.

At Cold Mountain Institute in 1975-6, we resident fellows spent three months in an encounter group, living from the experiential level, and, in my opinion, it was as good as it gets on Planet Earth – at that time or since. (1)

We cleared the decks of everything between us and stood there without armor. I guess I hunger for that degree of transparency and harmlessness again. And all the clearing of vasanas or core issues I’ve done since then is only to have that state of beingness – like a hollow bamboo – back again.

I know that, once this … I love Kathleen’s word … “disarray” is over and we’re blessed by the Ring of Fire, (2) we’ll be living from that state as a society. The more we are, the more the world will work for everyone. (3)

And, within days or weeks of gaining that state, we’ll probably just accept it as normal. And largely forget that only for a few brief moments in our history (like the early Fifties) and in a very few places has a state of public peace – even if it was illusory – ever really been “normal.”

Shine brightly in all of your brilliance, in all of your radiance, for all to see how a realized, embodied master lives their life. Understand how important the way you live your life is because you can’t even imagine how many eyes are upon you. You are here to shine in all of your glory, in all of your magnificence, in all of your perfection. You are here to be infinite worthiness embodied in form. You are here to be infinite abundance embodied in form. You are here to be infinite wellbeing embodied in form. You are here to be infinite love embodied in form. You are here to be infinite intelligence embodied in form. And that is what you are.

What you call the works of great masters are trivial to what is possible for you to create, to manifest, to realize. And it’s not a comparison, but it only makes sense. You have been expanding and expanding and expanding. You have been opening portals of possibility and potential. You have been raising consciousness and awareness and vibration and frequency. That expands the power. That expands the magic. That expands the miracles.

As we’ve said, you’re going to have to find another word to describe these things because they’re going to be such a natural thing for you. And even beyond that, you won’t need magic and miracles to define your experience. It will be your natural state of being. There won’t be some huge need for some huge miracle because something has gone so wrong. You won’t need something so magical to happen because your circumstances are so far from where you want them to be. You will be living in your wholeness, in your fullness, in your completeness, in your power, in your wellbeing, in your abundance. You will be living in your worthiness. You will be living in pure love.

And while you would describe your life as the most magical and extraordinary existence, for you it becomes your way of being. Your circumstances, conditions, and experiences are such that you don’t need some big, magical, miraculous thing to happen for you because you’re already living in the knowing of all that you are and how powerful you are.

Now, you’re not here to perform tricks. You’re not here to entertain people with the magical things you can do. You’re here to realize the God that you are. You’re here to realize the power you have. You’re here to realize the possibility and the potential that exists. You’re here to embody as a realized master here on Earth. 

…

You’ve heard many a spiritual teaching that says this is a journey, not a destination. And we will give you even an expanded perspective on that. It’s a journey. It’s a journey for sure. But when you reach a particular level of consciousness and awareness, all sorts of things show up for you, present themselves to you, become part of your awareness and your experience. They’ve been here all along.

You’re on a journey that goes nowhere but now, here. You’re on a journey that goes nowhere except now, here. This is going to be a big stretch for most of your brains to try to figure out, so don’t try to figure this out. Everything is in the now, here. 

This is how powerful you are. If you’re waiting for it, it can’t possibly be now, here. If you’re needing it, it can’t possibly be now, here. Even though it is now, here, it can’t be. If you are wanting, it cannot be now, here. When you are in the now, here, it’s all here. And the journey was never about going out there. It was about coming home to you now, here. 

Come home, come home, come home now, here. The Promised Land is now, here. Heaven on Earth is now, here. A New Earth is now, here. Your dream, the really big one, is now, here. The deepest desire of your heart is now, here. Your grandest vision is now, here. Your highest potential is now, here. The highest expression of all that you are is now, here. And all that’s asked of you is to realize it. All that’s asked of you is to real-ize it. All that’s asked of you is to realize it.

Realize it. Even to the point of being aware that it was here all along, or you couldn’t have been aware of it. That is a realization within itself that if you sit in judgment or unworthiness or trying to figure it out will trip you up every time.

Come into the awareness that it’s been here all along. 

So many times you get so close to it, you get so close to it, but then the unworthiness pops up. You get so close to it, but then the doubt pops up. You get so close, and then you try to figure it out. But if you can come into that absolute knowing, the next part of absolute knowing is allowing yourself into the awareness that it’s been here all along, that you’ve even been aware of it all along. But you realize it in the now, here.

Here is another Vision from Carol Joy Bennett. She entitled it A Vision for those fearfully trying to amass wealth and power to get ahead in the world, but we shortened it to A Vision for True Personal Power Realized.

I see all struggling individuals, two parent working families, and people in groups who are trying to amass wealth for power's sake experiencing a profound relief because a channel to higher knowing has opened up within them. Within this knowing is the interrelationship of all things on a quantum level - and, thus, a desire is sparked in them to fully communicate with all people everywhere so that our attraction to caste/class systems is entirely released.

From this release, the gifts of each caste/class level are realized, respected and easily demonstrated - bringing a joyful relief for all. With thought barriers lifted like fog cleared by the sun, the truth of intending, allowing and agreeing rise to the forefront of our lives and are easily utilized by all. As a result, all individuals and groups feel the power in the present moment to easily attain their desires without having to have power over anyone else to do so.
