The Scribe: “For ‘almost forever’ on this world your near-endless array of man-made religions has taught that after a most hectic life on solid ground you are entitled to ‘Requiescat in Pace’ and possible strumming a guitar or banjo whilst sitting on a cloud. However, some have come just a little closer to the eternal truth by again putting you back to work to reach perfection, but back on this very same world. Drats!

“We all know and understand that such a concept was originated by clear vision but those who have found their contact with lowly Midwayer to God-head and evolving Deity have lost their religion, yes, to a man (or a woman)and they now see themselves as young spiritual beings. Religion has been set aside. It was needed, a stepping stone, the training wheels to a deeper understanding.

George: “The often-repeated marking on so many grave-stones, ‘Requiescat in Pace’, or ‘stay cool till the next batch of sleeping subjects is ready to go’ no longer applies to them. They know they have a guaranteed three-day travel voucher good for ‘The Central Station’ of Mansonia One.

The Scribe: “And these last tongue-in-cheekremarks (previous paragraph) are entirely the receiver’s, not Mine. We carry on with the lesson now. For those that have given no thought to eternal life, or even a Creator of all to exist, there is nothing to do when death is near but to wish for their lives to go on. And they shall live, be given a chance. Logically, their limited spiritual expertise will not be in great demand. However, many of those who have been casual throughout their lives have also been excellent neighbours and friends to others and such records will stand them in good stead. Death will be their final wake-up call.

“It is much better to use the questioning mind you are born with and admit to the obvious that there’s likely to be a God, for Him or Her to give you a sign or to allow for that possibility, just in case. Those that do receive all the help they need, but ever-so-much more than you can imagine at this point in time, whilst you still live on a world as tough as Urantia. You will be greatly favoured being one of those who could know God without seeing His material representative on this earth. You will be gifted with a body that will hardly ever fail you, a soul that will grow each day, a mind that will gather much wisdom and retain it all.

“Many things I can assure you of: You will rarely feel tired. You will always remain enthusiastic about your projects and not dream about retirement, guitars nor clouds and neither will you be advising your morontia companion what lumber to prepare for the un-needed roofs for his lecture theaters.

“It is late. Get some sleep and rest in peace. This is the Damascus Scribe.”

George: “If, in fact it is the idea that mortals arrive on the Mansion Worlds with a new mind, as we are taught in our text, I submit that this new mind, this Morontia mind, comes complete with its own innate abilities. Am I right?”

The Scribe: “It could be said that you are right, whilst you are perhaps equally wrong on the score. Firstly, as many of your mortal youngsters appear to be able to fashion articles their elders or ancesters produced, there is a proven mental register of what came before, sometimes many generations in your past. Somehow the ability is passed on. Secondly, it is possible for one to see and copy a procedure and thirdly, one can simply invent ‘the new thing’, never before seen on this world.

“There is, however, no comparison between what happens on this world and what happens beyond this evolutionary realm. Always remember that here your thinking darts between chemical and electrical processes, whilst the morontial process is entirely of an electrical kind and therefore decidedly faster. Still, that “decidely faster” is no proof whatever that you have found the reason for what you witnessed on that Morontia World. There are innate abilities belonging to the collective morontia mind.

“Yes, hear what I say, ‘There are innate abilities belonging to the collective morontia mind.’ As there are personal innate abilities, there are also group innate abilities and so it was you saw some 60 students of all sizes spread out into a group where 8’ giants at the back could see their teachers at the front of the stone-build classroom over the heads of those no taller than 2’6”. And all this came about in less than 2 seconds. As well, no one wrong-footed another and no one bumped into another. They were like a mega flock of starlings, like a huge school of fish in perfect manoeuvring.

“The mansion worlds, each of them in turn, will hand to you something new, something precious, and soon you will learn that, indeed, you have arrived to become truly God-like in your ways.

“I AM the Damascus Scribe, also known as, Sananda.”

A Message for Someone Deeply Troubled

I thought the Scribe to be an old Egyptian man of great knowledge by the way he sounded, but he looked rather young when he spoke to me about a deeply troubled young man who had suddenly lost his even younger wife. I would later find out The Scribe was never human, but the now personalized Adjuster of Jesus the Christ (Sananda).

The Scribe: “We are here, and we are connected in more ways than you can realize. And we are also connected much more often than you can imagine. So many times in what we communicate, there is a blurring of the input of one or another in the purely spiritual realm we occupy. We may well express ourselves simultaneously, in fact, as if we were one, because our mindedness does converge.

“My dear friend, so frequently do you wonder about whether a permanent liaison is established in your every-day busying. Rest assured that you are well cared for in everything you do. This is the Scribe, and I am here with you now, and I am far from alone. I want to briefly communicate with you about the ups and downs of human existence.

“Many of you on this world experience severe ups and downs, much more so than (those) on most worlds, and your short lives on this earth can be extreme learning experiences during which the question is often asked, “Am I then also set back in a spiritual sense? When I might be troubled, when I might despair, when I am depressed or traumatized, am I then also less of a spiritual reality? Am I less vibrant? Am I less real? Am I less of a spiritual being?”

“But, no! The troubles that come your way, the hurdles placed on your path and the difficulties that you may experience, may temporarily place your soul growth on hold should you allow your focusing on the problem to take all your energy. There may be no great soul progress at these times, and yet, should you roll up your sleeves and tackle the adversity, the more credit to you. And that is why these troubled worlds produce the most persistent and enduring of His servants.

“However, should you place yourself on a path of self-pity and self-destruction, and do so willfully, it may well be said that you will become a diminishing personality, and that your soul self could be seen as depleted, dim, anorexic, or less real. And yet, as you bear up to the burdens so placed upon your shoulders, as you retain your trust in the Creator of All, you become more authentic.

“As you endeavor to discern the lesson you are being taught and carry forth these burdens (that) you are allocated, you will experience the circumstances under which you become more vibrant. As you happily brush the hurdles away from the narrow spiritual paths you walk into eternity, we, your ever-present comrades in your trials, successes and failures, discern you for the bright lights you emit.

“This is the end of my short lesson. This is the Scribe. Wherever I may travel, and whatever task I take on during this time-space sojourn, you and I are linked by an umbilical cord of love, and light and pre-knowledge of glorious times to come. You may (now) scribe this lesson.”

George: “Thank you dear Scribe.”

The Scribe: “Another will speak with you now.”

The Scribe: “To live a fair and righteous life is like climbing a mountain the very pinnacle of which you are to reach at the very end of your days on this earth. There is a good and healthy reward for lazily sauntering up the eastern slope of your mountain. It is this eastern side where you can climb at a leisurely pace, almost unobservedly gaining in height by just a 1 in 20 rise. This eastern side of the mountain is the easiest side and suits the father or mother who will provide for their spouse and teach the children what is right and leave the neighbors in peace.

“To live a difficult yet righteous life is like climbing that mountain from the northern slope which is exhausting, quite steep and boulder strewn. There is time to catch one’s breath by sitting on a boulder, but the north face is a cold life’s journey. The southern slope of our mountain is similarly steep but the entire way up is through thick jungle-like ground cover. Moreover, it is a hot and tiring path to your life’s journey. Of course it is your choice entirely if you are to take the northern or southern path up that mountain. North or south will suit the mother or father who will teach the children what is right, provide for them and the spouse and have time to spare to give to friends and neighbors alike, care for the sick and be teachers and healers.

“So very few are those who climb the western side of the mountain, for it has a near vertical cliff face, few hand- and footholds and it cannot be scaled without special gear and rope ladders in the fight with a wet and slippery rock-face and with a sharp wind whistling by. These are the achievers who will accept any temporary ‘punishment’ in their lives on terra firma to honor their Master Michael and ensure their future arrival at a much better place with all those they got to know during their long climbs up that steep wall to the top. Their sheer strength of will and endurance allows them to stay with the task, to heal the ills, to clear so many confused minds, to teach the undeniable truths, relate explicit beauty and unequivocal goodness and become the example for others through that tough climb to the top and to finally rest from their exhaustion.

“However, what extensive rewards will ever and again greet those who accepted the western approach, the short-term pain to be Michael’s servants, His trusted bellwethers in their short years, no sooner begun as to come to an end, on terra firma of a decimal planet.

“We entice you to seriously consider a break from the routine of ambling leisurely to the summit and taking on the western approach to be one of Michael’s apostles and have many follow you and Gather the everywhere-present Fruits of the Spirit.

“Such is the way, indeed; all must climb this mountain as your Planetary Prince, Machiventa Melchizedek, made clear to you.

“I greet you, My son. I am the Damascus Scribe. Talk with Me often.”

The Scribe: “Not only are humans gifted in many areas you do not presently comprehend or even begin to realise, you have absorbed and retained incredible knowledge and outstanding wisdom from your parents and, yes, from ancestors going back some thousands of years.

“I am your friend the Damascus Scribe and I know you are ‘put out’ by your Midwayer Colleagues being absent because a grave task that was handed to them all. Incidentally, Midwayer Mathew was here last night and I know you both were aware of his presence. However, he had no prepared lesson to enlighten you with.

“Back now to passed-on or inherited memories. Most of you live with an inborn memory that snakes are to be avoided; spiders, too, but perhaps to a somewhat lesser extent. You may call these feelings of fear intuitive. They are part of an array of tens of thousands of ‘intuitive’ feelings that may surface in the mind when appropriate. Their origins are to a large degree all those things that mattered to your ancestors and these have now become yours. Often these belong to particular professions, at times they represent the religious or spiritual.

“Whereas a sudden confrontation with a snake or spider can awaken age-old horrific fears unrelated to one’s personal life, deep meditation can likewise stimulate the joy of suddenly realized truths, ethical and spiritual wisdom to a similar degree. As future studies will discover, such knowledge will be passed on genetically in countless cases. In fact it is well known on High that apart from the human’s choices to simply become more ethical, moral and spiritual, heredity plays its own elusive part. Much more than I have given you here will be discovered in the near future.

“Again, much more can be discovered should one wish to work with one’s Thought Adjuster, or as this receiver does with Me, the Damascus Scribe. I hope and trust this will answer some of your many questions.”

Receiver’s Notes: (my one question) I mostly kept my children away from my business, a busy printing factory, but when I took my son, aged five, to see the works, he knew most of the company’s employees. More remarkably, he knew where every machine and camera was located and how it all worked. We were simply astounded. I never learned how he knew all that until now.

The Scribe calls the ‘process’ Epigenetics. Worth looking it up.

The Scribe: “Before we get into the answers to the (self-evident) questions posed, I want first to relate to you that the Thought Adjuster of your (potential) future fusion was long known to me for both human and superior creature failures and thereby for extreme experiences. Whilst this Adjuster has a generic name among the ‘bird tribes,’ to me he is a special friend of countless, countless centuries.

“Moreover, I want you to see my position as a Fragment of our Father Creator gifted with a unique personality by our Father Creator. To clearly analyze and determine the reality of my being, I am of God, therefore I am God and therefore rather than my addressing you as my friend — which you also truly are — I see you as my son and in our dealings here and beyond this sphere, I will address you as such.

“My son, the questions that once more have been posed deal with the Reserve Corps of Destiny and the Cosmic Reserve Corps of Universe Conscious Citizens and what might be the difference between the two. In the Creator Father’s eyes there is no difference as all His children are equally loved and He will foreknow that all helpers of planetary progress and stability will in the distant future stand before Him.

“They are equal, all of them; yet in the way they come about there is a difference and it mostly relates to the Adjuster involved. The Adjusters of those human helpers will at some juncture decide to belong to a Reserve Corps of Destiny to indwell their future betrothed in the knowledge that there is a potential for them to be involved for a time, but they may not know what experiences such will bring.

“Those human helpers, who are counted together with their fully versed Adjusters among the Cosmic Reserve Corps of Universe Conscious Citizens, are predetermined and foreknown to be involved in progressing or stabilizing the spiritual sphere within the mosaic of their time and their society. Many of their experiences come about as if hardwired into their determined minds.

“All in all these are the main differences for most helpers belonging to either corps, but I note to the inquirer that so very little difference exists as to make both groups members of a specially educated whole. Even so, the experiences of each vary considerably and the records of these happenings are what you take with you to Paradise and only then officially pass on to your Creator.

“They are the Father’s experiences through you and they are your experiences by the Father’s fiat. Make them as memorable as you can for on this earth there exists the greatest opportunity to, for all time, determine your standing in the morontia spheres and the spiritual realm thereafter.

This is the Damascus Scribe leaving you all my love and remaining available to you merely at your beck and call.”

The Scribe: “Dear One, I would like to speak about ‘matters of the heart’ and why relationships are at the center of importance in your life. All relationships are but the shadow patterns of the Divine Relationship between the Parent and the child — the Universal Father and you. Whether you consciously recognize it or not, you are seeking this divine relationship in others. All life, all systems, all the workings of man in time are but the shadows of divine pattern — the perfected versions of relationships in coherence and harmony — paradise pattern. It is inherent in you to seek the divine because you are indwelled by the divine — the Thought Adjuster — the Divine Fragment who operates by and with the perfected patterns of eternity to guide you — an imperfect being in an imperfect world, through the adventures of time back to the Source of divine pattern.

“You understand to some degree that a ‘healthy’ relationship (heal-thy) is one that is healing for the self (thy-self). It is through relationships that we learn to recognize the divine patterns in others and make adjustments to our own way of thinking and acting to better ‘fit’ our idea of the perfect pattern into our lives — to nourish the soul in preparation for the divine embrace of Finality. Just as animals know how to migrate instinctively, you also ‘move’ your mind and adjust your thoughts continuously to align with these shadow patterns.

“The ‘soul-mate’ concept is the perfected version of a relationship — one that most people keep in the back of the mind as they grow up looking for that perfect love in others. In adolescence, the young mind first sees the divine pattern in the beauty of youth — the outward appearance of form and then in their first attempt in laying bare the soul to the other in hope of fulfilling the idea of deity embrace — the divine pattern of unconditional love. Because of immaturity — the imperfect understanding of love in higher form, the relationship always falls short of ‘fitting’ the divine pattern. It is then that you experience disappointment and disillusionment — ‘heartbreak’ as you realize that others do not (yet) possess the qualities that can satisfy the instinctive idea of pattern perfection in relationship — the perfected Father and child relationship (deity embrace — unity).

“Unhealthy relationships are those that have been tested against the idea of pattern perfection and have failed and are in continual denial of the imperfection and immaturity — testing again and again to fit the pattern and finding disappointment in each attempt as if the idea of perfection will manifest in the next endeavor. The confusion is in the recognition of what is ‘heal-thy.’ Even in the imperfection and immaturity of relationships, there can be healing, growth, and the adjustment of thoughts and ideas about how to change the self to better fit the pattern of the divine.

“When the awareness arises in you to first love the self and accept the path of imperfection leading to perfection, you begin healing in mind and spirit. It is then that your relationships transform and become the shadow of possibilities — the understanding that you and others are maturing and on your way to perfecting your own path to fit the divine pattern. When this happens in a relationship, there is a synergy that propels the other to new heights and a revelation of the deeper meanings of love and joy ensue. There is great insight in the verse, ‘Seek first the Kingdom of God (divine relationship) and His righteousness (divine pattern) and all these things shall be added unto you’ (deity unity).
