The Importance of Remaining Self-Possessed, Grounded, and Restrained at This Time

The Importance of Remaining Self-Possessed, Grounded, and Restrained at This Time

Tulsi Gabbard: My pick for an example of a self-possessed, grounded, and restrained female voice in politics

I’m among the folks who don’t believe the November elections will happen quite the way we think they will.

I believe they’ll be held on the quantum voting system, which will give a tamper-proof result.

Moreover, I also believe that G/NESARA will be declared before election time but that, to be eligible for it, one will have to return to their country of citizenship.

JD Vance: My pick for an example of a self-possessed, grounded, and restrained male voice in politics

At the same time, we’ve known for a long time that we’re in a “time of separation.” (1)  The. Ring of Fire, which I expect after the ten days of broadcasts, may remove many figures of darkness who cannot make the leap to continue with us. (2)

***

I feel more and more of my own negativity rising to the surface.  Judgmentalness, ill appraisals of others’ motivation, just downright grumipness is all surfacing – I hope, to be released.

Meanwhile, I’ve become somewhat concerned about lightworkers and white hats engaging in their own variety of extreme behavior. What that looks like was illustrated by one writer, who shall remain nameless, who called a resurgent America a “towering colossus,” dominant in the world, its undisputed hegemon.

Wow. I don’t think this kind of self-glorification, no matter how gratifying to the ego, will prove helpful in the times ahead. I think it excites envy and fear in others and is really only a continuation of cold-war thinking.

Some things of value are accomplished by swinging out into the extremes, but most suffer from these episodes.

In my view, everything of lasting value is to be found in the center, in the middle, in the heart.  I’m just seeing one reason after another for remaining centered, myself, as much as possible, as the election approaches as well as mass arrests.

Staying centered is not a popular position when both sides in a disagreement are resorting to extreme words and behavior. But I personally think it’s vitally necessary for as many lightworkers as possible, who are not in the armed forces (and hence in need of a clear focus), to hold the middle ground, the heart space, where unity and love are to be found.

Not swinging out into the extremes, making decisions in the heat of passion, or taking extreme and unyielding positions on important matters.  These close down space and leave no room for love.

I think we need as much self-control and restraint at a time like this as we can muster. And as much support for each other to remain self-possessed, grounded, and restrained.

(1) “Earth is nearing vibratory levels where the light is so intense that all who have refused the light – the ones we speak of as dark simply to indicate their lack of light – will die. That may sound unduly harsh, but it is not a matter of some ‘divine’ judgment or punishment – it is simply the physics governing life in this universe that bodies bereft of light cannot survive in those higher vibrations. In short, all those who have been causing fearful conditions will be disappearing.” (Matthew’s Message, April 23, 2011.)  How much greater this must be in 2024 and how much greater still after the Ring of Fire.

Social Vasanas

Social Vasanas

Our social vasanas drive us to violence

I purposely use the term “vasanas” to refer to “core issues”; in this case, shared among members of a society.

My hope is that, some day, we’ll link up the insights of our western psychotherapeutic leaders like Gabor Mate and Thomas Hübl with those of Vedantists or non-dualists like Ramana Maharshi and the Yoga Vashishtha.

I think we’d benefit from a cross-cultural perspective. (1) After the Reval, I’ll sponsor research to further that objective.

Archangel Michael tells us why resolving our social vasanas matters:

Archangel Michael: Many of you – and you, beloved, included – look at situations and you say, ‘Well, how can it get much worse?’ That is because you, and many, come from a place of love and purity of intent.

But you also know that everything that has need to be eliminated, everything that has need to be relinquished, everything that needs to be healed in this cesspool that we call ‘chaos’ has need to come to the surface.

Otherwise – and this has happened many, many times in human history – what happens is there is a belief [that] there is a healing, an accommodation, a remedy, and then the human collective tends to think, ‘Okay, now it is cleaned up. Now it is healed. Now it is done.’

But the core – the core issues – of the collective, and of course of the individuals, have not been addressed, and therefore it simply settles in and it festers. (2) [My emphasis.]

One of the problems we face in building Nova Earth is knowing how to make the transition from cabal to white-hat  management.

Do we try to convert the cabal? The advice is not to. We’re cautioned that the cabal are determined to hold out till the end. There’s apparently no gain to be had in trying to win them over.

The cabal elite will either die off or join us. Die off if they cannot incorporate the love energy of the higher dimensions. Or join us when they see what’s arising and shed their own darkness for light.

Just build Nova Earth “and they will come,” it’s suggested.

But that doesn’t mean an automatic ascension. To “come with us,” people would have to have assimilated enough light to withstand the more refined environment that exists on the higher dimensions.

As Matthew has said, it’s not punishment.  It’s physics:

“It can be no other way – simply, [because] this is the physics that governs life in this universe. As Earth continues apace into successively higher planes, nothing with low vibrations in any form – physical bodies, subversive plans, theft, dishonesty, unjust laws and imprisonment, bigotry, cruel customs and deeds – can survive.” (3)

***

What Michael described earlier is the formation of a social vasana.

Yes, we’re all individuals and our vasanas reflect our personal history. So how does our unity of action manifest?

We’re united via our collective consciousness. What we do sends an energy streamer into it, which is either ignored or gathers support, adherence, and momentum. Matthew describes the process here:

“Energy is neutral. It is the thought forms that get attached to energy streamers that are positive—with light—or negative—without light. The forms are created by every being’s thoughts, feelings and actions, and collectively those determine a civilization’s density, or spiritual and conscious evolvement status. … At this moment, the light in people varies from brilliant to just enough to keep bodies alive.”  (4)

“Both ‘good’ and ‘evil’ are energy streamers with positive or negative attachments, respectively. With thanks to the light beamed to Earth and radiated by lightworkers, the power of beliefs founded and perpetuated in falsehoods is diminishing.” (5)

In that sense, what one does has the potential to affect all. (6)

Yes, we act out the social vasana as individuals. A mob is a collection of individuals.  And the cure for it is – and has to be – individual.

Because we follow trends and fashions – which Michael calls entrainment (7) – we can leave a social vasana more easily than a deep-seated personal one. I am, we are watching people of real integrity now coming forward and we entrain to them or follow them – no differently than a school of fish.

I’d love to mention some of the really admirable leaders I see now but I worry that it’d just be inflammatory to some.

Let me say that I’m impressed with the caliber of people I’ve seen come forward in every field – law, medicine, politics, investigative journalism (formerly “conspiracv theory”), the military, etc. And you know who they are because we’re all watching their videos on Rumble, X, Truth Social, and other platforms.

I actually feel excited to think of the difference in governance these new leaders will make if President Trump includes them in his plans.

The Source of Our Upsets and Their Cure

The Source of Our Upsets and Their Cure

by Steve Beckow

Alice in Wonderland is all about vasanas

“Bah, humbug. Why do I need to know about vasanas?”

A vasana is a reaction pattern that contains all the memories of an earlier traumatizing incident – sights, sounds, smells, feelings, moods, and so on. It also contains all the decisions, resolutions, conclusions, beliefs, strategies, and scripts we arrived at or devised. It also has all the memories connected to all other, later similar incidents in which the vasana went off like an awakened volcano.

It’s a kind of file folder that contains everything connected with “The Day Mom Died” or “The Day I was Molested.” And it has in it everything that happened since then that was like it and sprang the reaction patterns we developed from “The Day Mom Died” or “The Day I was Molested.”

Est graduates will recognize a vasana as what Werner Erhard called a “record.” It’s been called an engram I believe, unfinished business, old baggage, and incompleted issues, etc.

Yes, a vasana does contain beliefs, but working with them only doesn’t go far enough. Beliefs are only a part of the story. The whole story goes much further.

And painting a happy face over an upset face only means that we now have the upset with a veneer of happiness over top of it. That accounts for all the smiles we see that aren’t really believable, the strain in the voice, the forced laugh. Nobody buys these kinds of ingenuous displays. And more to the point, we don’t really buy them either.

I have to steer our attention again to what actually does work, as far as I’m aware, and that is to source the vasana that’s been triggered. Let me work my way up to that subject, making a few introductory points along the way.

Our ever-expanding collection of vasanas is what makes us more and more rigid over the years. Finally we become an old nattering individual that no one wants to hear – what Werner called “a guy in a diner” – the loud and opinionated guy who spouts cliches and demands a listening and concurrence.

There are some factors to keep in mind when actually turning to the vasana that has erupted instead of trying other strategies.

One is that a vasana can’t be sourced unless it’s up and going off. The mind doesn’t know how to feed us back the kind of information we need to source it unless it has a real live situation to deal with and relate to.

So there’s no sense trying to source a vasana that went off yesterday but isn’t around today. You can see that that’s what makes our upsets a happy hunting ground. Oh boy! A vasana has gone off. I can now source it.

Moreover, a vasana acted upon or projected outwards, instead of being sourced, merely adds another layer to the existing vasana. It merely energizes the vasana and makes it that much more influential over our lives. That’s the worst thing to do with it.

It’s ineffective to project our vasanas onto others by blaming them for the way we feel. Our vasana is responsible for the way we feel. We’re “doing it to ourselves,” albeit unconsciously.

The present situation is not the source of our upset. A situation that happened long ago is the source. Until we’re free of that original situation, we’ll continue to be triggered.

Now let me turn to how to work with a vasana so as to have it disappear rather than grow and grow.

What we need to do with it is to go within, rather than without. We need to identify the feeling we’re feeling (depression, resentment, bitterness, despondency), ask the mind what earlier incident that feeling relates to, take the first picture or word the mind casts up, and then be with it and the feelings, thoughts, agendas, strategies, etc. that come up with it until we’ve completed the experience of all of it. That’s the way to be free of it.

People have captured this strategy by saying “be with” your upset, “stand back and observe” your thoughts and behavior, sit with it like a brick in the lap, or “listen to” your feelings and “get the message” they’re trying to convey. These are ways of saying very similar things to the approach I described above.

One thing that can go wrong here is that we reject the first word or image the mind throws up to us. That’ll result in this process not working.

Another thing that can go wrong is that the vasana may not lift after the first pass. It may take several passes until it releases its grip. Some vasanas take long and deep processing before they let go.

I’ve seen one woman work at a very deep vasana through many Enlightenment Intensives, get through it, and have a transformational experience every time. If I was able to tell you what she was dealing with, it would curl your hair. No other form of therapy or treatment had come close to completing it.

It’s my most mature opinion that sourcing a vasana is the only way to get free of the limiting conditions in our lives that trace themselves back to our earlier, mostly childhood upsets that now rule us. Our sicknesses, our failed relationships, our business failures, all these things and more arise from our incompleted vasanas going off and essentially ruining our lives.

So if you’re thinking in extremes at this moment, if you’re spiralling downward, if you’re being grouchy with other people or thinking that your life is over, a vasana has just erupted and you’d be best advised to source it.

There’s an extensive literature on the subject in the righthand column under the section called “On Processing Vasanas.” If you do nothing else for yourself during this time of uncertainty and more waiting, perhaps learn how to source a vasana. That one investment will pay you more than all the other things you’re contemplating right now or perhaps ever will contemplate.

I wish I could wave a magic wand and give everyone complete mastery over the process by which we emerge from a vasana’s grip (but of course I don’t even have mastery over it myself). That would be my Christmas present to everyone (especially those people having Christmas dinner with their families of origin right now and feeling triggered). They could be having what Werner called a “stack attack” – a whole mess of vasanas going off at once.

It’s my belief that, if we source all our vasanas, we’ll be restored to our essential nature, see our original face, be enlightened, be liberated. There’s no greater obstacle to enlightenment, bliss, love and full satisfaction than our vasanas. And there’s nothing more valuable to a human being than sourcing their vasanas.

An Inadequate View of Reality

An Inadequate View of Reality

By Steve Beckow

Part 1

All our problems trace back to him? No. Really?

I just read an account of the last three hundred years or so which so warped “history” that I finally blew my stack.  If I’ve done any professional study, it’d be as an historian.

This post is long for which I apologize. I feel the need to have my say.

I was reading alleged accounts of various “peoples” as being at the heart of the world’s troubles.  Each account seemed to serve somebody’s purpose.

The various religions and races became good or bad depending on whether they served the writer’s or reader’s group desires and intentions. All the articles on the subject took for granted a great degree of cohesion through time.

One purpose was to explain how we got into this mess. Everyone picks someone other than their own team to blame. “Nations” – really, more like elites – (1) that were at the top of the pyramid are scrambling to patch up the crumbling narrative.

Not us! Not us!

Yes, us! (2) Always us. For so many reasons, as I hope to make clear.

***

We tend to identify and put our arms around the good guys. They’re the guys we like. They dress like us, speak our language. Just like us. … One thing is consistent: We’re always the good guys, right?

And we push away and isolate the bad guys. They’re the guys we don’t like. Maybe we don’t like their food or how they hold themselves or the sound of their language. They’re fundamentally just … well, not like us.  Again, what’s consistent is we’re never the bad guys.

Who knows what guides our choices or their choices overall? Our choices or their choices are all individual. We’re all individuals, which stereotyping, meming, labelling, etc., downplays or ignores.

Having decided on the characters and plot, we then shape or control the narrative to have our group win, be acknowledged, be applauded, etc.

This, at the level of the history of the world, has been our standard fare throughout human history, as far as I’m aware; witness ancient stelae (or monumental pillars) dutifully lauding this or that leader. Is there such a thing as an unbiased account?

And, if there were, what would constitute a history of the world? Who would get to choose what goes in and what stays out?

We already have a history of the world: It’s called the Akashic Records. (Google. No, maybe don’t Google.)  The Akashic Records don’t lie and they serve as the basis of the universal justice system which no one who’s causing the wars and the mayhem today will be able to avoid. (3)

***

I’m so tired of divisiveness and squabbling.

But at the same time, I also refuse to be divided and conquered or bamboozled over anything – climate change (human CO2 contribution is miniscule), pandemics (laboratory manufactured), Ukraine (money-laundering, child-trafficking), Hamas/Israel (elite genocide to clear way for Ben Gurion Canal).

Thank heavens for people of all persuasions who share a desire to live in love, peace, and the other divine qualities.  This community usually calls themselves lightworkers and loveholders. Some prefer one divine quality; some, another. But all are servants of the Mother and all are  acknowledged.

All qualities are simply flavors of love and end up at the same place: Home, what the Bible calls Salvation and Redemption. What the Buddha called Nirvana and Buddhahood. What Hindus call Sahaja and Vijnana.

Every religion knows it: We call it Ascension. (4)

It’s ascension to a higher vibration of consciousness where such a love exists that all chaos and mayhem disappear from the “within” of our minds. And thus they disappear from the “without” of our world as well.

All the chaos is here because the love energies are rising on the planet and forcing our incompletions up. As individuals and as a society.

We won’t have our favorite punching bag to blame the ills of the world on where we’re going. Love – tangible, wonderful love – will wipe away from our minds any thoughts of fear or harm or worry. (Yes, I’ve experienced it.) (5)

But before that permanent planetary heart opening we call Ascension, (6) we live now in a world that couldn’t be more divided and has been divided by a very definite group. They know who they are. I call them the elites. Just another name, as imprecise as any others, but at least one that I believe is accurate.

I leave it to the white hats, (7) backed by our star family’s federations (8) (who won’t allow nuclear weapons to be used or for a world war to occur), (9) to stop all serious human-rights abuses on the planet now.

That’s not what I’m addressing. It isn’t in my soul mission.

I’m addressing ideas and behavior – I call that “human culture.” (10)

But let me end the discussion here and continue tomorrow.

(Continued in Part 2.)

Footnotes

(1) All our use of group names need to be re-examined. What is an “American”? A “Catholic”? “A European”? A “capitalist”? A “communist”? A “leftist”? A “rightist”? These are all blunt instruments, even though I know we have to use words at this stage of things.

I’d like not to have to use any word to denote groups because any word would be too clumsy. But, if I have to use a word for what we usually call the cabal, the deep state, the Illuminati, I’d choose “elites.”

(2) By the Universal Law of Within and Without: The chaos, ignorance, and mayhem without is a result of the chaos, ignorance, and mayhem within.

(3) SaLuSa: Bear in mind that whatever happens where your dark ones are concerned, they will stand in the Halls of Justice before they start a new experience. (SaLuSa, Dec. 10, 2008, at  https://web.archive.org/web/20200213162751/http://www.treeofthegoldenlight.com/First_Contact/mike_quinsey/channeled%20messages/December%202008/12.10.08SaLuSa.htm.)

This book is intended to be a searchable database for spiritual experiences. Search on “heart opening,” “bliss,” “ecstasy,” “mastery,” “abundance,” etc., to take you to discussions of some higher-dimensional states and divine qualities.

Ascension is also a heart opening but a full and permanent one. It’s ascent into the Fifth or higher dimension. “Ascent ” is a vibrational matter and reflects spiritual physics: Having enough light within us to tolerate more refined conditions.

(7) For obvious reasons, the White Hats, apart from their flag-bearers, don’t want to be identified.  Two articles are helpful for general background: “Program Guide to Tonight’s Performance from Juan O. Savin,” Ezra Cohen-Watnick: Spelling It Out 1 Time,”

Therein Lies the Work

Therein Lies the Work

By Steve Beckow

Posted on May 12, 2023

Will Rogers as the 1931 Connecticut Yankee

If the Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court went forward in time to this age, what would he see?

Well, first of all, he wouldn’t travel to King Arthur’s court; he’d be surfing the Internet.  And his liege lord, Arthur, wouldn’t be worrying about his wife running off with his chief knight.

The current ruler would probably be worried about being offed, if they’re not already replaced by a clone or masked actor.

And the ones doing the offing would be worried about their heads as well.

And it wouldn’t be just the realm that would be in peril. If you listen to the mockingbird heralds of today – hear ye, hear ye – the whole world would be in peril.

And from several sources. Uhhh, manmade climate change. Mmmm, multiple manmade pandemics. Errr, manmade energy scarcity. What happened to killer bees? Manmade?

How did we get here, pray tell?

I have a private opinion. You can agree with me or toss it, as you wish.

I think it all stems from us giving in to the same impulses on a social level which today, on a personal level, ruin marriages, businesses, all good ventures. We extend out into the social sphere the very impulses that eat away at our marriage and family structures.  Or am I the only one who does?

Resentments, judgments, malintentions, gossip, all the flotsam and jetsam of billions of ruined lives. On and on, down through time via .. what did Michael call it? – “legacy learned behavior.” (1) Excellent description. Intergenerational transfer. Like father like son.

I’ve actually stopped the clock at times when I’m acting poorly, and I hear “that’ll teach him a lesson.” I can see my Dad and hear him speaking as if in an inner movie. In my anger, I’m copying the behavior.  It’s the only movie I have and the only one that plays. Otherwise I have to consciously reject it, assuming I’m even aware of what’s going on.

In fact I didn’t want to be a father because I knew that the only movies I had in my head were unsuitable for parenting. I wanted to stop the intergenerational transfer but for me that meant no parenting at all.

Meanwhile, the rising love energies are going to squeeze all the bad thoughts out of us. But anyone who feels like taking the “emergency exit” out of their own private collapsing world should know that they can handle the matter without leaving, by processing these disagreeable thoughts and words. (See fn 2)

Here comes the bad news, to some: We do it, not by projecting our bad thoughts and feelings outwards, scalding others, which feels good for a moment but bad for a lifetime.

We do it by experiencing our thoughts and feelings to completion, which feels bad for a moment but good for a lifetime.

But therein lies our work.

We’re looking for the original incident that bent the twig and inclined the tree, on the premise that the truth will set us free. And it will set us free. We can use an increasing sense of release to guide us.

That’s a change of direction and it made all the difference in the world to me.  It’d be as if people were now saying “I love you” to you, instead of “why don’t you [fill in the blanks]? ”

Or like me, at the Safeway. Clerks are smiling at me instead of giving me a look that says, “Who is this jerk?” This is so new to me that I often stop and stare at them.

Meanwhile, in the wider world, so few people seem to make eye contact right now. We seem to feel, not defeated, but deflated after Covid. Will it take time or a gigantic effort or a Wave of Love to jackhammer us out of what appears to be a social malaise?

Footnotes

(1) AAM, March 28, 2019. We take inner movies of our parents’ and siblings’ “bad behavior” and that becomes the raw resource we unconsciously draw on and act out later. The result is that we become like our parents’ worst sides as well as their best, without knowing it. Thus is bad behavior perpetuated and works its way outwards.

(2) See “How to Handle Unwanted Feelings: The Upset Clearing Process,” December 29, 2018, at https://goldenageofgaia.com/2018/12/29/how-to-handle-unwanted-feelings-the-upset-clearing-process-2/, also a chapter in Vasanas: Preparing For Ascension by Clearing Old Issues at https://goldenageofgaia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Vasanas-Preparing-for-Ascension-R2.pdf.

A vasana is a patterned response to an earlier traumatic situation. It includes a conclusion, a decision, assessments, strategies, etc., etc, that govern future behavior.

In a World that Few Hearts Survive

In a World that Few Hearts Survive

By Steve Beckow

Posted on May 5, 2023

“Who knows what tomorrow brings
In a world few hearts survive.”

Thanks to Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes. (1)

I’d like to continue our conversation from yesterday. (2)

Why do so few hearts survive?

As we discussed yesterday,  I think the problem is inherent in the structure of our communication in a Third-Dimensional world. I’d like to take another pass at the subject. I apologize for any repetition.

Most of us, particularly men, live, whether we’re aware of it or not, only at the intellectual level of reality.

At that level, we seem to congregate around polarized intellectual questions of good/bad, right/wrong, beautiful/ugly, etc.

As far as I can see, the ego, whose pre-occupation is our survival, operates at this level to create stories throughout our lives, drawn from events, as we discussed yesterday, that represent us self-servingly.

In other words, we emerge from our carefully-groomed stories looking and sounding good, right, beautiful and all other good things.

We emerge responsible for all good outcomes and not responsible for the bad. We’re responsible for victories, not defeats; gains, not losses; fortunate outcomes, not unfortunate; etc.

In all ways, we de best.

This self-servingness works to counterbalance the criticism we get from others and the resulting lack of self-worth which seems so common in our society. All of it goes on outside the experience of love.

We create alliances with people who will agree with us and “buy” our story … I almost said, our BS. And this is as good as life gets, as long as we stay at this level. No love (not the love I have in mind); (3) just self-righteousness.

Meanwhile, in my opinion, a lot of harm is caused because, for every one that’s right, someone gets to be wrong; for good, bad; etc. That leaves a lot of bruised feelings and animosity that, these days, few hearts survive.

***

The next level up is the experiential. That recognizes that there is a whole world of experience that we may be shut off to, without knowing it.

But knowing it allows us to see in a much fuller way why the other person does what they do and what it is they need.

Ask this person how they feel and they’ll likely respond: Good or not so good. If you persist, they may get disturbed as people do when asked something they don’t know. … OK, as I do when asked something I don’t know.

As a society I’d say, respectfully, that we’re out of touch with our feelings. We’re not used to observing and being aware of them. We don’t know how to name what we feel.

We don’t appear to have a well-developed emotional language. Our emotional IQ is not what it could be. And perhaps will be.

I know it took me six weeks of a twelve-week resident encounter group in 1975/6 to discover that I was out of touch with my feelings.

Our feelings are what motivate us to act. “I was so angry, I protested.” “I was so touched, I wept.” “I was so much in love, I couldn’t help myself.”

We then consult our thoughts on what to do, unless our feelings are so strong that they dictate our immediate action. Then it looks like we acted “unthinkingly.”

***

Why I write is that I want to encourage folks to widen their communication net to include the experiential/emotional.

When we do, we immediately find that we’re getting the information from our partner or others that we need to make an informed and friendly decision. And they no longer feel vilified or attacked.

If we’re the listener, in my view, we need to listen for is the speaker’s feelings. We then mirror them back to confirm our understanding: You sound (disappointed, discouraged, elated).  Once their feeling is acknowledged, most people appear to move on to the next subject. Interestingly.

I think, if we were able to ask folks, we’d find that one chronically felt need in our societies is our desire to be heard. Really heard. Until the speaker has had a chance to get all the pieces out there on the table. (4)

I won’t go into the subject here more than to make this plea and develop it elsewhere. In my opinion, we need to add to our intellectual sharing an emotional dimension to more authentically present ourselves and be more deeply understood.

The alternative is to engage in intellectual discussions of right/wrong, leaving residue that festers and drives separation.

If we want to be loved and appreciated by our partners in communication rather than being hated and  opposed, if we want our hearts to survive, we need to expand our range of communication and eliminate the focus on good/bad, right/wrong.

I, Robot: The Mechanism of Self-Interest

I, Robot: The Mechanism of Self-Interest

I’m watching how deeply my self-serving bias goes and, oh, my, it goes right down to basic, vote-changing, decision-making level.

Prime Directive: All decisions must support me.

Everything else flows from that.

Of course I assume that everyone else acts in the same self-serving way.

I treat people differently: When I see a friend acting self-servingly, I turn away. But when I see a “foe,” I watch closely and mentally take notes.

And afterwards, if there’s any fallout from my self-serving actions, I apply a goodly dose of guilt and shame that cements over the cracks in the constructed self that emerges.

How can I look out there and see corruption when I corrupt myself many times a day? I even watch myself listen self-servingly to myself saying that. What self-serving use can I make of that admission?

Everything, everything is seen through this self-serving lens.

It’s true to say that way, way below it lies self-love. I can feel it now whereas a decade ago I could not.

But that love of self has to come up through many layers (bodies, dimensions, whatever) to be felt at the surface. Or one has had a heart opening and so there is some back-and-forth communication of love.

By the time it reaches the surface, it’s overwhelmed by superficial but strong currents of self-interest. In the past, it has never been expressed. It hasn’t reached that level.

So, therefore, I cannot say I’m fully self-expressed. My self-servingness limits my expression to only what serves me. It shapes my expression in that I subject the “truth” to expression which serves me – words, inflection, timing, etc.

All of this is done with high intention. I might call it “making a good impression.” Or “putting my best face on.” Or “putting my best foot forward.”

I have in reserve justifications, excuses, and denials to buttress my position if challenged.

Rather than being an urban monk, I’m really more like a Ninja Turtle.

The worst part of the self-serving bias is that it requires me to hide.  And that triggers off a whole array of mechanisms – withholding, deflecting, redirecting, etc. – to keep what’s hidden hidden as well as hiding the fact that I’m hiding.

I no longer present myself. I present my “mechanism,” I, Robot.

None of this will fly on the Fifth Dimension, where the truth can be seen in our aura. Mind you, we won’t “need” anything on the Fifth Dimension either, so the need to be self-serving (to serve our survival) will go away.

I think a person ages over time – for however much longer we do age over time – in great measure because they become more and more narrowly self-serving.

That’s one experiment I don’t intend to run to find out.
