A New Language

A New Language
Post on June 17 2026

You are learning to speak a new language. One of the heart and soul rather than of the mind. Tentative at first, practice brings it more into focus, makes it more real and much more beautiful.

The understanding of heart/soul speak may require that you release the need to hide your feelings from others and just put it out there. This, of course, may trigger those around you… the ones that are not familiar with truth-speaking.

Remember to let go of the need to take it personally. It has always been a part of the grand plan for your new Earth plane. Trust it.

The Quiet Signs A Friendship Is Doing More Harm Than Good

The Quiet Signs A Friendship Is Doing More Harm Than Good

By Diane Kathrine

Posted on March 24, 2026

You may already know, especially if you are a regular reader of my blog, that certain people in our lives, those who bring stress, tension, or emotional heaviness, can quietly wear us down over time. They can even add years to our life in the way of premature aging.

I remember having a sense of relief when I finally understood that creating a little distance from certain relationships isn’t cold or unkind; it can actually be a deeply healing act towards ourselves.

But it took me time, quite a lot of time, to arrive at that understanding.

For the longest while, I questioned myself instead. I wondered if I was just being overly sensitive, if I was reading too much into things, or expecting too much from people. There was also that lingering belief that stepping back from someone, especially someone who had been in my life for a long time, somehow made me unkind… or worse, disloyal. I think many of us Empaths feel like we should endure and make space for others even when it is damaging.

This is a subject I explored last year in my post “Empaths Are Not Emotional Punchbags”, where I discussed the importance of recognising when we’re being drained or overextended. But what I feel drawn to talk about now are those long-term friendships that don’t necessarily feel obviously harmful, but over time have shifted or quietly soured in ways we may not immediately recognise.

Because sometimes, it’s not about clear conflict or obvious hurt. Sometimes, it’s just a feeling… a gradual misalignment, a sense that something no longer feels as safe or as easy as it once did.

But how do you recognise when a friendship isn’t serving you, especially when it’s often more subtle than spotting red flags in romantic relationships?

For Empaths in particular, it can be harder, we’re wired to understand, to give the benefit of the doubt, and we often keep people in our life out of guilt.

Here are a few gentle signs to notice:

You feel unsettled after being with them

If you often leave interactions feeling anxious, drained, flat, frustrated, or somehow “less yourself,” it’s worth tuning into that. You might notice you’re on edge around them, thinking carefully about what to say, watching their reactions, or struggling to fully relax.

Sometimes, the feeling shows up even before you see them… a quiet sense of anxiety, maybe followed by guilt for feeling that way. Or perhaps they say or do things that leave you feeling hurt, unseen, or misunderstood.

There’s an undercurrent of negativity

Not all toxicity is loud. Sometimes it’s subtle, like backhanded compliments or small comments that don’t quite sit right.

Other times, it’s clearer: sharing your private thoughts with others, minimising your feelings, competing instead of celebrating you, or making passive-aggressive remarks. As an Empath, you’ll often feel this before you can fully name it.

You’re carrying the emotional weight

If you’re always the one reaching out, making the plans, listening, and supporting, it can start to feel unbalanced. Healthy friendships flow both ways.

You might also notice inconsistency, warmth in private, but distance or dismissal around others. That kind of shift can feel confusing and quietly eroding.

If something feels off, how do you approach it?

Not every difficult moment means the friendship is unhealthy. Sometimes people we care about are simply going through something heavy.

If it feels right to speak up, try to choose a calm, grounded moment. Lead with your feelings rather than blame:

“I’ve been feeling a bit disconnected from us lately” opens a conversation far more gently than “You never make an effort.”

Sadly, people who take a lot may be running on empty. Those who diminish others can sometimes be carrying their own insecurities. That doesn’t make the behaviour okay, but it can help you decide whether this is something to work through, or a sign that the connection isn’t aligned anymore.

If a direct conversation feels like too much, it’s okay to take a step back quietly. Creating a little space can give you room to breathe, and sometimes the dynamic naturally shifts, or becomes clearer.

Knowing when it’s time to let go

There isn’t a perfect formula for this, and it can feel especially hard when you care deeply or if a friend has been in your life for a long time. But a few questions might help you decide:Has this always felt this way, or is it a phase?

All friendships have ebbs and flows, but if it’s felt heavy for a long time, even after you’ve tried to address it, it may be worth asking whether it can truly meet you where you are.Is what you receive worth what it costs you?

Your energy, peace, time, and emotional wellbeing matter. It’s okay to weigh that honestly. What’s keeping you here?

History and loyalty are meaningful, but they’re not reasons to stay in something that makes you feel small, stressed or even ill. If the answer is guilt or uncertainty, that’s something to gently explore.

Letting go doesn’t have to be dramatic. Sometimes it’s as simple as taking longer to reply, spacing out meetups, or just giving yourself permission to invest your energy where it feels returned and safe.

At the heart of it all, this is about leaning into your Sensitivity, not seeing it as something to override, but something to trust.

Your feelings are information, and you’re allowed to choose connections that feel like home.

Hope this helps on your journey,

Until next time,

Diane Kathrine

Showing Your Soul

Showing Your Soul

Your beauty does not exist in the exterior shell that is your body. It does not exist in the things you do for others; it certainly does not exist in how others perceive you. Your true beauty lies in how you show your soul to the world!

It may be challenging to walk around with an open heart knowing others may not understand the reasoning behind it. But you, my brave and beautiful one, know the intrinsic gifts of it.

Take the courage, power and understanding of The Universe and use it to your best advantage… show the way for others and, those who are willing to listen, will take up the mantle as well.

Give Yourself Space to See Truth

Give Yourself Space to See Truth

Daily Inspiration

By Kate Spreckley

November 28, 2024

In the past few months we have gained a clarity of knowing what we truly want or need on a deep soul level. With Saturn now stationing direct and Mercury soon to follow, there is even more clarity emerging around how to proceed and move forward. With this clarity we are able to look at our lives in a new light with more objectivity and understanding of the changes needed. We are urged now to approach everything with awareness and maturity remembering that it is only with the dissolution of the old that we can build something new.

As you move into the weekend be mindful that there is no need to push or rush forward. This is a period where you are being asked to give yourself space to see the truth of all that you are navigating without reacting impulsively. Remember that old patterns and dynamics are dissolving bringing a profound emotional integration that will take you into a more joyful exploration of what is now possible. By the end of the weekend you will feel more motivated to take action as feelings of hope and optimism rise allowing you to see your life and your future in a more positive light.

Much love

Kate

Listening & Understanding

Listening and Understanding

The Creator Writings

For some, seeing is feeling. There is a need to see and touch before you can evoke a feeling. The Universe is asking you to practice your feeling today. If you have seen and touched a rose before, you know what it feels like and how it smells.

The rose does not need to be present to recall that feeling. But, what of something you have never seen or experienced before?

Ask to be shown! When you become more in tune with feelings that do not have a basis in physical reality, you will become more open to what The Universe is saying to you.

You will become more skilled in listening and understanding. It is one of the reasons you chose to be here now.

Jupiter Shifts Retrograde

Jupiter Shifts Retrograde

Daily Inspiration

By Kate Spreckley

November 10, 2024

Our journey of growth is a constant movement of inward and outward involving both times of introspection and external engagement. The inward movement takes us into a space of self-reflection and involves looking within to gain greater self-awareness, insight and understanding. It is what creates the foundation for meaningful outward action. The outward movement is the application of our awareness and understanding to the external world. Periods of inward reflection inform our outward actions and our experiences from the outward world prompt further inward reflection, creating a continuous cycle of learning, adaptation, and growth.

Currently we are in a time of inward reflection with the incoming energies and retrograding planets supporting introspection. We are being urged to reflect on where we are going and what we are doing. Today, Jupiter the planet that governs growth and expansion shifts retrograde adding another layer to the already saturated retrograde energy we are moving through. Jupiter’s retrograde period asks us to reevaluate our growth and expansion, and ensure that whatever choices and decisions we are making align with our soul.

This is a time to be radically honest with yourself, and to truly determine what has meaning and purpose. It may require you accepting current circumstances as they are, rather than how you wish them to be while letting go of comforting illusions or narratives that no longer serve you. Rather than rushing to find solutions or to make sense of everything stay curious, be patient, and slow down. Learn to trust in the timing and the unfolding of events. Be aware of how you may be blocking yourself with limiting thoughts or rigid ideas. Confront the lingering issues that may be unconsciously impacting you. Be willing to experience an expanded view of yourself, your life, and what is possible.
Much love

Deeper Awareness & Understanding

Deeper Awareness & Understanding

Daily Inspiration

By Kate Spreckley

October 31, 2024

It’s been an intense week, and an intense month, with the incoming energies forcing to the surface our deeply held needs, feelings, emotions and fears. All that needs to be seen, worked with, healed and released. It is a time that calls for maturity, objectivity, and patience as we navigate some pretty turbulent waters.
We end the month in a more contemplative space where our feelings and intuition are heightened. In this space our awareness can shift, and our perspective expand, allowing us to tap into the deeper layers of our subconscious. Hidden patterns and unexpected insights may arise, leading us towards new ideas and creative breakthroughs, the very keys that can unlock deeper awareness and understanding.
As one month ends and another begins, take a moment to reflect. Pay attention to what new level of awareness you are reaching. Keep in mind that November promises greater depth, integration, closure, and realignment. Allow yourself the grace to stay open and curious without coming to any final deductions. Let clarity unfold.
Much love

How We Talk to Ourselves Really Matters

How We Talk to Ourselves Really Matters

By Leo Babauta

Posted on July 28, 2025

One of the biggest things that has power over our lives is something that most people are unaware of — how we talk to ourselves. It’s unseen, and therefore we’re powerless to it, and don’t even realize how much power it has over us.

We talk to ourselves in really negative ways, and it makes such a huge difference:

  • Stressing ourselves out: We look at a situation and then tell ourselves that it’s terrible, scary, hard! Basically, our inner dialog escalates the stress of the situation. Instead of reassuring ourselves that we’ve got this, we press some level of the panic button.
  • Discouraging ourselves: Things aren’t going our way … and so our inner dialog says things like, “This is too hard. You can’t do this. This isn’t working. You suck at this.” So discouraging! And so we tend to give up from this.
  • Criticizing ourselves: When we don’t do as well as we’d like, we often have a critical inner voice, which is stressful, frustrating, discouraging. The hope is that this inner critic will spur us to do better, but it usually has a negative effect.
  • Making ourselves frustrated: When we think things should be going better, we can have an inner voice that says things like, “Why does it have to be this way? Why do I always struggle with this? Why do they have to act that way?” And while this is understandable, it usually leads to frustration.
  • Making ourselves avoid difficult things: When something is scary or hard, our inner voice might find rationalizations: “You can do this later. Give yourself a break.” And so we avoid.

As you can see, this inner voice is speaking all the time, and it usually has some really negative effects on us. It makes us want to avoid or quit what we really want to do. It sabotages projects and habits. It leaves us feeling stressed, frustrated, discouraged, down.

So how do we overcome this? Through two important steps:

  1. Becoming aware of the inner voice
  2. Using this voice as an ally for good

Let’s take a look!

Bringing Awareness to the Inner Voice

If we aren’t aware that the voice is there, we can’t do anything about it. But it’s been there so long that it’s just background noise at this point.

Let’s try an experiment:

  1. For just 10 minutes, try to pay attention to any thoughts that come up in your head.
  2. Pick a hard task you’ve been avoiding.
  3. Commit yourself to doing that hard task for just 10 minutes. Set a timer, and go after it.
  4. Notice what thoughts come up, before, during and after.

For some people, there will be an avoidance of the experiment altogether. If that’s you, what do you tell yourself to avoid the experiment?

For others, they might get stuck in the “pick a hard task” step — what doubts come up that stop you from choosing?

For others, there will be a number of thoughts that come up as they try to get started, or as they do the task. What rationalizations, doubts, or other thoughts can you notice?

Write them down. This is how you learn to be aware of this inner voice.

Now do this experiment every day for two weeks. You’ll see your inner voice so much more than ever before. And you’ll become aware of it outside of those 10 minutes a day as well. (Also note what you tell yourself to avoid doing the experiment for two weeks!)

Bonus: also notice your thoughts when you are avoiding anything. Or feeling discouraged or frustrated.

Learning to Use the Inner Voice for Good

OK, so let’s say you’ve been doing the two-week experiment. You’re more aware of the inner voice. This is huge.

Now we can start to create an ally in this inner voice. It can do a lot of good, but we have to practice.

Notice when your inner voice is being critical or discouraging, or causing you to avoid or be stressed. Notice what it’s saying.

Now start to change the inner dialog, with a gentle and friendly attitude:

  • Be understanding: When the voice is harsh, tell it that you understand that it’s afraid. Afraid of not being good enough. Tell it that you understand that it’s trying to help you, to protect you. Then reassure it: you’ve got this. Ask it to trust you.
  • Be encouraging: Instead of saying discouraging things, ask the voice to encourage you. “You can do this! You got this!” Things like that. Ask the voice to be your best cheerleader.
  • Be friendly: Ask the voice to be kind and friendly as well — when we’re feeling down and discouraged, we just want a kind friend to be there with us. The voice can be that: “It’s OK, buddy, you tried your best. You can learn from this. You can dust yourself off and try again.”
  • Be inspired: Often, we force ourselves to do things. But what if we could talk to ourselves in a way that’s not a taskmaster, but an inspirational speaker? The voice could remind you of why this is important, and tell you about the beautiful possibility this task represents for you.

These are just some things you can try. You could try other approaches as well: being curious, adventurous, humorous, playful, grateful, loving.

In the end, this is about reclaiming the power of our inner voice. And as we do so, we’ll be changing the course of our lives.

with love,

Your Inner Being As Your Greatest Resource

Your Inner Being As Your Greatest Resource

by Owen Waters

Posted on July 13, 2025

Your inner being – your soul or higher self – is not something that you have. It is what you are.

Your complete consciousness is your inner being. All of the so-called parts of your mind – the conscious, the subconscious and the superconscious parts – are all facets of your one, complete consciousness, your inner being.

Your conscious mind is the result of your inner being focusing attention upon the outer world through your physical brain and senses. When, instead, you turn your attention from the outer world toward the inner world, you access the resources of your inner being.

Your inner being possesses all of the wisdom, understanding and strength that you will ever need. It is your ultimate, personal resource. Your inner being is also your link with the universe and with the consciousness behind all life, Infinite Being.

If you think of yourself as living your life like a performer on stage, then your inner being is like the backstage technician who makes sure that your performance has all the support that it needs to make everything happen on cue.

The amount of knowledge and wisdom available within you is unlimited. In order to access it, you only have to make an intention to go within and find it.

Your subconscious mind runs all of your biological systems without conscious effort on your part. In fact, if you think about it, the subconscious mind of an ant knows more about biochemistry than today’s leading scientists.

Your inner being knows even more; in fact, everything about anything you want to know anything about. The trick is to ask the question and then silence your conscious mind enough to hear the answer.

When you become consciously aware of the true nature of your inner being and its resources of wisdom, understanding and strength, you begin to dissolve many of the former limitations to your growth.

The key to expressing your human potential is to know that all potential lies within you and you only have to open an external channel in order to begin to allow that unlimited potential to flow out into the world.

The power is within. To become empowered, you don’t have to become something new. You only have to realize that you already have that power within, then allow that infinite inner potential to flow into your life.

To develop your sense of conscious contact with your inner being, see it as a way for you to have a partnership in the project of Life. Be willing to poll your inner being for feedback on everyday decisions. It has a wider view of the energies of life than does your physical mind, so this is a partnership which produces enormous benefits toward happy, safe, and productive experiences.

The big question is, of all the techniques of spiritual awakening that could make such inner guidance possible, which are the ones that are most effective and easiest to perform? And, how can they be combined for best effect when meeting daily challenges?

Here is something to ponder today…

In your everyday interactions, what do you bring to the table? Every moment you are presented with opportunities for growth and learning, however, how well you integrate those lessons is completely up to you.

Do you react with love and compassion, understanding, anger, anxiousness or do you refuse to accept any of it at all? The Universe’s wisdom is available to you at a moment’s notice. Choices, infinite choices are available to you every day.

How you use them is, again, completely up to you.
