Who Are You? Easy Ways to Discover Your Authentic Self

Who Are You? Easy Ways to Discover Your Authentic Self

By Pascaline Odogwu

April 22, 2026

The elements of earth are not just around us; they live within us.

Learn to sit in silence, speak your truth, follow your energy, and become the steady, magnetic person you admire.

“Who are you?”

It’s such a simple question, yet it shakes something ancient inside the chest. When you ask people this question—when I look someone in the eye and ask, “Who are you?”—their voice suddenly becomes careful. They sit up straighter, as if they’re being interviewed. Their answer becomes a performance. They start telling me who they aspire to be, reciting the polished parts of themselves—the parts that sound good on paper.

Of course, not everyone reacts this way. I’ve met a few rare souls who live with a kind of quiet honesty. But many of us still struggle to be our authentic selves.

Most people, when asked “Who are you?” mention traits they’ve never truly possessed. They highlight the strengths they hope others will notice and hide the weaknesses they hope will be overlooked. Some cling to the parts that make them look good, while others hold on to anything that might make them seem mysterious or edgy, because the modern world has romanticized toxicity into an aesthetic.

We pick personality traits like outfits.

We install identities like filters.

We show the clean parts and hide the messy ones.

Here is the heartbreaking truth: Many people do not know who they are.

Abandoning Your True Self

When you don’t know yourself, you become vulnerable to anything. A comment can break you. A rumor can define you. A stranger’s opinion can redirect your life. A single moment of rejection can collapse your sense of worth.

So people shrink. They bend. They perform. They beg for crumbs of validation. When you don’t know who you are, you morph into any shape that makes the world clap for you. You start confusing approval with identity, attention with affection. You chase affirmation even when it costs you your dignity.

But here’s the irony: The comfort you get from pretending will never compare to what you receive when you finally become grounded in yourself.

The people with the strongest presence—the ones who walk into a room and quietly shift the atmosphere—all have one thing in common: They are sure of who they are. They carry a rootedness, a steadiness. They attract without trying. Even if the whole world opposed them today, they would wake tomorrow with the same sense of self.

And that’s the painful punchline: The magnetism you admire in them is the very thing you’re chasing in the wrong ways.

Evidence of the Inauthentic You

You say that you know who you are? Okay, then … think about the times your actions told a different story:

When your boyfriend cheated, and you tried to be more like the other woman just to keep him.

When your family treated you poorly, yet you kept giving while struggling.

When you bent over backwards for people who didn’t notice.

When you stayed silent to avoid conflict with someone who disrespected you.

When you said yes when you wanted to say no.

When you apologized for being yourself.

This isn’t about judging yourself. It’s about noticing your patterns. Not in the quest for perfection, but in order to recognize when you have given away parts of yourself so you can learn to hold them close again.

Knowing yourself means valuing your worth first so the world’s approval becomes optional instead of necessary.

Feel What You Really Feel

So how do you start?

It begins with being alone without distraction. There’s no need to escape to a cabin in the woods—try just sitting in your car with the radio off, taking a walk without headphones, showering without your phone on, or lying in bed without scrolling.

In that silence, the noise you’ve been running from finally catches up. At first it’s uncomfortable. You’ll meet the anxiety you’ve been dodging, the boredom you’ve been medicating, the thoughts you’ve drowned under other people’s opinions. But if you stay, if you stop reaching for the phone every time you feel a twinge of discomfort, you’ll start hearing your own voice—not the performative one, but the real one.

The second step is simple yet challenging: Tell the truth out loud. Start small. When you’re not fine, say, “Actually, I’m not great.” When you don’t want to go out, say, “I don’t feel like it tonight.” When you’re hurt, don’t say, “It’s okay.” Say, “That hurt me.” Each small truth draws a line that says: This is me.

As those truths stack up, your boundaries become clearer, and you can suddenly answer the previously unknowable questions: Who am I when no one is watching? Who am I when I stop editing myself?

Becoming Radically Honest

The final step is to track your energy as if it matters, because it does. Notice what drains you and what genuinely fills you up—not what you’re supposed to love, and not what looks impressive to others.

Ask yourself:

  • What types of conversations make me feel lighter?
  • Time spent with which people in my life makes me feel heavier?
  • Which activities make time disappear?
  • Which obligations make me dread the day?

Your energy doesn’t lie; it’s the most accurate compass you have. Follow it even when it makes you the “weird” one, and even when it disappoints others. The alternative is spending your life emotionally and spiritually bankrupt, wondering why nothing feels like home.

When you finally start to focus your energy on what’s truly yours, you’ll wake up one day and realize:

Oh. This is what it feels like to be me.

And nobody can take that away.

The Weaving Begins; Awakening To Our Unique Light In A New World

The Weaving Begins; Awakening To Our Unique Light In A New World

We are discovering a deep silence of pure presence within us during this unique solstice time. It has been challenging to find the audible words to express this in a way that conveys the magnitude of this micro polishing of our beingness. This is the last bit of work in this phase of our great landing in this new cycle. Our refined micro life reviews have been guiding us to lost corners within us that need our light to bloom. This is allowing us to remember who we have always been, and always will be, in a world where we have never been.

This profound moment of self-reflection is shaping a new path for us. This is the path we were born to follow. We have never truly fit into this world as it is, nor were we meant to. Our purpose is to invite the world into our lives and share our unique expressions. We are learning to love our true selves, realizing how we have often judged ourselves in many subtle ways, so that we could fit in this old world. It’s time to let our uniqueness shine through. This marks the beginning of the intertwining of a great weaving of all the threads between us and our diverse expressions. This will forge a new creation unlike any other. New cycles always bring new expressions of life, and ours is beginning to take shape.

We are on the brink of fully healing our pasts, ready to know and accept ourselves as the Creator has always known us. This marks our first step into a new world . . . the very reason we came here. The journey hasn’t been easy for many of us. It has not been a soft life for many. We have faced being misunderstood, felt great isolation, and struggled to find our place. Others have been jealous of our unique light and have tried to diminish our natural divinity when they could not claim it for themselves, forgetting they also have this divinity. We all possess a divine and unique expression of light, and will bring this light to shape this emerging world we are landing upon.

There is no need for us to emulate others to fit in. Instead, we must go within and remember who we have always been. It’s time to set aside the old wounds, betrayals, judgments, and neglects we have suffered over eons from living in a world of mis-creation. These wounds have only fueled our doubts diminished our self-confidence and created crippling procrastination to walk in our light. We will begin to release the overwhelming desire to fit in when we realize we are a unique thread in the fabric of life.

Our existence was never meant to be easy, but it wasn’t intended to be hard either. We have made it difficult by trying to conform like our ancestors did before us. Those days are behind us. We are not judging our ancestors, for they have created a path for us to follow that has led us to the great precipice of this moment. We are in a new cycle, a new frequency, a New World, and everything is changing in unexpected, unpredictable ways like quicksand under our feet. Yet, we are remembering true selves on deeper levels than we have ever had before.

A divine and ancient weaving process is now unfolding. This is the moment when unity among diversity starts to take root in the outer world. As this transformation occurs and the threads of life in the world come together, we can weave a vision of peace, unity, harmony, and integrity spreading across the Earth. This is the dawn of a new era for which we came. This is the beginning of the end of divisions, of taking sides or seeing each other as different, but it is also the beginning of the end of wars. Although the world may not reflect this new vision in the outer world, having chaos before dawn is a natural part of the process. The weaving now begins among all the impeccable awakening hearts.

(The summer solstice is on June 20 at 10:42 p.m. EDT, marking the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.)

I am falling into unknown depths of my heart.
It feels oddly familiar but also very ancient.
Yet, I know I have never been here before.
It is a home coming after being gone a long while.
It is new, but this has always been home.
It is the depth of existence dipped in honey.
I am lost in the whole of life, the whole of creation, all at once.
And . . . this is LOVE.

Wisdom for the Week

Wisdom for the Week

By Kate Spreckley

Posted on April 12, 2024

As the intense energy of yesterday's Full Moon begins to settle we will start to feel the powerful expansion that March created within us.  This expansion is like nothing we have ever experienced before and as a result, you may find yourself feeling a little unbalanced and unstable as you adjust and recalibrate.

You may feel tender, perhaps even a little raw as the the energy of the Full Moon continues to stir emotions shedding light on what has until now been unseen and or hidden.  What is important is how you respond.  This is not a time for rushing forward.  It is a time where you are being urged to consider and reflect.  You are still in a process of aligning with the shifts that have already taken place within you.  Whatever has and is unfolding for you requires you to move forward with responsiblity and with integrity.

Be mindful that you are bieng called to step more fully into a more evolved version of yourself.  As such you must now embrace the transformation, identity shifts and reinvention that is being offered.  Remember that you are learning to transmute the darkness into light and as you continue to focus on the inner work necessary and needed, a deeper understanding of the changes now manifesting with arise.

Allow yourself to delve into the depths of your desires and motivations to eliminate the internal limitations and blocks that keep you from focusing your energy and attention on what serves your soul.  This is a crucial moment where you get to confront the inner struggles and conflict that keeps you stuck and bound to the past.

If you are feeling stuck, unsure or needing realignment and or guidance this is the perfect time to go deeper.  A one-on-one session with me can help you gain clarity, release what's holding you back, and step through this time with purpose and confidence.  Click on the button below for more information and to book your session.

In months masterclass - The Shift In Consciousness - I will share with you a deeper understanding of what is being asked of us as we move through these incredible times. Deepening our awareness of the shift in consciousness allows us to move through it with greater ease and grace while also enabling us to consciously engage with the changes and transformation that is being demanded.

With much love,

Kate

"Jesus didn’t teach ascension"

"Jesus didn’t teach ascension"

Of course he did. It’s one of his primary teachings. Jesus is as New Age as it gets. He literally promised a New Heaven and a New Earth.

The problem is that modern Christians are following Church doctrine, not Jesus’s teachings. They repeat 1 or 2 verses which are inaccurate representations of what he said.

“There is no way to the father but through me”

First of all, what does this have to do with being murdered for God? Nothing. So why do modern Christians disregard his teachings in favor of a pagan blood sacrifice?

Jesus spoke Aramaic. No one tries to research what he really said because it reverses much of what the Church taught.

He said ABWOON (Source) not ABBA (Father). His entire message was about God being within us. There is no way to Source but to go within. His message is the only way, not worship of angry gods ordering murder and slavery (anunnaki). Not once did Jesus refer to Yahweh-Jehovah as God.

Jesus didn’t say he would return to rule this world as a king, he said he’d take us where he is. A place where “many mansions” are prepared (5D Earth).

What will happen? “in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed”…. “One will be taken and one will be left behind.” (People will vanish)

How will we know it’s coming? “At that time they will see the Son of Man (like humans) coming in a cloud with power and great glory (UFOs). When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

Jesus didn’t practice blood rituals to God so he couldn’t have been a final sacrifice to his own God. He never mentioned Yahweh or Jehovah at all. He didn’t claim he was going to die for our sins. In the story, he didn’t volunteer, he was betrayed.

He taught that God was within and we will do even greater miracles. Modern Christians mindlessly repeats slogans like “Jesus is King”, and are clearly believe more in the power of demons than angels.

Jesus didn’t create religion. He didn’t travel around telling people he was God. He said the kingdom of God is within us, that we are gods too, and we will do greater miracles than he did.

Church doctrine is brainwashing to keep you away from what Jesus taught.
