A Breath of Fresh Air

In Canada, the Liberal and New Democratic Party seem to be in service to the World Economic Forum.
Enter stage right, Pierre Poilievre, now leader of the Conservative Party. Confident and balanced, Pierre seems alive … I won’t say “woke” … to many of the issues of the day.
In fact, he made such a succinct definition of “woke” culture recently that I’d like to draw attention to it:
“’Woke’ has one purpose. Only one purpose. Plenty of pretexts. But only one purpose. Control. It is designed to divide people by race, by gender, by ethnicity, by religion, by vaccine status and, by any other way that they can, to divide people into groups. Why? Because then you can justify having a government to control all those groups.
“No more woke. We need freedom.” (1)
Dang! I wish I’d written that myself.
Whatever one’s position is on any of these questions, we need to awaken to the fact that folks intent on world domination are using the various causes to create dissent and conflict among groups in society – after which they’ll offer themselves as the solution via more social control. (Problem, reaction, solution.)
It seems to take democracies a longer time to wake up and react than dictatorships, but, when they do, they tend to act decisively.
Yes, I agree: “Woke” is being used as a pretext to divide and control. (2) But to hear a politician actually say that is like a breath of fresh air.
